    • @sportschool3537
      @sportschool3537 Před 4 lety +8

      People dismiss Atalanta in this matchup against PSG... but I think they're reaaaally underestimating them... Atalanta can beat anyone and at the same time can lose to anyone... that's why they're so entertaining to watch... but don't count them out... who says they won't score 4 on the heads of those PSG diva superstars??? A team that is as crazy as Atalanta should never ever EVER be counted out... and honestly, the fact that PSG plays on the french league and hasn't played against a team half as good as Atalanta in their league all year really hurts them... League 1 is a joke for PSG and that hurts them in the CL cause they are not prepared for those very very hard games...
      Anyway... I have been supporting Atalanta in the CL like crazy this year... wanted them to do good and they've exceeded all expectations already... in the matches against Valencia I was watching them with my dad and he wanted to go back and forth to watch the other match that was playing at the same time too and I kept switching the channel back to Atalanta - Valencia, so he asked me "why are you so obsessed with this game?" and I answered simply "cause Atalanta is the best, most fun damn team in this competition!!!"
      Really hope they have their best games ever in this continuation of CL!!!

    As a Atalanta fan from Australia i have always watched them ever since I was a kid through relegation and promotion and now champions league. I must say what Gasperini has brought to this club is amazing I never would of thought this would ever happened. Going back 4 years ago we were regarded as a selling club the youth academy has always been known as one of the best in the world in fact they sold Kuluveski straight from there youth academy for several millions to Parma because he was a up and coming rising star without even hitting the big stage. The big clubs use to swamp in on all the talent that they produce but now they are holding on to there top players and by the looks selling player's that they unfortunately don't have room for in the side ie youth player's
    . This Atalanta side is great to watch and I hope they keep this up for many years to come. I also wouldn't mind seeing this team playing at the top with there whole stadium renovated would be a great atmosphere. P.S Milinoski should of also got a mention another great scouted player that has highly improved since come to La Dea .

      To be honest, this Serie A offers a lot of quality attacks! Bologna, Atalanta, Sassuolo, Lazio, early season's Cagliari (not that much right now), all have beautiful offensive football. I'll add Lecce to the bunch: they were just promoted from Serie B and are currently fighting relegation (I sure hope they'll stay), but Liverani makes the Team play great and highly enjoyable football, anything you'd expect to see by a newly promoted side! Hellas Verona is actually surprising everybody but they are way more ballanced and... "Slow" when compared to the rest. Team's skipper Juric used to be my least favorite Coach when he was managing Genoa: the team played horribly, hit very hard and the was very boring and frustrating to watch, but I must admit at Verona he's doing things differently and getting well earned results (box-to-box midfielder Amrabat, already sold to Napoli in January, is a beast)!

      It's difficult to find someone who can adapt to Gasperini's tactics. In fact, Kjaer, in the beginning, was Atalanta's player, but he failed to adapt in a 3-men defense and decided to move to AC Milan, which has a "classic" defending system

  • @wasigupitobudiarto7767

    Pippo Inzaghi used to play for Atalanta for one year and became Serie A capocanieri (Top Scorer) in 1997.

  • @theraggededgeonboardfastes8461

    90% of the team are two-footed and know how to stall an attack on the left wing and play back across the face of goal. When they get a chance to counter they finish off the move with the same acumen as lazio at the moment. They win their set pieces thru Gomez who must be fouled to stop his progress. They have a slew of free-kick specialist from varying distances. The rest had to do with correct defensive landmarking an organization. They lose to teams who have an aerial superiority. Wise $ should be spent on a dominant central defender.

    • @francescogatti4590
      @francescogatti4590 Před 4 lety +2

      Their weakest asset at the back right now is Palomino, but I suspect this has to do with the style of play Gasperini demands to his players. I'm from Bologna and a supporter of the Team, although Mihajlovic plays a crazy attacking football everybody is in love with in Town (and we beat Atalanta 2-1 at home). Both teams aren't well balanced, they are very much more prone to go forward than anything else and in returns the defence suffers. You draw quite the picture though (props to that), so I'm sure you know. That said, Palomino himself scored some goals (one in a game right after he made a decisive mistake with costed a goal), Toloi has more than one... In a three at the back formation this is very uncommon, considering most of them come from movement plays and not set pieces. It's safe to say that the vast majority of people in Italy love watching Atalanta!

    • @theraggededgeonboardfastes8461
      @theraggededgeonboardfastes8461 Před 4 lety

      3 in the back has 1 advantage there's less confusion between 3 people doing a job than 4 when a ball is played in. It dually releases an extra player to go forward. More than anything Gasperini is an excellent judge of interchangeable talent and gambles more on their attacking prowess instead of bolstering a defensive block of 4. The volume and quality of execution of passes in the final third is high. They also share the trait of having two footed attackers on the right wing scoring or recycling quickly against the grain deep in the final 3rd not unlike Barcelona. Just guessing I'd assume a lot of the success- picking up points in matches the opposition is doing everything it can to block them-has to do with the managers substitutions; although most observers get the impression that's its just been one massive steam roll job.
