This video covers rusty sheet metal repair and replacement on my 1958 dodge power wagon cab. I am completing a frame off restoration of this classic
Off-road truck and the cab was covered in rust and pitting. Using patch panels and the @fitzeesfabrications cut and butt method. I put this cab back together. Thanks for watching
Amazing job. Well done. Thanks for the plug. Very cool project and so much rust. Will be watching this one. Subscribed.
Everything sheet metal related that you’ll see here I’ve learned from you, without exception. I’m a fireman by trade who one day bought a project truck and a welder. Since then, you taught me how to repair sheet metal, and here we are. I’m incredibly grateful for you and the knowledge you share on CZcams.
@@partsandresto thanks for the kind words. Your doing a fantastic job. Keep at it
My favorite series on CZcams right now. Lots of work has been put into this. Cant wait to see how it looks when it's done.
Thanks fella!! I appreciate it!
@@partsandrestowheres the 48???
First, thank you for your service! Second, I love this series! WE NEED MORE!! I hope that there hasn't been more content because you are busy. I hope you are well.
Looking good and I love your shop. Good idea with the globe lights
You still out there man miss the updates.
Hello. I have a crazy idea. I am going to build a replica of the Studebaker US-6 truck from parts of Soviet trucks. First, I will be converting the GAZ-51 cab into a Studebaker cab. Now I'm assembling truck parts, building a house and getting inspired by your video.
Do it!!!
You're killing it! Glad you finally flipped the screen
I did it for you brother. It looks much better.
Looking forward to seeing your next video. Keep up your awesome work.
Been waiting awhile for another power wagon video .
Thank you for this vlog! My '51 PW is in as bad or worse shape and I decided to save it from death. I especially like all the cab repair videos! Keep up the good work!
When it comes to guys on CZcams who wrench on stuff it's always funny and never gets old when the compressor cuts them off hahahaha great work Dan
It's been 7 months how are the projects coming? Just found your channel today and watched all your videos already and am excited to see more... Any way keep up the good work.
RC, yeah, I don't know where he went. I would love to see where he is on the Power Wagon for sure!!
Winter's over bud. Hope to see new content, but I totally get being swamped by other projects.
Hey Rob, if you like this type of video, you may enjoy some of what I have up on my channel. Some restoration stuff and some DIY mechanic stuff. I'd love for you to check it out. Thank you.
Hooray for the moustache! The lighting doesn't bother me. Keep it up!
Impressive progress!! You have a natural teaching ability that makes it easy to follow along. Look forward to the next video.
Thanks Paul!
I was thinking just a day or two ago that we haven't heard from you in a bit. Glad to see that you are making progress.
Thanks bud, just been workin hard. Back at it now
Nice job. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Keep repairing. Keep restoratioing. Keep making. God bless.
It's a very good job ! Thanks for sharing with us
Well Dave welcome to the world of cut - delete - patch, doing work like this I use the If in doubt cut it out . Saves so much grief later on down the line. Stay safe at work old chap looking forward to the next one. Gary 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Loving your work! 🙌If I get to 1% of your skills when I get into fabrication.. I’ll be very happy! All the best Rob
So much work done already!
Looks like you're having fun. Knowing that, have you seen Fitzie's fabrication on you tube? I think you'd enjoy his amazing teachings.
Your tenacity is producing great results. You’re going to go places my friend. Don’t let fear control your progress; if you can form and splice 90-percent of the panels, a door sill is no issue. Looking forward to the next episode!
Great job welding the cowl vent. You are getting great at welding. I have a '46 WC half ton... I know that area well... awesome job!!!!!
That’s a cool truck Dave. Yeah, it seems they all rot out in the same spots! I appreciate it brother!
What squid game series? This restoration series is the best to watch. I can’t wait for this wagon assemble together.
You and me both! Thanks Cross!!
Great craftsmanship, Dave!!
DonutOperator if he was a firefighter lol!
Haha donut is the man
Enjoyed it. Fitzee's definitely got some good stuff to learn from. Some days it does feel like a slog but when it starts to fit up it makes it all worth it. Carry on.
Yeah, there’s like 30 days of repairing individual components for every one day of reassembling something solid. I’m in the weeds right now...
@@partsandresto well don't drag it out 16 years like I have with my C500. Keep at it!
Hey! Where are you? Hope everything is OK! Miss your content! Please come back!
Soon brother. All is well, just too cold to work on this
About time you got back at it! LOL
Like what you do . Great job.
Hi Boss, thanx for the new upload. Is it possible to bring the white lighting down a bit in the video as it is difficult watching it ...
Had the same issue on my tv. Not sure why, I’m on it
That's a lot of work my boy! Keep at it
If you want, Dave, you could make your rear window out of polycarbonate, then you could cut it with a sabre saw, and save money on the glass. Polycarbonate won't shatter like acrylic plastic.
Cool idea! Haven’t decided yet, they make a glass kit with everything in it, may just get that
Look for polycarbonate with UV protection to avoid it turning yellow from sunlight.
@@mdesousa6691 this is correct, but the old acrylics/plexiglass did that more than polycarbonate does.
Explain throttle control hookup.
Automotive Seam sealer would have helped on a lot of those seams you didn't like the way they looked. Instead of all the cosmetic welding. Great work man love you videos. And no fear to take on anything.
You're getting pretty good at your metalwork. Been waiting a while for your next video. Always liked Power Wagons.
Are you ok haven’t seen anything new . I hope your ok not having to deal the pressure of you know what stay safe.
All is well. Been taking the winter off to focus on my home, which I bought a few weeks before buying the power wagon two years back, and who has been wholesale neglected the last two years for some reason. I’m alive and kicking!
@@partsandresto good
Great job👍 Shame about the over exposure but such is life.
Question - did you watch on Apple TV?
4:05 That spray paint tip is genius!
Thanks bud, how’s your truck coming?
@@partsandresto Good I'm at college rn so not too much progress but we got the engine rebuilt so have to put that back in and got the cab and the bed blasted so some rust repair to go! I got a mig welder and started to learn a little bit
@@DIYSCOTT my man! Love your videos, keep learning!
A mecânica é muito da hora ainda mais nos Estados Unidos
I miss you boo. Where you been?
Taking the winter off pal. Shop is cold as balls
Mano eu sou seu fã Brasil
How is the corroseal holding up and performing? And rust coming back? Thank you.
Wow your still around .
Yeah! Been taking a little brake
I like the videos and the project but get a better camera.
If you hover the cursor over the progress bar, the small image looks fine, but on Chrome, it looks super overexposed
I’m having the same problem. Not sure why.
How is the Power Wagon coming along?
Are you running the Eastwood 135 for your welder?
Where did you Go ????
Hey Philly neighbor Dave, what brand welding wire are you using?
Whatever they sell at gas pro in south Philly. Haha
@@partsandresto you might get better results with Lincoln wire. Brandon Lund tested a number of brands, and he found that Lincoln wire worked about the best.
Do you live in Western New York?
Philly
All the lights are so bright you can’t see what you’re doing
Any chance you watched it on Apple TV? It’s crazy bright on my Apple TV for some reason
Hope you are still alive and well......!
This channel went belly up...
Working on other projects be back soon
@@partsandresto Great news. Glad you are still around.
Hey bud. Wazzzzzzzzzzzzup?
