Dr. Umar Johnson is very educated and after watching another video, I realized that I understand some of his premises, but not always agree, because we have similar educational backgrounds. With that being said, I have a problem with Umar's delivery. I'm not sure if he's trying to educate much as depict how smart he is. Every authentic and genuine counselor & educator is ethically trained to be empathetic and meet people where they are, but Umar talks and uses language like most people have studied or understands psychological and sociological terms. He's states a lot of historical and empirical (scientific-evidence base) facts but it's his interpretation and delivery that's often problematic. I won't throw the baby out with the bath water, but I want to know his underlying desire for his rhetoric past his Pan-Africanism because it's much deeper than that.
With Umar Johnson, I believe it has more to do with the fact that people believe he is a scammer. Point blank! When there is no paper trail of your degrees or accolades, people tend to get angry when you are getting paid to speak on this "knowledge" that you have. There are people that I know personally who have given to the cause of Umar building this school for boys and yet to see any type of fruits (no plans, no proposals, nothing). He just seems shady to me on many levels. I just can't get with the fakeness.

As someone who has bipolar disorder it's very hard to deal with when u don't have support of family, right meds, right dosage. Therapy and exercise along with nutrition and meditation. It takes an entire Change of life and lots and lots of support. It took me years and turning 40 to get my life back. Drugs and alcohol only make the situation work.
