Thank you, sir. Was greatly informative. At 30 years old I finally got my first vehicle, a 2009 Yamaha V Star, and this was an important step in learning how to clean her up and then keep her looking good.

I had a ceramic coating applied professionally to my black 21 F150 King Ranch in February 21. The brand applied is called R1 Coatings and is to last 5 years. Anyway, it cost $1800 and took a team 2 days to apply. I like it and will do it to my black 22 DCT Tour when it comes in. I do agree that it is very shiny; but maybe not not as good as a high quality freshly applied wax. However, maintenance with ceramic coating is a lot easier. Water beads instantly and bugs and dirt come off easily. However, they strongly recommend you only use Touchless car washes.

I’m really picky about my vehicles and when my F150 was brand new, I prepped it and applied a genuine ceramic sealant. It seemed like it was a good protectant but was not as smooth as the surface before application. Shiny as all get out, but when I got my Wing I decided to use the spray on sealants. I’ve been quite happy with those as nothing seems to stick to the finish. Perhaps if I was more daring I’d try the one you mentioned. Good, informative video….thanks Chris and safe riding.

I had my 2021 K1600GTL professionally installed immediately after purchase. Took it right from the dealer to the detailer. Had a 7 yr, self healing Feynlab ceramic coating applied. $1300, which was a discount, know the detailer and he used my bike for advertising. I could not be happier I did it. Although it hasn't seen rain yet, I still have not had to wash it yet. I do wipe it down after every ride, but just love it.

Absolutely great video sir!! Spelled it out perfectly for anyone to understand. Seems like if you buy a new motorcycle though, say a Goldwing, then take it straight to a professional detail shop and have a ceramic coating done. But how does a ceramic coating hold up vs. where I've seen a video where they apply that film over the painted bodywork itself? Is it easier to keep the motorcycle clean, when doing ordinary washes and keeps a nice looking paint finish? Have a great Memorial day weekend.

I had both a can-am 2021 spider RT Limited and decided to go ahead and ceramic it.the paint on the can-am is very sensitive it scraces just touching it.. So I shop around and decided.on TORQUE DETAIL graphene burst coat *ULITRA STRONG GRAPHENE TECHNOLOGY *S102 CERAMIC FOR ADDED PROTECTION* INSTANT GLASS LIKE COATING. ALL I do is get an application pad spray some on do a small section at a time.if you put to much on it will be spotty turn the cloth over and gently wipe if you see a problem get a damp rag and go gentle over it. I toke it to the dealer they couldn't believe how shiny it was. they don't want to clean it , but not afraid to use a dirty towel. you won't damage your paint.it's just scary because you are not familiar with the product. just remember car wash soap wash it off, all you do is just rinse.bird dropping comes right off.if it sits thier for a week can't say.

I have not washed one of my motorcycles, and there have been dozens, I haven’t washed one with water and soap for over 30 years. The only thing I use is Honda spray cleaner and polish detailer. That’s all I have used since I learned of that stuff back in the 80s when I was a motorcycle salesman part time.. in one of my videos, my bike is shining, I explain in the video that that is the only thing I have ever used on my motorcycles for the past decades.
I point out on the label it says it cleans degrees is and polishes without water right on the wall front of the can
many companies have tried to cash in on that. I’ve tried some of them, they don’t even come close. That Honda spray detailer is the number one best selling product Honda sells.. they sell more cans of that then they do spark plugs.. I buy it by the case. I don’t use soap or water, I don’t wax my motorcycles. That Honda spray detailer is safe for plastic, paint, chrome, and aluminum. You can use it on the whole motorcycle practically. I don’t know about the vinyl on the seat, I only use lemon pledge on the vinyl seats..
that is the only thing I have ever used on my windshields. Two of my motorcycles were black. My BMW K 1200 LT, and my Honda Pacific Coast which I commuted on for 24 years. I never washed that bike, I just used Honda spray detailer on it, when I sold it after I retired, it still shined like it was just a few months old. I hope Honda never “improves or changes “ The Honda spray detailer, because it is perfection in a can, it doesn’t scratch. My two black motorcycles would have shown scratches after all those years of use, and there were no noticeable scratches, not even the tiny ones that are as thin as spiderwebs

I have used it too for decades on all my stuff and at our dealership. BUT... nothing will protect like a ceramic coating. Best for my Matte paint bike, since it can stain for easily

I have heard of this ceramic coating for paint protection. A buddy of mine that owns a collision/repair business gave me a small bottle, I mean about the size of a large group of that coating. He said that’s enough to do my whole truck..
I don’t like to experiment with expensive things like my truck so I have never used it. I’ve had it for about six years.
      The reason is
years ago a product in an orange bottle for paint protection for your car came out called “new finish”.. I had a red van/Ford for hauling my race bikes around the country.. that new finish claimed it was the once a year car polish. So I put it on my red van…
after about three months, the paint on my red van which was nice and shiny before I put that stuff on, went to a matte dull finish. If I just ran my finger across the paint, my finger would be covered with red paint like it was talc powder. That stuff destroyed my paint..
The part that really reminded me of what that stuff did to my paint is, I kept that van for 31 years. I had a car also but that was my motorcycle van, it didn’t get driven much unless I was hauling something. In fact, after 31 years it only had 67,000 miles on it. When I sold it to a scrap dealer it actually drove away. But every day I saw that dull paint, and that taught me a lesson to never experiment with something that has not been proven..
my bikes don’t sit out ever. Even when I was commuting to work, I covered my bikes with a Nelson rig silver reflective cover to protect them from that angry red ball in the sky. I only used a half cover, because those things get hot under there..
I am seeing those ceramic coating products more and more on the market. I’m gonna talk to some people that I’ve tried it and see how many years it really lasts and what the final result is after a long exposure. I only wax my truck with carnuba wax once a year.. just before winter, or should I say, just before they start salting the roads here in Western Pennsylvania.. I applied a product called fluid film under my ram pick up when I first brought it home new. I spent five days spring under and inside all the doors quarter panels frame door post windshield post all the way up to the roof..I actually coat my wheels and bumpers and grill all the chrome with that stuff in the fall when I wax the paint. And I don’t wash the truck all winter because I don’t wanna wash that and lanolin off all the chrome and the wheels. So far so good

You could probably skip the polishing step, unless you see any visible swirls. Clay bar might be all you need, then alcohol wipe down, then ceramic coat.

there is no way to remove scratches, except to repaint. You can use Avalon coating on matte, I did. It will make it a little darker/richer but will not add shine. Most of the pro detail guys agree. I have been detailing for decades.

@@billsawyer5265 Thank you Bill, I've found that Honda's Matte finish scratches way too easy (As well as the gauge screen). I'm going to spray the matte with several coats of gloss clear after adding personal touch of some graphics...I think it will be much better.I'm a do-it-yourself guy.
