Thank you Adruan! Much appreciated!
We sure do !
Thanks Steve I'm going it looks amazing.

Great information. Thanks Steve
Thank you Pat!
Awesome job!! I know it takes a lot, Thanks so much for all the time and effort. I learn something on everyone of your videos! God Bless!âïžđđ
Thank you ken for checking it out man...much appreciated.
Great video Steve!
Thank you Scott...grateful that it helped!
great video Steve. Thank you
Thank you J!
Good job Steve đ
Thank you Alvin!
Outstanding!!! Thank you
Thank you for a great, user friendly product and also offering our members a discount ...much appreciated!
Thanks for another detailed video, Steve! I enjoy what you produce. You touched on a point that no one seems to address: bugs. On that topic, I have 2 questions: How easily do the bugs come off after a long, hot day of riding? Also, what/how would you clean a ceramic coated bike while on a multi-day, multi-state ride? Thanks again.
Any ceramic based quick detailer will wipe the bugs away after you apply the coating..the trick is to stay on top of it...at least once a day and dont let the bugs sit and cook on in the sun
Awesome job thanks
Youre very welcome!
Great video.. I just picked up Harleys new Graphene coating spray and will apply your techniques on my CVO Street Glide. Hope it shines like the bike in the video..Thanks for the infoâŠ.
Ahh didnt know they came out with one...Ill check it out!
This video is great. Thanks for being honest about its ease of use.
yes sir...thanks for checking it out William...its been great so far...really like the ease of use!
Great job bro. I didnt know until a few months ago that you are in Michigan. I was borne in Wayne county MI. We have made North Carolina home because of all the time at Ft Bragg and my spouse is not a fan of snow. Going to attempt this on the Trike and the softail. Thanks. Great video.
Well im close to Michigan...Im in Illinois...same great crap tastic weather for sure LOL
@@sikbaggers the worst roads Iâve been on next to Minnesota , but I understand itâs all about your winters
The amazing thing about a motorcycle, and especially a large motorcycle like a Harley Davidson Road King which I own, is how much surface area there is. You have not only the tank, fenders, and panels but the frame and wheels and all the nooks and crannies.
If you calculated all the surface area on a fully detailed bike it comes to something like 300 square miles. đ
Those nooks and crannies really add up !
Yes..I ahd talked about that in part of my video, this bike compared to a softail with 3 panels..I trimmed it out to save some time but yeah if you just had a softail or like you could probably do 10 bikes with one bottle but not a bagger lol
Like washing and waxing your house !!!
@@davidvanbrunt4233 Hah !
I love this tutorial
Awesome..glad it helped!
I live in the desert and my bike has a layer of dust on it every day. It took a complete day to prep for coating. I did this in July 2019 to my 2018 ultra classic and compared to a friend's bike it is night n day difference. Wished I had a spray booth to do it in from clay bar step forward.
Yes the prep work is a must and very time consuming ...but the outcome is well worth it I think
Thanks Steve. Have you done the video on replacing the handle bars yet?
we have done one on a road glide and will probably have one very son on the street glide.
I seriously can't make up my mind if I want to do this to my Road King. Partly yes ( I even bought some), but I also enjoy waxing my bike. It's like relaxing to me. So the inner debate gos on. Good video!
Hey David..im in the same boat...cleaning my bikes is relaxing to me...even with this you still have to maintain it...just makes it a lot easier...a nice ceramic detailer and spend some time making her shine.
It is no problem to wax after the coating, it is even better.
Mission 22 đŻđŻđŻ
Yes sir!
Awesome tutorial. I just purchased my Street glide and I was wondering if the paint from the factory will require and buffing prior to the ceramic application? There are only a few fingerprints on the painted surfaces as I haven't ridden the bike anywhere. 18 miles total. I am looking for to your suggestion.
Hey Kemm...it wont take any buffing however they do add a coat of "oil" so to speak for transportation..make sure to do a full alcohol wipe down on every part before applying. You can make your own IPA cleaner for wiping the bike... If you are mixing-up a 32-ounce bottle of IPA spray, youâll need 6-ounces of 91% IPA, before topping-off the rest of the bottle with distilled water. This will allow you to achieve a total IPA ratio of around 17%, with 7-8 ounces of IPA being on the heavier handed end of the spectrum.
I love your shirt Sir đđȘđșđž
Thank you tex!
Can you ceramic coat denim black or denim in general?
Great job and thank you for sharing and demoing --- Question will this product work on a good quality fully chromed set of rims/wheels? thank you
yes you can put this on chrome wheels...I would use the Wheel Armor Nano Extreme that I used on the wheel in this video.
"Scientific and Goofy" Hahaha! Steve you and your channel are far and away the best. Can you recommend a random orbit polisher? Thanks again.
Thank you David!! Much appreciated! For the bikes I really like my 3" adams swirl killer. It's a little priceier than the harbor freight 6 inch...but man it's smooth and pretty light weight.....being 3" let's you really get into more spots ...solid investment for sure.
⊠harley put it on my 2022 street glide special⊠bike cleans up real nice⊠!!!
Its a great protectant! Thanks for checking it out!
Great video Steve what kind of buffer are you using? Finish piece looks great!!!

Nest time you're up in Chicago bring your trailer so you can pick up my ride to fully detail it and give it a coating.
haha bring her on down Bill! We will do her up!
Hey Steve, thanks for the video, very informative. I have an antique bike, 1961 FL, is this product something you think I could use to preserve that older paint? Thank again.
it would add a layer of protection for sure. It really depends on how good the paint is right now.
try the wheely clean,awesome product
yep..I got it too...works great!
We need a video on matt paint finish please!!!!
Im working on it...trying to find a denim bike to do it on...thank you!
Hey Steve, I watched this vid a couple nights ago and was dead set on buying it. then tonight I caught your vid from 3 months about FAB ceramic and am torn. How is this one holding up? Iâd honestly prefer to do this graphene as compared to regular ceramic since graphene traditionally tends to have more of a shine than ceramic but I wanted to know your thoughts first since you now have two videos on separate brands. Thanks, and awesome videos as usual!
Both of these are excellent products and are holding up well! I would say in your spot I would go with your gut as they both are equally easy to apply and easy to maintain. If you want the extra shine from graphene I would use that. They are a little different products but both provide an excellent protection.
Could you do a full detail steps for denim paint. I want to ceramic it but I know a bunch of these things seem not good for denim paint
I actually have a set of denim bags im about to bust out and try this on and ill let you know. I get asked that alot but I need to do some testing before hand
@@sikbaggers Thank you. Greatly appreciate it. this denim paint while i love the look is a pain in the butt sometimes lol
New Subscriber.. great video! Two questions: 1) Can you reuse your microfiber cloths after using them with the Graph-X6 and 2) I see you didn't rinse the Wheely Clean off, it's ok to spray on, wipe off then apply the wheel coating - no rinsing needed? Thanks for the good info and entertainment. Mike
Thank you Mike...I would dedicate the towels to the graph x or any other ceramic coating...Ive done it both ways with wiping it down and rinsing it...either way works fine as long as you wipe it down really well.
Omg wheels are the worst part for sure Iâm going to try this product I did my bike last year. With a company call GI gloss it it was 200 for a small bottle it was a h7 Iâm not happy with it at all if you donât get water spot off fast they stuck on it for good thanks for the video
Man that stinks..never heard of that brand but yeah 200 for a 7h is not a very good deal specially if its not lasting...there are a lot of hyped up coatings on the market...I wanted to really do my research on this before I bought any...now only time will tell.
Hey Steve!!! Used the ArmourShield on my Ultra tins. Problem was my fairing fell onto the garage floor thanks to a garage door opened unexpectedly. Now I have micro scratches in the ceramic coating. Any ideas to fill them or reapply totally?
Damn the bad luck!!!
I would just buff out the scratches the best you can, that will remove most of the armour shield and then just re apply it..itll be fine
Any product recommendations for cleaning & polishing the aluminum rims on my 09 FLHTC?
The Dura coating wheely clean is one of the best wheel cleaners Ive used amzn.to/48QxLuL after you get the grime off you can finish with any alluminum polish and some good ole fashion elbow grease. Unfortunatly those wheels , with all those thick stems, and there are a lot, are going to take some time to polish. I use 3D metal polish amzn.to/48P7qgS and white applicators pads to polish amzn.to/499rBpv I use white for any metal polishing so I dont take the the chance of cross contaminating my pads. But use whatever you have available. If your rims are pitted or discolored just from age and use, you may not be able to get that out by hand. You would need to remove the wheels and get at them with a machine polisher
Good video, can you apply wax after polishing and before sealant?
no , ceramic first and then wax
đđđ
thank you!
Great video.Iâm getting ready to do this to my bike what did you use with the clay bar to make it slick?
you can generally use a quick detailer that isn't an SIO2 detailer..nothing with ceramic in it or for ceramic..I useMeguiar's D15501 Last Touch Spray Detailer and I get it in a gallon and just re use an old bottle...for the price its hard to beat and youc an always use it to do a quick wipe on your bike to get off bugs, dust etc...here is what I use amzn.to/45Cwo2g
Thank you for the info. What brand polisher are you using and what size pads are those?
Is that a 3.5" polisher pad?
Was wondering if this Ceramic coating can be done on Harley's Denim paint. I have a 2019 RGS in Industrial Grey Denim.
Some can and some cant...i would call them ask them before getting it. I do have a new ceramic coating video coming out on March 2nd specifically designed for motorcycle and it can be used on denim. Stay tuned for that one!
How would work on pinstripeâs, I know I canât use a puffer on the pinstripes since there no clear coating.
If the pinstripe is OEM it should clear over it...if it was added later then yeah no clear which kind of stinks because of that issue there...cant ever buff it, or if you do at least stay away from the pinstripe. This can applied to any surface like the pinstripe and would actually help protect it...but I would spend the time doing the paint correction first.
same as other questions what buffer are you using?
I've been through a few of the cheapos and this one is so smooth...doesn't weigh a ton and doesn't shake you to death..Adams Swirl Killer 12mm long-throw - amzn.to/3Fub6a3 with Griots Orange pad amzn.to/395PXXh and the black pad amzn.to/3N24uCk
Thanks Steve can the wheely clean be used on the engine?
I would assume that it could be..I would start by cutting it like I did and go from there...its pretty strong stuff
Where did you get the crown gas cap to fit the advanblack dash?
14 bucks amazon ...got a chrome one for the SG and the softail and a black one for the RG amzn.to/37GmeE6
Are ceramic coatings hard to get off? I have a custom paint job on my E-glide. The painter cautioned me not to use a ceramic coating. Do you know anything about this?
The process of removing a ceramic coating usually involves using abrasive methods such as polishing or sanding, which can be time-consuming and labor-intensive. It is important to note that attempting to remove a ceramic coating without proper knowledge or equipment can also damage the underlying paint. It is recommended to seek the assistance of a professional detailer who has experience in removing ceramic coatings. They will have the necessary tools and techniques to safely and effectively remove the coating without causing damage to the paint.
Will their products also work on matte denim paint? I have a 2019 Harley SGS Wicked Red denim.
these ceramics wont work as it will more than likely leave a glossy shine...id give them a call and see what they have for denim
What if you need some touch up paint that requires clear coat? How would you do that considering it has a ceramic coating on it? I asked my painter about it and he said he would absolutely not recommend putting on a ceramic coating. I guess Iâm on the fence but know that Dura coating makes some good products. I just put all brand new painted parts on my bike and want to be sure before I decide for or against the ceramic coating.
Well I guess first I have to understand your scenario. Your bike has a coating but you have a chip that needs addressed? If its chipped down to the paint then that area no longer has a coating on it...fill it in with paint, clear it and then put the coating on top. If you have chips before the coating then fill them, clear them and then coat. I wouldn't coat over any rock chips...thats why I stressed getting the paint in the best order you can before coating..once it on, it on. But lets say you coated your bike and then went out and got a rock chip...that area that is now down to the plastic is just that...down to the plastic...there is no coating there anymore, nor clear, nor paint...so fill it, clear it and re coat it.
@@sikbaggers I absolutely love your reply. Not only are your videos very informative but you truly care about the biker community. I have a brand new paint job and havenât been able to ride it yet because itâs not fully assembled. The paint was completed about two months ago so Iâm hoping thatâs enough time for it to âcureâ and I think Iâm leaning towards the ceramic coating. Thanks buddyâŠđđ»đđ»
What brand/model polisher did you use?
Its the Adams Swirl Killer 12mm and use 3 inch pads amzn.to/3P9Xyor
Steve, Iâm a slow learner. How about I bring my bike and you show me how you do the entire bike. Then I can bring it back and you show me how to maintain that look? đ€Łđđ€Ł Seriously though, great tutorial!
LOL anytime Rick..bring her on over
Is it ok to apply it to the heat shields on the exhaust?
Thats a great question and that is probably one place I would not put it on. And of course any rubber or vinyl.
I know this is almost a year old but, I just ordered this ceramic coat & the promo code is still good. Applied it yesterday. Thanks Steve
very nice! Thanks for checking out the video!
Bro, if a guy has some engine upgrades, also, upgrades to suspension, tires, exhaust, wheels, custom paint. Is there an order youâd like to see these things done. Concerns about all the wrenching and up and down on lifts, with an expensive custom paint job intact. Thoughts?
We do a lot of work on already custom painted bikes ...im usually a nervous wreck until its all done...one slip of the wrench and the paint is shot. Im kind of confused about your question though...an order to the ceramic coating or are we talking about something else..sorry im a little slow on mondays lol
@@sikbaggers you answered it. Prefer to get all my engine upgrades done before I custom paint my bike
I see they have no seams on the microfiber weâre did you buy them and whatâs the brand name
The blue ones are made by the rag company ...Eagle Edgeless amzn.to/3LW1kja .. I use them and the creature edgeless which are dual pile..the smaller pile is great for removing wax, polishes etc. and then flip it for the plush side to shine amzn.to/3wgNCki
Update me bro. On the wheel armor & ceramic coating. Is it still holding up. PROS CONS. Be for I start mine this weekend
Sorry for the late reply, just got back from Sturgis...but yes its holding up very well..got rained on in strugis and mine beaded up and ran off like a fresh coat of rain x on glass...this stuff is awesome
@@sikbaggers thanks bro I coated mine this past weekend. It is amazing stuff. Thanks for the hook up on the video
Just curious, if you was to do this for a customer, what would be the charge?
just the ceramic coating is a minimum of 100 bucks to apply..but thats the easy part...I reat each bike different when it comes to prep work...no set charge to do it because you will end up burning yourself ...prices are varied on how bad the bike is when it comes in. For instance if the bike comes in brand new and all I have to do is quick clean, ISO wipe and apply I would charge 200 and of course if its worse the price would go up from there based on my time and how much material I'm using to do the corrections.
What color is that glide ?
Its an oem color from 2014...Charcoal Pearl
What kind of buffer is that?
I've been through a few of the cheapos and this one is so smooth...doesn't weigh a ton and doesn't shake you to death..Adams Swirl Killer 12mm long-throw - amzn.to/3Fub6a3 with Griots Orange pad amzn.to/395PXXh and the black pad amzn.to/3N24uCk
@@sikbaggers thank a million
They may have told you one direction in Appling, but every pro video I have ever watched the person always stresses a cross hatch application.
No one recommended any pattern other than overlapping...doing a cross hatch with a self leveling coating is only to ensure you get everything covered and dont miss anything...attention to detail will get the same results. That being said you can apply this coating however you wish. Be safe.
@@sikbaggers very interesting, and yes the key words are attention to details on anything you do.
Does the cmx act as a stripper?
I guess you can call it a strippeer....its an IPA... IPA wipedowns are for removing oils, waxes and silicones from polishing prior to applying a wax, sealant or ceramic nanocoating.
@@sikbaggers thanks for the reply. You said alcohol in the video. Does denatured alcohol work?
When are u gonna upload for the cholo build
Should have some coming in the next week or so...with riding season here everyone has me working on bikes...had to put in some extra shop time just to get this video shot..ive been spawmped...but I do have more coming.
Now u know what u talking about
Thanks for checking it out Brandon!
Do you do music competitions on your bike
You should address all that orange peel . All that effort and the clear looks like a bag of diamonds. That's why a good paint job has several coats of clear . Factory paint is so crappy . I don't think I would want a coating like this on my work .
Color sanding Harleys clear coat is a whole other video Dave ...these guys and gals are out here spending 30k on these bikes and they are fine with the clear when they purchased it and now want to protect it.
Duracoatingâs owner is very unprofessional and I have personally had a very bad experience with them when asking questions about the product and how they compare ( what are the differences and pro and cons compared to other products that are more well known) I will admit they do have some good products but their customer service and interactions with customers or potential customers who have questions or are having issues with their products have been very aggressive and unprofessional.
wow..really didnt have that experience with them at all...quite the oppisite. But thank you for the comment and the heads up.
@@sikbaggers yeah it may be just a hit or miss kind of thing but after that experience I did some research on the reviews for them and almost every review or comment that was even remotely negative or questioned their products or how to use them was met with profanity, name calling and really aggressive responses, I have a buddy that owns a detailing business in NY that has an account with them and he has had no issues with them either, and swears by their products. I havnt personally tried anything from them but I do know a few people who have and for the most part the products seem to work well, I just had a bad experience and it turned me away as a potential customer for them. I know weather or not Iâm a customer doesnât effect them in the slightest, but I prefer to work with brands and companies that have decent customer service and if they feel they need to defend their company they do it in a respectful and professional way. Just my opinion about them.
