  • A restored LP cut, "The Foggy Dew", from the album, "I Chose the Green", sung by the gifted and talented Anne Byrne, circa 1967. On this album, Anne Byrne was backed in vocals and instrumentals by Paddy Roche and Mick Crotty.
The video features pictures from the album as well as incorporating video footage from Anne Byrne and Jesse Owens' studio performance of "The Foggy Dew"", likely recorded sometime in the 1960's.

Such a beautiful, resonating voice. It's such a shame these recordings of her are so scarce to come by in other regions of the world.

when will her recordings be available again. Such a shame that we are deprived of Anne’s beautiful music. Can someone not see sense and release the music on CD or streaming services or better still on Vinyl. Who owns the rights... Get this sorted asap.

The Irish singer Mary Black and her husband acquired the rights to my sister Anne's recordings some time back. Unfortunately despite Anne's husband Patrick's best efforts, they refuse to let him have them. Unfortunately my sister Anne passed away after Christmas 2020 so I do not know if we will ever see them released...

      Hello Eamonn,
I have been a very long time fan of your sister Anne and waa so sad to hear of her passing in Dec. 2020. I live in USA and over the years have found most of her vinyl album's. I found one many years ago in a record shop in L.A (I live in California) but found most when I traveled in London and Dublin years ago. I am sad to hear that the ownership of Anne's music is with Mary Black & her husband and that Paddy has been unable to get it back. I don't understand any of the legal things about this but does this mean that Paddy can never have Anne's music released on CD?
What does Mary Black and her husband want ownership for? Do they want to release Anne's music on CD themselves or just hold onto it for no reason? I guess I don't understand it or how it works. I loved your sister's singing so much but only wish I could hear them on CD's.

Just wanted to ask if any of Anne's albums will be released on Cd's?
I know there were many problems with legal ownership or other rights to be able to have the LP'S digitized (which is really beyond my understanding.) I was just hoping that by this point, whatever legal matters exist, could be resolved and that Anne's beautiful singing would be made available for many of her fans who would love to be able to buy Cd's.
I have been a fan since about the late 1970's or early 1980's when I found an LP in a record store in USA. When I traveled to Uk and Ireland during the 1980's, I was able to find more of Anne's LP'S.
Now would be so happy to find that all these LP's have been digitized.
