Jessie was in Dublin many years back and came to our gig in The Sunnybank Hotel. He borrowed my guitar and sang us a song. Told him Id been listening to this track from Come West Along the Road DVD.
Is the only song with Anne singing on this DVD? I am in United States. Can you tell me where I may be able to purchase this online? Who else is on the DVD?
I think this is the only one with Jessie and Anne there's also The Ronnie Drew Group before they were called The Dubliners also Bobby Clancy The Ramblers and a few others The DVD by RTE is I think Come West Along The Road
Just learned that Anne passed away a couple of years ago. She had a lovely voice. RIP

I like the way Anne Byrne sings this song.
the air is quite similar to the songs where the blarney roses grow' and the lakes of Ponchartrain.
