I thought Montgomery's saves were great, but that Seaman save was just as great. Those are the top 2 for me.
As great as Seaman's was Montgomery's was next level. The commentary said it all. He announced the goal

Seaman's probably greatest save ever .
I remember seeing Montgomery make that double save, definitely the best ever in FA Cup history....two fantastic saves in a matter of a couple of seconds.....everyone thought Leeds had scored, but Monty was just too good.
Seaman's save... I was there (Sheff U fan), almost in shot behind the goal. I, like most Blades fans, were cheering for a second or two as it looked a certain finish. Personally, I think this could even beat the famous Gordon Banks save in the world cup. From those last 2 angles, it defies belief how he hooked that out. - much to my disappointment, I should add. I liked the Grobbalar save too... he had a knack of even making simple saves look amazing. Great keeper.
I had never see the Leeds Sunderland one before, but that was class. I bet neither striker could believe it!
Montgomery’s double save easily the #1 with Seaman as easily #2. Penalty saves are cool but overrated and Grobbelaar was initially out of position so he had to make up for it with that acrobatic looking jump (kind of like many modern keepers really).
Never seen that first one. World Class. With the boring new footballs and the silly new football you guys have in the higher leagues, enjoy this history.
02-03 was a rough season for Seaman.. He got heavily criticized for being too old and way past his prime.
He proved us wrong. No other goalkeeper in the world could have saved that one.
Jim Montgomery save is better
Montgomery by far,2 world class saves within a nano second!

Montgomery save is better than the penalties!
Not sure about the penalty saves, especially Schmeichel's, that was pretty standard. Seaman's is on par with Banks save against Pele. it is that good. Montgomery's was amazing too!
Jimmy Montgomery's save is many levels above most of these. Seaman's is next but a fairly distant second place.
I feel like these days, Goalkeepers don't get enough credit for the saves they make. If Banks vs Pele happened now, you could well imagine a commentator saying "Banks with a routine save there"
Agreed. I played goalkeeper at a pretty high level and a great save is severely under valued. I've made some in my life and much of it is deep reaction. Afterwards you definitely question where the heck it came from.
