      There is such a thing as competition. Making the sport for not the faint hearted, such as ones who cry for equality. The sport itself is solely to beat your opponent next to you. With no strive to 'want' to be better, for reasons like compassion and empathy for the rival you will then lose. You must have a drive to beat the lesser, and challenge the greater.

    Here is how it breaks down, imports are usually cheaper to buy off the bat but cost way more to soup up while Muscle Cars cars more off to bat to drive but cost way less to soup up. Imports are better at handling and fuel economy but cost more to modify and repair while Muscle cars are better at generating raw power for less and don't handle as well but do dominate the strait line.

    i love them both, the muscle has such an awesome classic look and you cant beat the roar of em, but imports can be sexy as hell and its true that such a smaller engine can stand a chance, a turbo is something you put in an engine to make it faster same concept as having a bigger engine put in for more power but being bogged down by weight, they even out. i just love cars ... that's all, i loved how that rx7 popped that front up xD

  • @straightouttathe7thcircle431

    I have a '69 Charger R/T and whenever a ricer rolls up, the driver usually gives me props and says "nice car". I do the same when I see a bad ass import. Yes there is a replacement for displacement ...it's called turbo...aka force induction ...If it wasn't a replacement for displacement why does it make your car faster ? And no I'm not here to troll but can't fool me here no Mustang before 93 can run 13 stock ..I'm talking bout your Lil 5.0 vanilla ice car...I don't want to start trolling...I know muscle cars had like a big ass 6.0 liter back then making like 350 hp but it weight like 5000 pounds. The only real muscle cars were the police edition but still ran like mid 13 with 500hp. Get over the battle here OK ..

    • @tfeverfred
      @tfeverfred Před 10 lety +2

      Na Yang Your knowledge about muscle cars is limited, like your engines displacement. Look up the Shelby Cobra Mustangs or the SOHC Mustangs. Or the '72 Chevelle SS 454 or the tri-carbed 427 alloy head Vettes of '69. ALL ran well below 13 sec. in the quarter. NONE weighed 5,000 pounds. A lot of the horse power numbers for these cars were advertised LOWER, so the insurance companies wouldn't raise rates. So, get your FACTS straight.
      Now, your piss ant 4 cylinder Hondas can be modified to make big horse power, BUT it cost BIG money. Most of you guys are RICERS pretending you know what the hell you're doing. I used to work at an auto parts store and I used to LAUGH at you fuckers spending money on those stupid coffee can mufflers. All you could afford was bolt on's that did NOTHING for your cars performance.
      So, pull that turbo out of your ass and go learn about muscle cars and their history. Then, maybe, people will take your rants serious. Also, most races boil down to driver ability, NOT horse power. But, you're too stupid to realize that.

    • @jaressquinton7209
      @jaressquinton7209 Před 10 lety +1

      tfeverfred I am by no means a ricer, but I do drive a Toyota Celica. It is however a true Celica not one of these newer GT-S bullshit ones. It's a '77 GT coupe. I've completely modified it and I'm not a ricer I am a tuner. There is a huge difference between a tuner and a ricer. The main being that I understand that if I have a V-Tech engine I'm not going to put a turbo on it because when that V-Tech kicks in it's just overlapping what the turbo would do and make both basically useless. Not everyone who drives import is a ricer you are just a prejudiced ass turd that probably just googled some american engines and drives a chevy cavalier that's about to blow up from misuse and a lack of maintenance.

    American Muscle is meant to be strong, it could be modified to be fast but in reality it was meant to be what it's called.. " Muscle"..
    Fact: Hondas, Toyotas, anything made in Japan is a toy that can be modified.. without modification or tweeking, they are normal everyday cars.
    Ford, Chevy, Dodge make real muscle, even without modifying it.. Meaning you can buy stock and maintain stock and stock will last forever without breaking your pocket..

What would you call a 69 Camaro with a 468 BB or 68 Dart with a 383/440/426 BB and a 70 Stang with a built 460 BB....small pony cars with BBs....and....YES.... it's a muscle car! That's all I'll say to you...I'll take it easy on you....only because I like your avatar picture! The beggining of the muscle car era were the mid size cars with big motors then it evolved to what we have today, The muscle car name started with the 64 GTO and then evolved slowly but, I would argue that the 409 Chevys started the trend or maybe one of the older chrysler cars with the 426 wedge motors or even the older 392 Chrysler cars could be considered muscle cars albeit, they were in full sized cars so, mid size BB doesn't fit muscle car designation at that time but, today it would be almost acceptable but, those Chrsylers were big whales and the 409 Chevys would pass for muscle cars. Anyways, the true meaning of muscle cars were cars with a lot of HP but, no power steering or power brakes and it took some muscle to operate those types of cars....lol...dispute that??? kidding!

    • @stratotanker327
      @stratotanker327 Před 10 lety +3

      You're right. It's all a matter of what you want to spend on horse power. But displacement ALWAYS wins. You can add boost to as many cylinders as you want, but a V8 will always make more HP. That's why 500c.i. Top Fuel dragsters run 3 second quarter miles -- and that is under so many restrictions! A tweaked out Nissan twin-turbo GTR is nice, but a twin turbo 6.2L C6 Vette would be in a totally separate class.

      Congrats on going fast in a straight line but in terms of track racing I can guarantee that almost all of the American cars here would lose against their imported counterparts, I think you owe imports some respect considering this is the American domain they're racing on bud. Must be frustrating to not be able to yell out the window " I could beat you if we drove to a crooked track buddy!". Keep your window up in shame. So go buy your million dollar car, because I love going around them on a shoe string budget =)

      ***** I'm not going to get into some kind of personal battle with you because from what you just said to me, I can tell that you obviously have some kind of bad experiences with people driving ricers and unfortunately you childishly correlated the car and the idiot driving them which is a pretty good display of the ignorance you have. Let me go further to say that there is a difference between a ricer and an import, an American made car can be a ricer as well, maybe you just need to look in to the definition to get a better understanding before you open your trap. When it comes to Domestic cars versus imported cars, there's an old saying "you get what you pay for." Just look at GM lately, they're recalling millions of models left and right, it's an embarrassment to American car culture when all those brand new Camaros can't even last a few months before they get called back because they lack the manufacturing quality required to keep them on the road. American cars just aren't what they used to be and in my opinion, Imports deserve MUCH more respect than any American car lately.

    • @nova396
      @nova396 Před 10 lety +1

      Damius McRuckerton It always make me smile when someone premises they don't want to get into a personal battle, right before they make a long diatribe proving they actually do, lol. No muscle car, or gm car has ever been called a ricer, what absurdity. Gm is being recalled because that is what happens when you bring big government behind the scenes. Perhaps you missed the recalls of Toyota? In America, we are swamped with litigation in every aspect of any manufacturing, it has little to do with quality. Corporate greed and crony capitalism are behind the scenes, not quality. I'm a tool and die maker by trade, unlike you I actually know what I'm talking about. Imprts don't retain any value because they are crap, gm cars hold value for DECADES.

    • @esowaych
      @esowaych Před 10 lety +3

      ***** LOL You have got to be kidding me! The second you pull off a lot in a domestic car the value plummets like a rock. My friend has a 2011 chevy malibu he bought brand new and he's had no problems with it. The value is nothing compared to what he paid for it. The reason imports are expensive is because they are more quality designed and built, they actually HOLD value, they're RELIABLE, I can't recall any American car company being widely know for it's reliability. On the other hand we have Subaru, Honda, Volvo, Mazda, Audi and Toyota, in fact, the only moderately know domestic brand known for it's decent reliability is GMC, which is strange considering their parent just finished recalling millions of cars. YOU DO get what you pay for, QUALITY!

    Why are these people racing Civics?
    -Well, they are dirt CHEAP. You can get a decent Civic, with moderate mileage, around $5,000-$8,000. This is the range for a used Civic with around 50,000 or so miles, but these look like 90s Civics, so they are probably even less than $5,000.
    -More customizabilty than any other car out there. Go look up body work, tuning, etc and the Civic is easily the most widely avaiable car to tune and do body work on.
    -Cheap maintenace. Muscle cars are expensive to maintain. Civics will eventually break down, but are very cheap to fix up.
    -High reliability. Imports last longer and can take more miles than American cars. Honda, Toyota, Nissan, etc are consistently rated top reliability.
    -Easy to tune. People have told me the import engines are super easy to fix up and tune.
    Unless if you have a lot of money, not willing to put in as much work for your car, etc, then I guess a muscle car is the bettet choice. I am American btw and totally think imports are superior.

Then see what those "land boats" can do. You have to gut your cars and up the boost to the point of grenading the engine to be fast. Muscles do it naturally. With Brute. Power.

    it's sad how most peoples opinion about imports are based strictly on Hondas soo sad it's disgusting lol... meet a real well built import and you'll regret owning muscle. look up titan motorsports or ekanoo and you'll learn what there really about. 2jz,1jz,3sgte,rb anything,even rotarys are a better power plant then the same old blown out 350 or 305 americrap. I guess thats why you see so many camaros and mustang with 2jz swaps now pushing 1500hp + but that's none of my buisness lol

    • @0192837465934
      @0192837465934 Před 8 lety +1

      305s arent worth a fuck, 350s are the stock engine people throw parts into because it's cheap and really simple to get a good understanding, yeah you can make some nice power, enough to get you going and beat a few around the block. But once rivaled against a built v8, the massed strength of the 350 will not be enough. It seems that you underestimate or have little knowledge of the power you can get from a v8 rather then a 305 or even a 350, it's disappointing to see that's all you think is there.

I love muscle cars and I love displacement, but the single sighted attitude of most American muscle car drivers is absolute bullshit. If you want to compare a nations car making ability, let's see your best muscle car against a Nissan GTR, then let's look at the build quality of both, including interior materials, then let's compare chassis rigidity, lateral G's, and fuel consumption and the good ole boys can go back to their farms while the rest of the world laughs at those live rear axel stangs. You ess aye! You ess aye!

    A good car is a good car regardless of it's make or origin.
    However, and yes I am an American, NOBODY BUT FUCKING AMERICANS LOVES TO WATCH A 10 SECOND RACE.......
    The rest of the world laughs at American cars in REAL RACES. Who cares how fast you can go in a straight line, can it turn? How is the handling? Ect, ect ect
    I am sorry but you cannot parade around saying you are the best if you only dominate in a sport in which YOU ARE THE ONLY PARTICIPANT. The rest of the world enjoys racing overall! Drag racing is looked at like we adults look at 4th graders doing races across the blacktop, cute but they will grow up, hopefully.....
    It takes little skill to drive a straight line, a little more skill to control all that horsepower in a straight line, and a maniac with unbelievable skills to tame a dragster..... but it takes an assortment of skills to drive on a race/road course and take turns and factor in other cars, weather, tires, gas, as you whip around the track, and do not dare say "we have NASCAR!" because then you sound like a complete idiot, once again making one direction turns, with a few road coarses, every driver sounding like a baby.... the WORST Formula 1 driver alone trumps any driver who says they are the best racer from NASCAR. there are many racing leagues and many cars that are tuned for this, and american cars rarely ever finish in the front. Oh I am sorry, but the Corvette with it's plastic and fiberglass body parts that last as long as the milk in my fridge with its GERMAN made engine doesn't count. You want to claim American made cars are amazing, they are beautiful and have a lot of power, but stop bragging and saying they are the best when clearly they are not in the league of others.
    Like I said, everyone laughs at the arrogance of Americans because we always say we are the best, even when we are not....
    So I say this, if you love your American made car, great! Stop bitching about others who like JDM or Euro or whatever the hell they love, it is a passion, stop being so arrogant and naive. You are making us all look bad....
    Now i sit back and await the negative comments, grammar Nazis, ect ect ect blak frickity blah
