Import vs American Muscle
Nova is N/A NO BOTTLE!!! don't know the specs because the owner doesn't want people to know
VS
Nissan Skyline GTS w/ RB26 swap and AWD conversion, Single Turbo on small N2O hit (car ran 10.2 the next day at the track on just boost) - Auta a dopravní prostředky
That Nova literally gives me chills when it smokes past the line. I need some old school muscle in my life.
This is why I put a V8 in an import car. So I can argue with myself.
Like in a Jim Carrey movie "Me, Irene and Myself" :)
No. Bad.
See ain't nothing wrong with the Datsun dachshunds are fast but if that was a Toyota 2JZ I feel sorry for that novel that Nova would have got murdered by that Toyota if that was a Toyota but that was a Datsun Skyline that I think that was untuned
Nova was setup perfect, someone knew what the hell they were doing
That Nova was like greased lightning !
wow the sound of the Nova when it pass in front of the cam !!
When that Nova passes the finish line @2:22, that is the baddest sound ever!!
I agree
That thing is fucking screamin, Sounds beautiful!
Totally agree that sound increase my testosterone levels lol
Sounds way better than the gt350r
As a Ford guy i agree, thats tuff
That fly-by at the end though! Damn, I had to rewind that part a few times! I love both rides. Both are beasts!
American muscle vs Japanese muscle. Can't go wrong with either. Although I do prefer the growl of that good ol' American V8. This hole argument I'm seeing in the comment section is pointless. Anyone who has the nerve to diss *EITHER* of these cars, is not a true car enthusiast, and an idiot on top of that. Stop flexing the egos you morons, and appreciate a good car when you see it! Import *OR* domestic!
*DONE*
I appreciate that you're appealing to both crowds, but what you're basically saying is that everybody needs to acknowledge that both cars are "good", otherwise they're an idiot or a moron. You may not realize it, but a "good car" is a very, very subjective thing, and for me it comes down to a lot more than just being fast.
I'm not a super-hardcore Nova fan, but I strongly prefer it to the Skyline (and most other modern cars, import or domestic) for a variety of my own reasons. I won't ever like it, but that doesn't make me "right" or "wrong". It's just my personal preference, and I'm not an idiot for having it. Likewise, somebody who prefers imports isn't "wrong" for having their preference, even if a lot of them are too full of pride to gracefully accept defeat here (seriously, how many of these armchair commandos retorting with "road racing" arguments actually race on real tracks or have a legitimate use for a car with that ability that won't land them in jail?).
*DONE*
***** I miss dimmers being on the floor :(
You're a goody goody goof
bro you have my respect, yes both good in my book... its just the car its the racer.
Richard Smith Me too, man... Me too...
Why does everyone think the skyline sounds good, sounds like a fucking vacuum lol
+Shane Smith That's what we call opinions. Ever heard that word before? It's great!
+Shane Smith HAHA sounds like a fucking dyson
That's the sound of a turbo, hell some people like turbocharge LS engines.
I agree, muscle cars with turbos make me feel, well... Somehow very uncomfortable
Actually that "vacuum" at the beginning was most likely supercharger from that nova lol
I love how people can hate on a car or even a car brand based on the results of a race. People need to realize that one of the grate things about cars is they can always be improved imports and domestics alike.
That's my Nova, i built it and owned it at the time of this race. My best friend drove it this race. He also help build the car. Pay attention to the audio, you can hear the Nova being on and off the throttle the first 700ft. LISTEN to the video! the Nissan had no chance! and also whooped on the newer GTR's with this car! no joke all motor nova at 3250+ race weight! this should end the conversation of import vs domestic for now untill my new car is done.
Awesome car sir. Definately fast. What were some of the motor specs couldn't see engine was it a big block or small block.
please specs, it sounded sooo goood
Is this the same nova that lost to the av boys mustang?
Maybe 383 with alluminum heads, single 650 cfm double Pumper carb, super Victor intake, solid Roller cam set to 7000rpm, rocker arms and push rod for high rpm, calvert mono leaf spring, powerglide with transbrake, stall converter, 9" rear end, slick hoosier, 15/16" rear Wheels..
Great, from italy!
You have no chance with the dmc delorean!.. lol
im so glad im a proud owner of a 1972 chevy nova
It does feel good dont it
I have a 68 chevy Nova
‘74 here. Last year of the decent looking ones
69 nova here
71
That Nova moves! Destroyed that skyline!
Cool, that's a 10 second Nova, built to the nuts!
Yeah! American Muscle.
Todd C the skyline in low 10s the nova is a lot faster lol
***** is*
WRB nova walked on that skyline
2:20 Both of these cars are excellent. But something about the scream of a cross-plane V8 on full attack just gives me goosebumps.
FANBOYS.
FANBOYS EVERYWHERE.
AND HATERS. HATERS TOO.
whys it gotta be an argument lmfao they were just runnin the cars havin fun
daaamn...love the sound of the Nova going by at the end......
If that skyline had its other headlight, Itd have the extra 12 hp to squash that nova- no question.
It's been a while since I've seen this video, but damn the Nova makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck with that sound.
I'm a hardcore muscle guy but I bet you if both of these cars were stock the nissan would win... that is one seriously built nova!
yea me to but the nova would cost a fraction of what the Nissan would cost to modify it
no
Andrew Doyle....all the stock times for old american muscle from that era was on shitty bias plys and barley any skill ...weve all watched the vintage tests and its nothing but wheel spin in the quarter mile run...so with the worlds worst tires and possibly drivers the Nova SS stock ran 14.2 in the quarter ...and bone stock the GTR R32 ran a 13.9 ....on a good set of radials with a decent driver ...the nova will still prolly win ....if the nova is on bias plys and they drive like they did in those tests it will lose lol besides half the specs for those cars and many others were a lie for insurance....i watched a Super Duty Firebird run a 12.36 stock spec ...all it hac better than stock was a set of modern radial tires and a good driver
but their not stock wa wa wa
Beautiful Nova. The Skyline looks like it was a gts-r which more than likely means a 2.5 single turbo inline 6 in an FR setup compared to the GT-R setup awd 2.8 twin turbo inline 6.
The import sounds like the cleaning tool at my dentist
I like the skyline but even I find this funny
christian flores that would be the turbo
i cant take that car seriously.. missing a headlight and going against a nova
Ghost Hunter I think he was waiting to put an air vent in the headlight spot.
Basically tuners are great but sound like tooo much whistling and farting.. V8 muscle sounds big and tough. There is no replacing the sound of straight piped V8 muscle... it performs well and it sounds so bada$$. Chicks dig it. Dudes admire it. It is what it is.
oh yeahhh
I used to have a 1974 nova... man that baby hauled ass.. yall did a great job on her!! Lots of love.
The comments are:
15% muscle fans
14% JDM fans
70% "let's see how it will do on a track against the skyline."
1% people who like both
Japan is 100% Better than fake Ass v8's American pro mods
all these comments are so funny because I like imports and muscle
Same brother
Both cars are amazing, both have pros and both have cons. Big respect for both cars and their owners!
The guy in the Nova had good reaction time, nice launch too. Either of those cars would be nice to own.
Everything about muscle cars is just so much cooler..that vintage, old school platform will still be king 50 years from now..can't replicate that with these newer cars no matter how hard they try...long live the cammed idle, loud as hell flowmasters, double pumper big and bad v8s...
arodderz backing out the driveway is more thrilling with a big cammed V8 than anything in an import. these lil kids have no idea what its like riding in an angry Muscle car. If they did they wouldn't bother with plastic junk
good race love the nova im a muscle car type of guy..but people dont diss the 4 bangers ive seen little civics hit 9s at the track all motor no nos or turbos just sayin ....
real petrolhead would just appreciate both cars
this never gets old!!
I like the fact nova sticked to 1st gear in the entire 1/4 mile
You have any idea how high of rpm's that nova was cranking out to get that amazing sound? 😂
ID say around 8000 , idk this setup but if you take a 327 and put a stock 283 crank in it with supporting mods ( spring , pushrod etc ) a good carb and headers , it Will sound like that with no air filter on top , my dad have had a 67 back in the days and Rev to the moon without any problems
Never thought I’d see the day when people actually tried to put imports in the same class as American muscle. These machines have stood the test of time for a reason and there will never be anything, imports or otherwise, that will ever look, sound, and perform like these classic beasts.
Amen.......Them Ricers are like a Wal-Mart toaster........good while they last and throw them away!
I am getting goosebumbs when it Passes finish line
both cars are amazing. I love cars no matter the flavor. definitely into imports but i cant dismiss muscle, hell a '67 Fastback Mustang is by far one of my favorite Cars. both are kings in their own realm. Muscle cars are specifically for drag racing while imports/tuners are for the track where handling is a big part.
That import had no chance against the nova
They never do
The Reginator it was a totally unfair race the Nova was a obvious Drag Tuned car I don't have anything against american cars but you cant tell me that was a fair race and "They never do" all I can say there are Skylines putting over a 1000hp Supra's too I think a track is the true test of driver and car speed and torque can be worked out on a Dyno thats my opinion but I still go to drag events too haha
Benjamin Yates So what? Camaros, mustangs, chargers and many others American models put over 1000 real hp on the wheels, pure engine.
*****
You are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MORTARHATE77 Amen. Couldn't have said it better myself
What’s the engine on that Nova? Sounded great!
Ahh the memories of young me going through car vid comeback when this vid is recommended to me
For the nissan since it's 25 years old if I import it into the u.s I can drive it like any other car??
That Novas engine sounds SOOOO much better
hell yeah
+chobbler gobbler cobber yeah and to me like a fucking vacume so shut your bitch mouth about others opinions
That's something world will never beat. Italian, french, german, japanese. Noone will ever beat american V8 in sound. It is so unique in positive meaning. So "growly" :)
"Yeah I'll race u here's my 400 small block nova." "Oh here's my 1.9"😂
+That Ford Guy 2.5 liters in 6 cylinders? That is not impressive at all. Thats like .4L per cylinder. Tiny weak engine with massive upgrades
That Ford Guy it has the rb26 and was in it already
That was Cool! Thanks for showing!
People be hating and me wanting both the Nova and the R32. Love the Japanese sports cars in the 90s and 80s and love me some muscle cars in that era. Car community is degrading.
Muscles win! Every time!! Woo!! :D
fucking ignorance...
NismoNick240sx 😂😂😂 more like logic
HeroLegend555 true that man they do win
That's an actual quote from "fast and furious 2" - "Muscle cars always win".
two diffrent types of cars. Muscle cars cant turn and they are bulky AF. Their body serve no meaning. But its crazy fast. On the other hand import are better at conering and drift, but are slower. But also good for modifying.
Fuck!! That Nova sounded goooooooood..............
That Skyline sounded like a vacuum cleaner
the R32 wasnt even in it at the end. i wanna know what happened after the race. or a re-run
That old school Nova put an ass whoop'in on that Skyline! lol
Old school showing the kids how its done
Now that's what I'm talking about!! Way to represent the muscle cars baby!!!
I’ve had American muscle and Japanese speed. I can’t compare them. Loved them both in their own way.
apparently all the idiots on here are saying the skyline is stock, but you can clearly hear its turbo, pretty sick race though
People are too ignorant to read the description after the fact that the Nissan lost; The butt-hurt is strong with both sides of the communities, so much that the comment section has slowly started to make me lose brain cellz to thsdafn fkskeihas ds aknfdsjaoauehurh0023huedsa f0fh30hsdidfha08sdh ,.a,msd,.lakjahdsfv9uuwqbur...
Joey Johnson depends on which skyline
TheDongerSquad Yeah he's right. Definitely depends. There's a few sub-models. GTS GTST etc.
Now lets see them race on the track.
Reel Issues Let's also see which complies with modern day emission and noise regulations. That's the prime reasons these old cars are still modified - since they're from a time there hardly were any emission and noise laws and you could legally purchase an engine solely designed for racing as an aftermarket "accessory" . Old cars can easily bypass the modern day tough emission and noise laws and as such are still useful for straight-line drags - and little else. Without their dragrace slicks which are insanely wide they wouldn't even excel at that.
Wez Marauder i'm sorry but the tires on that nova didn't have anything close to an "insanely wide" drag slick on it. maybe 10" if that. its all about how you set up the suspension, their are guys that run 1,500 HP+ on small tires and still hook. as far as the whole thing about they're only useful in a straight line? there are a lot of guys who do autocross that would totally disagree.
***** i'd kill to have a duster haha and nope, poor thing shit the bed a few months ago. i've got a 2000 mustang on the way from Michigan in July and a 460 small block waiting for it. any special plans for that duster?
its a Windsor based 460 small block so yes, im probably going to hold off for a year or two to put it in and just drive the car stock.
in all honesty the R32 would win on a track, but we had some pretty good track cars too, cue the random elevator music: Camaro z28, Mustang boss 302, Challenger T/A, and the new hellcat, and to prove I am not a fan boy for muscle, There are many BMW's and euro cars that would walk all over the gtr, no offense to any skyline fans, but some of you are stupid for not looking hard enough for a good asswhoopin, example: BMW made 900horse race motors based on a m30 190hp block in the EARLY 80's look it up it's the m88/2
Tbh i was not expecting that. But that Nova is tuned in beautifully. Btw that seemed like longer than 1/4 mile to me, which is nice, let them stretch.
Actually maybe that was pretty damn close to a 1/4.
GREAT RACE, WOULD AN AMERICAN GMC TYPHOON OR HURRICANE AWD KEEP UP WITH THIS SKYLINE?
Muscle cars are beautiful they are art in motion most imports are appliances that you lose in the parking lot! Who cares how fast your import is.
wow! I couldn't have said it better myself, your a genius!
Have a look at the older Japanese cars Like the Skyline 2000 GT-R or Datsun 1500/510 or Even the Old Toyota KE/AE series. Then tell me there is no art in the Jap scene.
Japanese car makers were brilliant in reliability in the 60-70s, but design? With the models they got right, they copied European cars. Also, "most imports are appliances and that muscle cars are beautiful". I agree, but most American cars are not muscle cars. Speaking of beauty and performance, there are more exotic sports cars from over seas than there are nice looking muscle cars available. Imports tends to be more sophisticated too, hence why, in Europe at least, they don't import American cars. Now people buy Ford and different GM brands, but they are engineered and made in Europe for the European market (with exceptions of special orders from customers). That said, Ford has finally decided to make a eurospec version of the new Mustang, and sell it on the European market for the first time ever! Good news.
Not exactly, you see japanese motorisation was born after 1945, from the ashes of war, under cash-lending from USA, under american military supervision, under american guidance. It's not japanese style - it was in fact AMERICAN style. The japanese think different - hence the JDM. But JDM is all about plastic. The metal ones like nissan fairlady (even that name fairlady) were STRONG influence of USA. The art comes from american motorisation which had 90% influence on Japan. JDM arose from that 10% of japanese art style. And it's all about turbo and plastic.
All you need to gain weight here Gain Weight-F
+Dave Jenning its really works
So does meth.
That put a smile in my face every time
is that a 2speed powerglide? on the chevelle?
American built.. There is no substitute!
ca9na0da5 Not in America you pissed off little boy lol
Im not pissed off at all lol. little boy? you look like you're about 15.
lmao what happened to the hood? Oh wait it is American made, they probably forgot to put it on. American cars are nothing but a piece of shit heavy metal with big engines that look like a solid shit.
Fadi Beno Well that was lame lol they didn't forget to put anything. Probably the same reason the Nissan Skyline is missing a headlight. For more air intake. They are both great cars. The only thing shitty here is the comments. Comments like yours that make no sense.
Lol
Muscle beats import every time ;)
Was a quote from a movie but ok
Even that AWD couldn't keep up with that Nova!!
Jack Sheeley do you honestly believe the AWD was launched here? if so... you have alot more You-tubing to do
William Pritchard Damn... i think you might be right... its a GTS from the side skirts and the rear panels. Even then, this is no race for a Skyline to match up... even I admit.
I take back all the AWD stuff I said, thank you for correcting me.
keep dreaming.
Is that Nova running a two speed glide?
What country did this race took place? My guess is Australia.
American Muscle Baby!!!!
That's a GTS, so don't feel so special. 😂😂😂
Just bought a gas tank from Mike for my Nova, cool ass dude
I know I’m a JDM Enthusiast but man when your dream car gets beat by a muscle it hurts. The Novas owner just happened to invest in his car just a wee bit more that the R32’s owner. As a car enthusiast I love all three categories. Muscle! Euro!JDM!
Don't hate or make excuses when you loose
Guys who really know about cars will tell you that a car with the TURBOGLIDE AUTOMATIC transmission like the one in this Chevy Nova will have a slightly higher advantage over the the Nissan because all the Chevy driver had to do was to put the pedal to the metal and let the CVT turboglide tranny do the job...He didn't have to manually shift gears...The Nissan driver had to manually shift his 6 speed gearbox which would obviously cut speed between shifting..If that Chevy was a manual, I guarantee you it would lose to the Nissan.
The Nova has 2-speed Powerglide or a 350-400 Turbohydramatic 3-speed.Both
were designed in the 60's so their not CVT. There's about 20% power loss through an auto, if the Nova was a 4 or 5 speed manual it would have put more
power to the ground, and been faster if the driver powershifted and kept it straight.
Bud Light Yes, the Turboglide was a G.M. built CVT in the early 60's, so
I stand corrected. It was replaced by the much stronger Powerglide, which is
used in race classes like Street Outlaw and is built by many performance
trans. companies to reliably handle 2500+ HP. The reason I think the Nova
has a Powerglide is right at 2:00 I hear a change in the engine pitch. He either
pedaled it, or it shifted. My opinion it's the 1-2 shift, but I agree after that it
sounds like a CVT.
John Nelson The R32 weighs 3200 lbs and the Nova is 3300lbs..100 lbs weight difference is nearly negligible in this scenario, therefore, when it comes to body weight, this is a fair matchup....And wait..did you actually quote the Fast and the Furious???...Dude, Seriously???? LOL
HOLLY FUCKING SHIT... THAT'S WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT !!!
This guy knows whats good
that fucking race was determined by that transmission only... end of story
John Nelson actually mr. nelson you are wrong... a car that gets trailer ed home is not a match for a car that drives home... transmission here is a winning factor... not the cars... nor the engines involved...
I like the Skyline, it is an amazing machine, but there is something so raw about the sound of a V8 in a drag race that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
Que carrerón!! Dos monstruos de maquinas.....!
I just LOVE how they used the crappiest import they could. I mean, muscle all the way but cmon man
the r32 ran a 10 second quarter mile the next day
that r32 looks and sounds like shit and made all tuners look pathetic and it sounded like a rb20det not an rb26dett
+Ballistax Gaming it still ran a 10 second quarter mile... looks arnt eveything
now face an R35 skyline lol.
Skyline crappiest? I'm a '63 nova owner and I'm muscle guy but I don't think that skyline is crap. I think it was a good opponent. The more I'm proud that he lost.
BADASS NOVA
that nova looks and sounds badass. If i had a choice to drive either of the 2, it would be the nova
Good race, cool footage. Both awesome cars although I wouldn't use an import for a drag race car... More of a track car for corners where v8 muscle is the shit for drags.
that RB engine needed a lil more tuning, was sounding off, no wonder it lost...timing was off badly. Proper tuning and a better driver and it would have handed that ancient bucket on a oily platter.
You mean with Paul Walker behind the wheel lmao. That nova could have had 4 dead cylinders and doughnut tires out back and still would have spanked that kia...
never under estimate the power of a straight 6 young grasshopper, cause that RB could be in that same ol rust bucket and the v8 in the R32 and would still do some damage
^ I sound like a fake, you fucktard, I build Rb's for alot of my friends I know how an RB suppose to sound, you dumbass, just because you from the states doesn't make you feel you're some kind of god....do yourself and favor and FUCK OFF!!!
since when navy seal, millionaire and martial artist got to do with engines???....I don't give a fuck about that...fuck yor navy seal and all that shit....either you talk some sense about tuning or simply pipe down and move on.
My word you idiots with this navy seal thing pisses me off.
lol at the idiots that always assume if you can see an open element filter on a v8 car and lightweight rims that IT MUST BE BUILT OMG POOR STOCK SKYLINE...lol calm down..that skyline could have a massive turbo on it which is most likely did and you don't have to see any flashiness to tell if a car is "built". I've seen tons of stock looking cars with extremely pricey bottom ends coupled with huge turbo(s) and you would never know it's making 750hp
why dont you try to put the nova on a circuit and see what happens?
God I love the sound of that super charger
So many butthurt skyline fans
Right? Lol
Ricky Smith you guys get butt hurt when you are asked to do any thing but race in a straight line...
And i only give props to the Nova Transmission in this video... that's it, that's why it wont...
If the R32 would of been launched, then we could witness a better race for sure.
With the Nova still being a top end winner... in this case only
Funny thing is, that skyline drives home... the Nova gets trailer-ed home...
Thats a big difference there too, most muscle car guys never admit... 3 speed or 4 speed auto trans...
COOL STORY BRO !!! learn some AWD foot work and then we will talk about better driving.
not, just flooring it and hitting nitrous switches through out every pass... You got a BIGASS ENGINE it should win !!!
240SSONLY drag racing takes skill bruh. Its not easy goin a to b
i agree to some extent... RT and other factors are the skills needed for drag racing but on-road racing requires far more brain fat... to get this going lol
Happy Motoring
Those who can drag, those who can't drive in circles...
It was cute when the skyline started to rev it's engine
Why does the nova whistle like that?
How much cash changes hands during such a race?
The description says the nova is N/A, but we can clearly hear the supercharger, the nova is a monster though, look at the quarters during line up and they're covered in rubber!
PhAnToM PhoeNixx ? hearing things mate
PhAnToM PhoeNixx the description is correct if I could post pics of the engine bay I would N/A motor #Murica
PhAnToM PhoeNixx All I hear is that turbo from the Skyline. That Nova is all motor man.
Plus if anything he could just have a slight noisy gear, all engine from that nova and that's easy to tell
See that Holley sittin nice and low? No blower
This race the nova is the winner.
No more arguing.
If u dont like someone talking shit on here, then get his number and address and go fuck him up.
I think people just dont like each other anymore.
I own a evolution 8 but if i beats someone or if someone beats, i would always be a good sport and say it a good race.
Its all for fun. Remember that!!!!!
back in 1972 my friend had a 1971 nova SS with a 396 4-speed, i had a 69 chevelle SS 396 with a turbohydromatic, i raced him twice then and he beat me twice, both our cars were stock, novas back then were light and the SS package was identical to the 65 vette
Pretty cool to randomly come across this video
Just like ole buddy said in 2 Fast 2 Furious ,"GOOD OLD AMERICAN MUSCLE"
Major Wilkes another quote from fast and the furious
"Muscle beats import, every time". This is from the 4th one I believe.
R32 Skyline GTS-turbo(2.0L)
maplefreak64 rb26 engine with awd
terror bite no it was GTS
T Ra Pz Z lol the description says nissan skyline gts with rb26 swap and awd conversion
Inline 6 vs a v8 built not a good match up but the skyline is still the better car technically.
Isaac Garcia in what way?
Those American Muscle cars aint a joke! I'm an Import guy but that launch still doesnt make up for the loss of about 3-5 car lengths. That Nova was FAST
Two of my favorite cars, early r32 gtst and Chevy nova. Wow.. I want both, I have a sister to the r32 a rps13 180sx makes 400hp 383lbs torque, Weight 1088kg 2400lb its lightened, 367bhp per tone...
but out of those two examples I'd take that nova.. looks and sounds badass, I'm not into the show car examples
The Skyline didn't get a very good launch, especially for awd
Majority of the R32's were Rwd. plus they used the 2.5 Inline six's the last of the skyline's (R34's) had the 3.0's coming out of the factory with 300+hp off a .5-.7 bar boost. That's pretty good. You can make them 600+hp engines for around 6k. That's dirt cheap for the power. JDM > any American make...period.
zach Im pretty sure the r34s had rb26s not 3.0s just sayin
Yes they did, It was not directly from Nissan. A couple crazy Aussie's made Hybrid blocks that was bored to 3.0L and they put RB26 stroker kits on them. Most common Skyline that used that set up was a Tommy Karia. Some company called Oiken or something makes those engines now. Yes the standard market engine was ether a single or twin turbo RB26 but if you had the cash you can drop a 3.0 block in it.
awd sucks for drag racing, unless its an automatic
eh..
FUCK YEAH!! AMERICAN MUSCLE!!!!!!
I have a 69 nova ..but my heart love this 2 cars ..
Why does the Nova have to be pushed back?
murica!!
Did that Nova even shift? Sounded like it was just screamin at like 7k rpms the whole way!!!
Yes it did. That thing cant push 120 in 1st gear as badass as it is lol
That Nova is on another level of BEAST!!!! At the end, sounds like it just broke the sound barrier when it shoots past. Gotta love American Muscle!!!!!
No sweeter sound in the world than a big American built V8 burning hydrocarbons inefficiently at seven grand.
That little Nissan can go suck some sake with its tail between its legs.
Totally agree with you brother. Big block V8's all day long!!! Screw "ecoboost" and "fuel-efficient", gimme 8 cylinders ALL GAS!!! ALL THE TIME!!!
CrazyBear65 *hater spotted*
you wanna drag race ? drive a muscle car !
wanna drag race? Take a lightweight chassis that can fit a V12. Take a V12. Do the proper upgrades and so on so forth. You can now drive really fast in a long straight line. Congrats.
samuele inzaghi well i can at least respect your viewpoint, unlike the other person i had to respond to. points taken and acknoweldged Smauele,
kind regards to you
samuele inzaghi transaxles and cvs dont hang with this kind of abuse thats why american muscle not new age american muscle reigns king in drag racing
samuele inzaghi The Hennessey Venom GT is built for max top speed, not acceleration.
While the 1/4 mile time is impressive, it's still slower (though not by much) than a Mc Laren P1 and a Porsche 918 Spyder, and both these cars have less horse power than the Venom GT.
There are many cars out there that would destroy the Venom GT on the 1/4 mile. There is a tuned 69 camaro that produces 2500 HP (over double of the Venom GT) and does the quarter mile in under 7 seconds. I think it did like 6.52 seconds. It is currently considered the fastest street legal car in america.
The Venom GT has it's merits. I'm sure it handles better, and the top speed will be higher due to gear ratios.
joemann7971 The venom gt also spins badly out of the hole due to having more power
