Christopher Reeve's portrayal of The Man Of Steel is the most iconic;the first one that impressed the idea of him as the hero into my brain,often duplicated,never imitated.
Cavil came the closest in seemingly being as heroic and comic book like but his character was unfortunately written badly! At this time I'm gonna give Gunn and the new guy Corenswet the benefit of the doubt because he certainly looks the part!

Yep! When you take both parts (Kal-El and Clark Kent), Christopher Reeve gave a great performance. I was always impressed with CR’s acting chops when he would go from Clark to Superman in the same scene. He was very believable. I would liked to have seen Cavill able to act as Clark Kent. I think he could have developed a good Clark Kent for himself. 😊

I’m thinking the Joker 2 falls flat after the initial opening pop.
They spent big on name recognition and possibly effects and esthetics, and as of late that usually spells out to a disconnect with the audience. If the story telling isn’t on point then people will reject it after the remember-berries wear off.
Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling need to start choosing roles where they actually act. Enough slapping on stars for cash. Let these actors actually show us their acting chops.

Pitt has been the same character in every movie...even snatch...just like clooney and willis...willis had some range...but its a small one

The problem is the lack of good story-telling and writing. Even great actors won’t shine if the material sucks or is just so so. As an aside, Pitt in “Burn After Reading” is gold.
I know X-ray girl has been working out in preparation for the trip to South America, but I haven't actually seen her in a few months as I normally listen to the livestreams as a podcast. The Covid lockdowns broke movie goers of going to the cinema every week. They now mostly either watch it on streaming, buy it on home video and/or just don't bother until there is something they really want to see.
Yup. Screen buffs locked up put some money into a decent home theatre set up and comfy seating.
We had a bunch of season pass holder pals of various sports and 4-5 of them stopped coming after all the coof nonsense just cos they preferred coverage at home after setting up quality man-caves

DARK was the Night, is a really good movie, IMO. I've watched it 3 times now. He plays a small town sheriff and is the lead actor. Horror science fiction.

I was born in 89 and I had no idea what fall guy was. When I watched the trailer I saw Ryan gosling and just clicked off thinking it was just some random movie. They really didn't market it well at all.
Gosling is one of the better actors out there but his beat stuff was done in independent films like Drive!

It was watchable until Season 4.
Had two coworkers at the time who couldn't shut up about it, so I watched up to the third or fourth Neegan episode. There's some legitimately good stuff but it's also a prime example of overhyping. Not to mention how writers strikes and the need for a network show to fill X hours of airtime results in a loooooooot of garbage/filler.
I love the counter mog top Xray put on because she knew Lauren was coming on. Both ladies "Be fine" but the counter didn't go unnoticed.

I think making a LOTR movie that everyone loves will tell the entire world that the ONLY reason nobody liked Rings Of Power is because men don't enjoy watching the inexplicably op Galadriel 2.0's nose twitching "I hate men" in morse code. And I think that's a message that we NEED them to get in a world where the official explanation for Marvel's downfall is "superhero burnout". NO, IT ISN'T. IT'S THEM, NOT US.

32:00 Ryan's point about losing Caesar in the franchise and how it diminished the story going forward reminds me of my experience with the Assassin's Creed franchise. After they killed off Desmond Miles, it seemed like there was a degree of separation from the characters and their story because the perspective had shifted to someone who you didn't even see or know anything about. Caesar, like Desmond, was the glue that stuck everything together. Once you lose that, it all starts to become more disjointed.

The dumb thing is that it doesn't have to. Writers are just lazy -- or else not given enough freedom / direction
even though i loved the desmond sections, really if AC had a more coherent overall narrative in general they could have carried on without the modern day sections and been just fine - though it definitely didn’t help that those sections became boring, meaningless or outright nonexistent after desmond left the picture.

@cosmictreason2242 It's been a long time since I played it, but in AC3 Desmond explained that he was shown by Juno that Lucy was a Templar spy. She was going to betray the Assassins once they got the Apple. After an internal struggle, Desmond gave in and let his body be used to kill Lucy.

Question about superchats: What determines if your superchat gets read? I did a $10 through YT and a $10 through Streamlabs, both 10-15 mins before the start, and neither of them made it onto the show. Is it just descending by dollar amount until they run out of time? I’m not bothered that my superchat didn’t get read, but I’m concerned that maybe the transactions didn’t go through at all. How do I confirm if Gary got my superchat $$$?
I'm not sure how to confirm it went through, but Gary does do a superchat catch-up stream when he remembers. I thought he was doing them once a week.
Also if they are on topic or something stands out and they catch it during stream.
