- Building the Blades Of Chaos from God Of War!!!!
I'm making Kratos' Blades Of Chaos to scale! They will be perfectly accurate to my size so that I can wield them in real life like Kratos does in the games! They have to be hollow and made from a combination of steel and aluminum to even have a chance of being wieldable. Watch me WIN at welding also!!

The amount of work these projects actually take is astonishing. I’m loving this project.
"The test video where I become Kratos"
If you dont go shirtless with a bald-cap and red body paint, I will be severely dissapointed
White and red* Body paint
@Samuel Henkle man up with gold bond gods dont feel pain
and find some random kid to yell "BOY!" at
"Use an aluminum cutting disc." Ah. That sounds smart. Thank you for making me aware of their existence XD
"Trying to take a blade that would usually weigh 50 pounds, and make it weigh like five."
Meanwhile real one-handed swords weight like 2.5. This thing's already a monster just swinging it _by the handle,_ never mind the way that weight will be magnified when you try to use it as a rope dart @___@
I guess thats why they're called the BLADES OF CHAOS. This build was very laborious. I hope they were worth the work. Great video as always! XD
Underrated comment right there!
Hey! I have a suggestion! Instead of making the blades completely hollow, you can make the tip of the blade completely solid so when you throw them they will go in the direction of the extra weight! I know I explained the idea really badly but hopefully it makes sense! :)
No, you explained it well
Lawn Darts
KidHacksmith thank you!
@@Arckanex No need!
this guy over here thonking big brain plays
Thank you for sharing not only your ideas and successes, but especially your failures and struggles and how you work through them. It is inspiring and educational.
I wonder what the cars going past thought whilst you were spinning around in the field.
Probably the same things the neighbors of other YTers like Colin Furze and the Hacksmith think when they see them outside doing... stuff.
"He's at it again, bring in the kids and the dog!"
With the clamps on it, it looks like some crazy blade creature.
I'm so stoked to see your final product !
I can see where your time with Hacksmith rubbed off on you, lol. His old videos he's constantly said, "Grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain't."
Thought that was AVE that said that
@@drkn9t tbh, it's probably a very old welder saying
I cannot wait for the test video it’s gonna be amazing
One word to describe this video as well as the last two... ASTONISHING!!!!!
"thats tricky"
"hm tricky"
its tricky to rock around,
to rock around,
thats right on time,
its tricky
tricky tricky tricky tricky.
This dude could make preparing a sandwich sound complicated, jeez !
I just made tuna salad sandwiches. Want a blow-by-blow?
@@markfergerson2145 I hope by "blow" you mean blow torch
The first game I played and got into on PS2 was god of war. The story line and gameplay was so beautiful. And for you to make the blades I'm jealous. I wanted to do things like this years ago but lacked the skills and tool. Thank you so much for this. You truly are the best at cosplay props and art, the smarts behind the builds, and the great videos that you provide.
Looking good keep up the good work.
Man you put a lot of work in this stuff.
just the blade part of it looks so badass! imagine having just the blade pit thrown with a chain connected
As someone who works at a blacksmith/medieval weapons shop (Sabersmith look us up lol) my heart goes out to you, We don’t make hollow weapons and not nearly as much welding but still
You're a Jairus of all trades !
Hell yeah, I've been waiting for this video. Great work man
I applaud your exceptional level of patience.
I have never welded but I feel like after watching this I have enough knowledge to go and just do it
A tip for future projects. Make a wooden model that you build the metal pieces on top. Much less "hovering" and you can perfect the wooden model easier, which translates to the metal model. Also you can hammer pieces in place instead of tacking it after its in shape.
A sanding flap disc on an angle grinder, is amazing for shaping wooden models. Then you just cover it in metal, tack weld, hammer the shit out of it until you are happy, then fully weld it, grind it, polish it, tape it, paint it.
Also you need a free standing magnifying glass for your welding. You're going to be replacing that helmet lens pretty soon.
If you're going to be testing the airflow of these blades alot, maybe make a rig that swings it for you. Record it, don't watch up close, if something fails it will be bad
I just watched these three Back to back and it all started because of a recommendation. CZcams is getting its act together
Needless to say I am very amused. I love this kind of work and even have a certification as a welder. This looks like (and in my opinion is) some of the most fun things one can do with their time. Even the little tedious trails are worth it when your making something your interested in.
Also your editing (or editor) is hilarious 🤣
Sweet
I can tell the test video is gonna be epic! This is a pretty cool project Jairus :)
Only 583 views after 13 minutes? The algorithm is murdering you dude
1000 subs with no content it’s sad cause he’s so much more talented than a lot of other people and by far puts in the most effort...
@@martinbissonnette257 the algorithm need to be changed so that people who put in this much work can actually live
Absolutely fantastic videos as usual. Keep up the great work!
I came across your videos yesterday, and I really like them. I wanted to say I'm subscribing!!!!
Try using leather work gloves instead of tig gloves. They give you the same protection (other then heat when welding for a while in one go) and makes it much easier to work.
Might it be the aerodynamics of the blades? Would giving them a slight wedge cross-section help them "fly" level?
once you find the right angle of the handle to make the blades fly right you should make a plaster cast of it and try to make a mold of plaster and clay. in theory, you could make a hollow shell of iron just thick enough to not to deform on swing and impact but light enough to wield then add the handle and guard. the sides can be much thinner and the edge thicker this way too. I'm sure you can make an arc furnace with your skills with a few tungsten rods, some current and some thermal plaster bricks.
Welding sounds like someone ripping the fattest fart to ever be ripped
If you put something like a kite tail on the back end it might cause enough drag to let it soon blade first.
🎶 "It's tricky, tricky; it's tricky, tricky, tricky!"
'Boi plays with blades while father is out hunting'
Bro this is epic!
Nice work man!
You could ask a chain player of a jugger team to test it's full potential. We know how we use something like that, or I do.
Greetings from Germany
Coool. Glad I found your channel
Underrated.
Ares, Poseidon, Hermes, Hades, Helios, Hercules, Zeus: **sweating nervously**
This is so cool
I rly hope that coming down to the end of this build you go ALL-IN and wear a bald cap.
New sub cant wait to see what happens in part 4
I misread the thumbnail's text as "BLADES OF CHADS". Now, I have some expectations of a Chad, so I was expecting a lot of tribals. Was not disappointed.
Your cameraman's got some balls to stand there filming while you swing that blade knowing there's a chance it could fly off and kill him
Oo that's dope as
hi the blades looks good , i look the chains its soo large ,
thinking in make moviments with blades , think about that
posdata: ty for your time and for make this master piece of videogames greetings from Venezuela
It's almost as though video-game physics aren't the same as real-world physics... :D
Nice my guy
Amazing
Love you Jairus
Oh god those welds
You could fill the blades with a little sand to get the right weight shift
I liked for u showing us this is hard
That's tricky. Mmmm. Tricky.
You should get the mountain to test it
You mentioned the residual stress in the metal from the bending process...would tempering them in an oven help resolve that? or would that allow the stresses to subtly un-warp the metal while it's hot...
First half hour squad hell yes. First 15m squad F*** yeah!
could you provide the link where you bought the guard file? I am looking to make a lightsaber for a God of War Star Wars mashup cosplay and I want to add some blades of chaos look to the sabers.
Thanks!
Clampy 🗜 clamp
Daamn, man. You must then make a spinning thing that will rotate swords at very fast speed

What kind of welder you using?

What is the "this thing" he found in his friends garage
But how would you be able to throw the blade with the chain and return it 1-handed? I think you're going to need some kind of swinging expert to do that.
Almost would have been better making a foam form, then rather put a core in it that the aluminum won't adhere to and do a lost wax cast, or make the mold from wood or foam, make a smaller core and pour around it....
Yeet
I don’t understand how the algorithm works... like wtf your videos are amazing but get a lot less views than other maker channels on the platform
Because he talks too much and it gets boring after 10 mins. His videos are 3 times as long....
Doctor C. But that’s what makes channels are supposed to be

Can't wait to see you shave your hair just to become kratos, jk hahahaa peace ✌✌✌
Skip weld
Thank you elon musk
Very cool
Just friction mix meld it duh (this is total sarcasm)
No one could follow you like these are instructions. You definitely need to stop saying you'll explain later. Iether way you have a good personality and it's a very interesting watch
Im a huge GoW fan and this is basically p*rn to me
Kratos better watch out
"It's welding not rocket science"
...
Fella. Cant you just epoxy it for the time being and then grind or whatever
Epoxy is just a little bit flammable.
@@markfergerson2145 unless you're planning a trip to hell, 😁 my point is why weld it at all when you could do a pro glue job. Either way. I love the project it was one of my favorite playstation games. Till i found fallout vegas 👍
@@eldaine You know he's gonna whack those blades into and through stuff, and I don't think epoxy would stand up to that.
But I meant that epoxy will smoke and could burn during grinding.
@@markfergerson2145 epoxy (to me) counts as a general term. There are too many types of glues. Surely there is a not so flamible way to thrill us followers
If youre going over the top you could be putting dynamite on it. Is also not advisable. I hate to repeat myself. It can be glued and not welded. Full stop

that is the most tacky sword ever.
Petrino its not finished yet
And then Kratos lost his pink and green hotdogs...
Why do people stand over the metals they are welding breathing in the toxic air?
In 20 years, you won't know who you are.
The amount of effort they put in that blade is amazing but no enough and the ending was shit
to much whining /unsubing now
