I'm making Kratos' Blades Of Chaos to scale AND FLYABLE! Which is especially relevant since God of War 5 is coming! They will be perfectly accurate to my size so that I can wield them in real life like Kratos does in the games! They have to be hollow and made from a combination of steel and aluminum to even have a chance of being wieldable.

Looking really great 👍🏻 For what it's worth I've had very inconsistent results with aluminium black too. I certainly would not have faith in it going into a project like I would gun blue.

Oh my, You did a fantastic job! It looks so great and it looks like you put many hour into the building of the swords. I’ve seen a few channels who made the Swords of Chaos, but I can say, with all honesty, yours by far and away, looks better then anyone else who have tried at it. Just the detail alone blows me away but, to have seen all the steps you’ve taken, that’s a masterpiece that’s gonna look awesome hanging on your wall or in a collectors case.
Im looking forward to showing showing all of us the finished product, it’s insane.

Frickin' awesome man. You busted ass for that finish on both the aluminum and the steel, showed us how to screw it up *and* how to fix it. I just love that *not* following the instructions is what worked! I felt your disappointment and sense of failure when it wasn't working so I hope you don't mind me feeling the sense of success when it did.

Hey Jairus, if you need to gauge temperature they have special pens for that, they melt at specific temps.
When you´re used to Michealcthulhu´s weapons splitting wood in half with sheer weight and force and Jarius´s swords just leave a mild dent in the wood, lol.
Jarius should do a live stream of his workshop so we can see the goofiness unfurl.

I reckon the max level blades would’ve been a little cooler, this still rocks though.
Yea I've found having some heat in the material helps color the metal better and adding oil after helps deepen the color but having used both alum a black and gun blue a lot some times it just doesn't want to work.

@JAIRUS OF ALL You're effectively shot blasting with the needle scaler. Once the oxide is on and peined it's in the material it should adhere better.
If you scale/pein before you apply the oxide the change in metallurgy inhibits oxide formation. That's why, as a process, it's used as a corrosion inhibitor. You'll need to sand back a bit to give your oxide a chance to adhere.
I feel like for the next god of war video the creators are going to be coming to these videos to get specs on the weapons

The reason the aluminum black was coming off in the post needle scaled side and not the pre needle scaled side is because the needle scaler probably beat the coating into the aluminum

Fun fact, the Blades of Chaos were called that because Ares wanted Kratos to CREATE CHAOS
They have flap disks for aluminum that dont get buggered up
I haven't seen any in stores. I'll have to check amazon. Didn't know they existed!
@@jairusofall use old dryed up plumbers silicone to clean sand paper ,or preety much any abrasive that gets clogged.

Should do Scorpions kunai spears from Mortal Kombat
They are taking as long to build as it would have taken to build up the strength to lift them if they had been made of solid aluminum. 3D print, sand mold, molten aluminum casting and then spent the next 2 months at the gym so that you are able to lift them. :)

Well sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic and the ingame detail for how would just be called magic so yup, science blades.
It was the WD 40 on the flap discs that caused the black pigment to not stick. After you hit it with the torch the WD 40 burned off, so it stuck That's my theory anyway.
