- The Fallout Broadsider is finished!!! It's a fully functional real life recreation of a hand held Naval cannon!!! The cannon is a 3D printed facade over high pressure PVC that is mounted to shock absorbers mounted on a steel frame. Basically it's a high powered, oversized, tennis ball launcher! But this real life Fallout weapon can launch anything that fits!

Here's an idea, the hacksmiths make a real power armer set from fall-out 4 and jairus of all could possibly interchange the plastic barrel of the broadsider to a metal barrel, but then again thats probally to much to ask for isnt it?

A trick we used to use is to put projectile at tip of barrel, add propellant then push projectile in to “compress” the fuel air mixture. It seemed to also help with getting some fuels to mix proper and be combustible.
During the initial testing, I was pretty disappointed that it neither penetrated the box nor tipped it.

i'd have concerns that the back pressure could blow apart the cannon. would have to be a loose fit and have wadding behind it to do it somewhat safely
It probably can if it was frozen but if cooked then it could turn to a shotgun

Change the spray cap on the starter fluid can use a wd40 spray cap 2 quick puffs should work.

Brilliant. Loved the shooting. The glowing inside of the barrel just after a shot in slow motion looked awesome. You should shoot a GoPro (or cheap copy) out of the end in a separate video.

Me and a buddy of mine tested all of this with a Potato Cannon years ago and what we found is Right Guard Sport deodorant had the most force with the largest flame. We actually knocked over a Dryer with a potato and dented the side completely. The Potato was obliterated in the process. Try it out.

When I was a kid in the 70s we used to make mortars out of tennis ball cans, using hobby rocket fuel. Sending flaming tennis balls into near earth orbit was among the coolest of my memories.

One my relative used to work in a science magazine. One of their projects was a "potato cannon" powered by propane gas. The first thing they did with tye cannon? They shattered a window of a rival magazine.
A canister round full of golfballs or ping pong balls would be really neat!

Putting a laser sight on a mobile cannon is one of the most fallout-y thing you could probably do

If you put the tennis ball in the bore first then spray in the fuel, you can add a bit extra then push the ball to the back and you’ll get more power because there’s compressed mixture in the combustion chamber
