Welcome to the Letterman CZcams Channel, home to all your favorite clips from Late Night and Late Show - as well as conversations with the writers, producers and performers who helped make it all happen. These highlights have been artisanly-produced, carefully-curated, and chosen completely at random by an old computer that used to pick numbers for the New York Lotto back in the 90’s. - Zábava
That voice. Was abc. Golden
My favorite, nostalgic voice....the great Ernie Anderson!
I took about a decade off from television, and when I started watching again, it took me a while to realize that voice overs during the closing credits of a show were no longer a thing. This voice is great nostalgia.
They run the end credits in 4 seconds.
I still play his Winds of War and North and South promos to relax.
His introduction of the pilot movie for BATTLESTAR GALACTICA is classic
This brings back memories. I can vaguely remember his voice from ABC promos.
My favorite was "Tonight on Happy Days..."

"8 Central and Mountain" used to stay stuck in my head. 😂
Mine too! I was just a kid back in the 70's/early 80's and for a while, I never understood what that meant plus I live on the East Coast! 🤣@@BassGods
What a great sense of humor this man had about himself!
The father of Paul Thomas Anderson, for those of you who would like to know.
I bet he and Conway were a blast to hang out with. “Yip Yip!”
It is great to see this! Ernie Anderson inspired me to become a voice-over artist. I remember when he introduced the Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman. I was psyched when I realized that having a cool voice on TV was a job!
His voice and ABC were synonymous. You heard him, you knew to tune in to that network.
If you’re a 70s/80s kid: “The LOOOOOVE Boat”
If you’re a 90s kid like me: “Ladies & Gentlemen, Bob Saget”
Danny Dark must have been jealous of an ABC guy on his network.
.
Yes.....remember that WELL, of course......but one of his I STILL quote to this day, was when ABC would run a series of quick promos for a few of their shows that were on a particular night (whatever night that was), which he ended by saying,
"...... *right after, **_HAWAIIAN HEAT_* ........." (a long-forgotten show that lasted all of 10 episodes back in 1984).....
.
America's stupidest videos began in 1989.. .not 90s.
Between This guys voice-overs and the 1980s HBO Movie intros. It's like life was so much better back then.
being from cleveland grew up with him love him
Ernie might be familiar to some as the voice behind the Star Trek: TNG promos during its initial three and a half seasons: "Next time on Starrrrr Trek: The Next Generation!"
This guy is awesome
Yes we VO folk have our odd warm-ups.
Next time on an all new exciting episode of Star Trek - The Next Generation!
"Herman Wouk's ... The Winds... of War..."
David wouldn't have heard a Vega$ promo in 1977. Vega$ didn't premiere until 1978.
Great how he changed his voice depending on the show.
love ernie
Ghoulardi was not unlike a lot of the sketches Dave did, taking it's cue from Steve Allen shows. Goofy stunts and a lot of silly patter.
PTA’s Dad
Ah, beat me to it!
Just read that on Wiki. Fascinating…I love learning stuff like this. I’m sure I’ve heard his voice on old reruns but didn’t know his background.
Yep. I don’t know if it still is, but early on, PTA’s production company was even named after Ghoulardi.
Never knew that he was the promo voice.
Today is also PTA's birthday. Born June 26th 1970. He was 12 years old when this aired.
It would have been nice to get the full end credits plus the worldwide pants ident.
Miss Dave
Trivia: Ernie Anderson Severe As The Announcer On America's Funniest Home Videos With The Late Bob Saget
VEGAS didnt air until 1978.
Now I see why Paul cast Philip Baker Hill in Sydney.
And Boogie Nights and Magnolia.
Rooooots.
Who is the new voice of ABC right now?
Ghoulardi!!!!!!!
PT Anderson's dad!
He made a living doing this?
Yes! His voice is all over all the late 70's and 80's shows that were on ABC! He was a part of my childhood in a way. :)
Ever heard of a guy named Don LaFontaine?
such a strange interview.
