The positive impact Erik ten Hag has had on Manchester United already, is unquestionable. He’s getting the best out of some forgotten players. But he is also playing some players out of position.
JJ Bull explains why Ten Hag is playing Bruno Fernandes, Wout Weghorst, Luke Shaw and Jadon Sancho out of position.

since he's come in, Ten Hag has been a problem solving manager because he's not had all the parts of his ideal system, and that's what makes his current team so interesting, as you can see it slowly transitioning into his preferred style as time goes on

@@colouredIncognito Classic case of "whataboutism" by you there. Identifying that United do something isn't the same as denying that others do, too.
The difference for us, as United fans, is that we had 20 years of near-perfection and the standards/ demands are far higher than elsewhere.
But no United fan is going to be made an apologist for higher standards because other clubs and fans can't raise theirs.
When Roy Keane demanded higher standards, the solution was to step-up and meet those demands. Not to blame him for being demanding and cry. That's what too many fans of other clubs do and feeds the "small club mentality" view.
This is also a video specifically about United and our issues so it's a weirdly misappropriated comment.

Assisting or playing quick one two are not the only way to create goals, making space for others is also another way of creating goals which usually goes under appreciated and Weghorst does that way better than Martial on a consistent basis.

This is an excellent analysis of the strengths of the United players and how and why Trn Hag has deployed them but at the end of the day , it also points out the frailties and limitations in the squad. Wenghorst isn’t hat great in the air, Antony in essence is a one trick pony and for all of Fernandes’ strengths he does give the ball away too often and may be suspect in a ball possession system. Put it this way, despite this keen analysis, United have a goal difference of
..6. They just don’t score enough to be an elite team. Rashford has been their life line this year and Ten Hag has been a world class Manager. Add a bit of good fortune and you end up with a Trophy and a 3rd place standing in your keague

Hes also the only truly creative midfielder they have. Sancho/Anthony for all their skills play it way too safe. Its why their creative stats are awful. Bruno goes too far the other way and it can be costly but its productive. Erikesen is a liability in the 10 as he cant press. World class gets thrown around too much but hes a top 5 10 in the league comfortably and arguably second only to Oedegaard (who hasn't been doing it as long and may just be in a purple patch?) if you consder KDB more of an 8 in City's system

Didn't work when playing Bruno on the LW against Pool did it? It's not even playing to his strength and did nothing to exploit Pool's weakness at RB. Instead he played into Liverpool's strength by allowing their attacking Fullbacks to go up higher onto the pitch.
Wanting to make things unpredictable is one thing when he tries to play the players according to their skillset, but at the same time he need to do it when it can actually exploit the opponent's weaknesses instead of strengthening their stronger areas.
You can try and impose your tactical principles on your own players but it won't work if it helps your opponent play to their strength. If he recognizes this and learn to be pragmatic at times, he can prevent similar humiliating defeats.

The first video I have to disagree with. At united weighorst Bruno and rashford still pretty much play at their respective position. However ten hag wanted weighorst to regularly drop deep into attacking midfield, creating space for rashy to cut in, while Bruno drift wide. So technically it is from the movement from the players that created these situations rather than they started right in that position. In games there are still times rashy seen with the ball outwide, weighorst as a ball moving hub and bruno charging forward from deep. In conclusion, this is just not correct at all

Van gaal used dirk kuyt as wing back left and righ winger in 2014 . Koeman used virgil van dijk as striker mid way in game back in the 2018 national team .
Al players rotate in dutch teams . even AZ alkmaar used suguware a wing back as right winger scoring several goals in the prosses . As dutch teams dont have a designated striker , most goals come from the rest of the team .

This is why United is now a far superior team than ever were under Ole. Some fans try to justify with misleading arguments like the finishing positions and the top 6 record, but went behind far too often against teams that sat deep. United were utterly clueless when the opposition didn't want the ball, but this season the players look like they know they have a plan/routines to try to break through when they arrive in the final third.
ETH will still need to swap out a few players including De Gea. It's quite clear that Weghorst isn't his first choice, but remains a better option to fix De Gea's generally poor ability on the ball and also presses far better than Ronaldo ever would. I don't think he rates either of McFred, and the right flank (RB/RW) positions may still need some addressing.
