    • @BigMoneysLife
      @BigMoneysLife Před 2 lety +10

      @@carlapowell9403 There's several ways to do it. The easiest way is to break the chocolate up in microwave safe bowl in small pieces so it's easier to melt, then pop it in the microwave for 15 second intervals, giving it a stir in between to help with the melting until it's smooth. I wouldn't go any farther than 15 second bursts though, because the chocolate could burn.
      Another way to do it, is the double boiler method. Get yourself a small saucepan of water, get it to a simmer over low heat, then place a large bowl over the water to let the steam melt the chocolate, but be aware that the water does NOT touch the bottom of the bowl, or the chocolate will burn. You should only need about an inch or so of water to do the job, won't take long at all. Once the chocolate is melted and smooth, remove it from the heat and use to your heart's content! :)

    Hi Catherine, thank you sincerely for this video. Your sweet disposition is an added bonus! I have used your fudge recipe before with excellent results. I have used white chocolate to decorate the top with swirls. Yesterday, I used Reese's Peanut Butter and though it tastes fantastic, it did not set up as well as Skippy and Peter Pan. Plus, I could not remove the jar cover around the edges to dispose of the remaining aluminum so had to microwave the peanut butter in a bowl. With the peanut butter, I added Heath Bits and marshmallows with salted caramel frosting. It is delicious and my husband loves the salted taste mixed in the caramel and the other ingredients. Butterscotch with the salted caramel frosting is tasteful too!
    If you are using a larger container, simply place in the microwave, removing the paper/foil cover, for a minute or two. Then pour 2 to 3 cups into a measuring container and place in a bowl to mix with other ingredient/ingredients.

    Made this recipe today. I used crunchy peanut butter and whipped vanilla frosting. It turned out fantastic! My husband said all it needed was a layer or chocolate and we’d have homemade Reese’s cups. Also that was a great suggestion in using the parchment paper. It too worked well. Another You tube recipe added to my holiday menu.
    Thank you

    I came across your channel when looking for a caramel desert for when my older Brother (64) visited on Thanksgiving and it was a hit. For anyone interested, it's call Ritz Cracker Caramel Desert. My younger Brother (60) is coming for Christmas and wants fudge. I'm making some the old fashion way and decided to try this one too. I did two different types, the one in the video, also chocolate frosting and chunky peanut butter. So easy I made them while doing dishes. It's setting up now and I can't wait to try a few pieces for breakfast with my coffee.

    I made this fudge last night - it's delicious, and it was so easy to make. Thank you for this recipe. I did use the cupcake holders in a muffin pan as someone mentioned in the comments. I added cashew chips (because that's the nut that I had on hand), cocoa powder and almond extract (because I love the flavor). Really good fudge! And as someone mentioned below, it isn't too sweet. I have been looking for a recipe like this for a few years. Thanks again.
