Nick's enthusiasm when he says the titles of the movies, I find oddly satisfying and equally hilarious.
Me too!!!
Same!!
I live for it.😀
I need him to be the Oscars live announcer
I know right!! I randomly go back to the "The Invitation" horror review to hear him saying the "InvITAaaa-tIONnnnn" and giggle 🤭🤭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
PS: I call bullshit everyone knows best detective in the WORLD is "Sharp Eye Washington" from Uptown Saturday Night [a'la Richard Pryor doing the best & most ridiculous cameo EEEEEEVVVVVVER 😀🤣🤣🤣]
the chemistry between you both almost outshines your extensive movie knowledge. Love it! Also, how great is it when you say Ed Noorrrtawn.
I’m being triggered by “Noorertawn”
Okay Joseph's weird pronunciation of Edward Norton's last name keeps making me chuckle. 😆
Great review nonetheless.
LOL! Yeah Nor Ton
Adorable
Same. Hehe
Came to say something similar. I've never heard him called Ed NorTON . 😂
When Daniel Craig ate that hot sauce and said "Halle berry" that was funny to me
Oh I want to watch your review SO BADLY…but I’m going to see this in the theater. So I gotta wait. Your reviews are becoming Events I look forward to!
CONGRATS on 20,000 subs!!😁
Rewatch it. Everything is hidden and subtle. You see details put in plain sight. It was really set up well
I liked glass onion, but knives out is nearly a masterpiece. Enjoyed the review as always
it was the nene leakes wig for me. sorry jonnelle 🤣
Lol
I have literally never heard anyone pronounce Ed Norton that way
0:23 I absolutely love when Joseph says Edward NorTON. Joseph is so cute. 😊
He does have a TON of talent….
You two are the only people that can spoil a movie for me and I don’t mind it at all. Love you guys!
Just finished the movie. It had some good moments but the first one was so much better.
love the reviews guys. I just watched this movie with my 92 year old grandmother who *within 25 minutes* called out the biggest plot hole I've ever seen in a film. so Ed Norton... murdered someone... then saw either her resurrected body or twin sister arrive on his island... alongside the world's greatest detective who he didn't invite... and kept the whole weekend going?
So how long has your grandmother been the author of the Murder She Wrote Series!! Nana is Sharp!! Awesome 🎯 Love It!!
I think that was explained toward the end: Ed Norton's character is an idiot.
That's the biggest problem most people have with the movie. The second problem people have with the movie is that this plot hole is explained by Miles Bron being an idiot.
I love when Joseph drags the hair looks!! It’s such an important detail!! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
"Glass Onion" is a Beatles song. (And Ed Nawwwwton mentions "Blackbird" and "Paul McCartney" in the movie.) "Knives Out" is a Radiohead song. ... I wonder what Johnson's next mystery will be called. Gimme Shelter?
Watched this today, it was so good! Love Janelle Monae in it. The last thing I saw her in was homecoming.
Joseph is so adorable! The way he pronounced Ed Norton's name tickled me with laughter & made me think of various words that rhymed with "Norton" and formulated a story out of those words. However, that version of my comment got way too long, imo, so I opted to delete it. Anyways, it was merely a joke, to have some pleasure & fun!
You know I love a good story.
@@fishjellyfilmreviews I 2nd that!
It felt like a parody of "Ten Little Indians" aka "And then there were None" but I liked it
WOW I have been pronouncing Edward Norton's name wrong this whole time since 1996! LOL I guess people were just being polite this entire time! 😀
It's Nor-ten (with a soft T), not Nor-ton.
I really liked this movie. I enjoyed the long flashback. I just went with the plot and had a good time.
SPOILER ALERT: The only problem I had with this movie is the huge plot hole of Cody aka Bautista seeing the apparent suicide of Andi on his phone and not telling anyone besides Miles about it even though he believed she was with them on the island.
Joseph is here to help the plebs like me understand what the hell I’m watching 😂
Janelle Monae's face is so classic and beautiful.
Oh watching this later after I watch the movie on Saturday 👀
The way he says ‘Norton’ is delicious! 😊
Joseph's facial expression at 0:12 has me CACKLING 😭
congrats on 20k, guys. keep killing it! love ya both
Congrats you two on 20K!!! I’m a fairly new sub and I’ve been enjoying the content and laughs so far. 😉
Ed Nor-Ton 😂
I see y'all with that thumbnail
Happy Thanksgiving, Joseph, Nick!! Congrats on 20K! Much deserved! Hope you get double to triple that soon! 🎉🎉🎉
20,000 subscribers, Congrats...Fish Jelly🕯🕯
You guys have the realest reviews. Love watching them after I see a film
Happy Thanksgiving!!! Thank you for. All of the great content! ❤
Happy Thanksgiving, Nick and Joseph!
Happy Holidays Nick & Joseph!
Thank you!! I watched this today and having heard such good reviews, I was really disappointed. Your review is spot on. This film is overlong, and the exposition is like a 5 year old doing colour by numbers. 2 1/2 out of 5 is about right because there are some laughs, but for anyone who liked the whodunnit aspect of the film, do yourself a favour and watch David Suchet in Agatha Christie's Poirot. Vastly superior plots and exposition at a trimmed down 100 minutes or so.
Please never stop saying Ed NorTon
Great review as always 👏 Happy Thanksgiving 😊.
TWENTY K!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 So proud of your consistency and growth!!!
"Two steps away from somebody like Wendall Corey" Hilarious & Brilliant!🤣🤣😂😂🤣
An amazing on-point review. Love you both❤ You’re the best critics out there.
I love love love ur channel. U both are so cool, ur content is hilarious❤❤❤
Great video! 🌞
“I did, you saw it.” 😂😂😂😂
Ed Nortawn 😂😂😂 i love you guys
7/10 i was a bit disappointed. knives out is essentially a perfect movie for me. just thought this one was kinda lazy and the ending was really really rushed and thrown together. but its still entertaining with a good script so i mean...
I like the first one better but I still give this one a nine out of 10. I kinda like the characters in this one more then the characters in the first one, Can’t wait for you alls review
Good work boys. You've earned it. Ps finally getting a new phone soon so I'll be subscribing to the podcast. And buying a shirt haha
yaaaaasss - come thru with the throwbacks! Im off to watch 'Misery' rn. 🕵
just finished. OMG! I can't believe I used to watch that movie as a girl. It was darker than I recall. Still so good tho. RIP James Caan. And, Lauren Bacall - what a face. Thanks 'that's nick' 'and that joseph!
BTW I sometimes type these comments while I am still watching your videos LOL!
yes kate hudson was best part of the movie, which I was suprised by...I actually fast forwarded through some of the flashback parts after awhile and I thought the ending was really bad..movie was 3/10 IMO and 1st one I enjoyed and was like 6.5 or maybe 7/10 IMO...like your guys reviews...also 'gay homosexuals' in your guys description made me LOL...
Going to come back to this after I see the film but Happy Thanksgiving to you both 🦃❤️😊
I hope the both of you, have a wonderful Thanksgiving 🦃
This was the perfect t's-thanksgiving-weekend-let's-get-out-of-the-house-and-stop-bitching-at-eachother-for-a-few-hours movie
Hey Guys! First I want to say that I absolutely love your channel! I'm glad I found it here because you both give great insight on the many films you review. So anyway, I saw this film this pass weekend at an industry screening here in NYC. As many of these pre-release screenings go, afterwards there are post-show Q & A sessions with the filmmakers. In this case, Rian Johnson and Janelle Monáe were there (moderated by critic Perri Nemiroff). Honestly they really just discussed filming certain scenes, working with the ensemble of actors, etc. Nothing really earth-shattering. But I have to agree with you about the opening scenes before getting to Greece was really enjoyable to watch. I guess because the audience was mostly actors, writers, producers, etc. the audience reactions were kinda reserved but when the cameos popped up, everyone was excited (especially when Lansbury and Sondheim came on screen in the Zoom meeting with Leslie Odom Jr). I enjoyed it. But I do think when Janelle started destroying all those glass pieces, it seemed like it was way too long. All in all it was a fun film to sit back and watch with my box of popcorn. I will probably watch it again because there were moments I missed because I was laughing so much. Anyway guys. Keep up the great work! ✌🏾
Don't know how someone doesn't remember star wars! Lol! Not to my recollection. Love it.
I loved the movie… though I think I like the first movie a bit more with its twists… but then again I’m a sucker for murder mysteries and I want to watch more and more of them. I love that Benoit Blanc does not have a gag reflex (🍆?), who owned the dildo? (I need to watch that again), the cameos were so surprising, the name drops were hilarious! I enjoyed the movie heaps with the audience.
I wasn't going to see this movie but now I want to... I did not expect that LOL even with the spoilers!
Oh that right and then ending credits and John Lenon sings a beatles song that explains the whole thing. Luv you bthchs!
Just watched it on netflix. It was just okay. Lots of potential but the script needed another pass or two.
Not as good as the first one
Nah
Honesty appreciated
Saw this today!!
How the hell did I not thumbs up this weeks back...WTF CZcams!?!?!? Now I have to recheck my stuff Boos!!
Didn't love this ... IMO felt generic / Netflix-y
I thought it was silly and fun. Not as good as Knives Out. But I relished the catharsis at the end when Ed Norton was doomed and everyone turned on him and then he called everyone a shithead.
What about the massive Kanye painting 😂
Thank you for this review... Where you were not slobbering all over it like these other "midwits" on CZcams who think this movie was very clever, but was actually one of the most frustrating movies I have ever seen in my life... The amount of raw start power here was wasted in service of virtue signaling and ideology over what could have been a fantastic sequel...
Such a good time at the movies
Thank you for your review! I agree with everything. I don't understand all the A reviews! I had to watch Last of Sheila afterwards - a far superior murder mystery...
Parting Glances please…..and/or My Own Private Idaho ❤
LOL! Whenever Joseph says : *We need to talk about that* It 'means, I guess, is it good, bad, or worse, nonsensical. Both of you are going to go into that questionable' narrative. There's an element of suspense, that's going to go into the summary, that I look forward to! :)
I was so eager to see this movie but i got so disappointed with it. Such a high tech house and no surveillance cameras? Really? And such a convenient gunshot in the notebook. I think the movie was really lazy. I cannot excuse so many conveniences.
i cry so much watching this movie.
You cried watching THIS movie? It isn't even supposed to be sad... Or is that a joke on onions making you cry? 🤷♂️
That actually happened to me like a week ago at the grocery store 🙃
She just walks away girl bye
Twenty Thousand!!!!! Woot woot!!!!!!!
I didn’t care for either of the knives out movies but this one is definitely worse than the first. The beginning and the end are just giant exposition dumps with a long drawn out middle. And the final exposition dump is literally just reading off all the clues of who did what and why even though none it is really ever show to the audience to try and figure out. I believe a good movie should show not tell.
I can't believe people are saying that this lazy ass movie is good
I finally saw this. It’s okay, I would give it a 3.5 I enjoyed it
Interesting review, thank you! From it I can see that I won’t enjoy this film as much as the first one. The central reason is that the first movie had real heart in the friendship of the old mystery writer and his brilliant and caring nurse. As Benoit Blanc points out, she is a good person. All the members of the family except the patriarch and his ageless mother are unlikeable hypocrites and treat the nurse badly. These opposing character traits drive the plot and make the final resolution very satisfying.
In contrast, the new movie doesn’t seem to have a heart or any good people, and the ending does not sound satisfying at all. It’s more like another elaborate puzzle box, colorful and entertaining but ultimately empty.
I watched on Netflix, I wasn't impressed, I didn't care for the first one either.
I will leave before you get to the juicy
but why would he keep the real napkin that could ruin him? is there a reason given?
Cuz he was an idiot
Because he's dumb
He's too dumb to do anything remotely smart. He really thought he was soooooo important that nothing could touch him. Lol just my opinion. I think that is why I got so much satisfaction when the mona lisa was burning. Lol
So i was watching this movie for the sixth time, and i just realized this movie is all about icons. Burning down the idea of icon. Spoilers! Burning the mona lisa janelle monet burning the mona lisa. Cool. Monet is a famous painter. Mona lisa is a famous painting. Jannelle Monet is a pop icon. Like a glass onion. Yep i am brain washed.
PS: I call bullshit everyone knows best detective in the WORLD is "Sharp Eye Washington" from Uptown Saturday Night [a'la Richard Pryor doing the best & most ridiculous cameo EEEEEEVVVVVVER 😀🤣🤣🤣] I wanted more of Bautista's mom!! Ethan Hawke with the ponytail and "Quanon-VaccinationSecretSauceGun Cameo" hilarious 😆🤣😂
I’m glad I watched this review cause it doesn’t sound as good as the first especially the whole mystery part.
Thank you! The movie shows Miles clearly killing Andi...so who does he think that is that shows up on the island?? I agree with all you said. The overacting was so corny. The characters so shallow. I don't get the appeal of this movie!
I took it as he thought Andi was revived or something like that. Since it hadn't reached the media yet. I could buy that. He was beyond stupid.
I honestly thought the film was okay. Not as good as the first one, not bad just okay. I personally thought the film picked up at the half way mark. The acting was good from almost everyone, but I didn't like *ANY* of the characters, aside from Whiskey, Blanc, Helen the twin sister, Peg (the assistant to Kate Hudson's character) and Bautisa's character. I like that the film expanded on Blanc who is the best character in the film if you ask me. Ed Norton, great actor but dear lord I hated his character so much but thank fuck he gets his just desserts in the ending.
They use the stupid twin trope and the book stops a bullet cliche. Stupid movie
💙💙
Me and my partner loved the movie. First good film in a while he let his phone go
It's terrible
I hated this movie. It had bad overacting, the writing was bad, the ending ludicrous and cartooony. Also it was full of holes and silly contrivance.
Yes movie sucks
Nah
Janelle is boring
You're boring.
You're not boring.
Man you two are the toughest critics ever.. Have you ever given more than 3.5 stars for any movie? This movie was great. But yall nick pick the stupidest points... Just turn your brain off a bit and enjoy the movie.. Dang.
Oh forgot... Nick, as always, is adorable...can't decide if he's cuddly & sweet or a demonic incarnate! :)
This one (Glass Onion) wasn't great. Really liked the first film and Death on the Nile.
