-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 1992 British Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held on 12 July 1992 at Silverstone, Northamptonshire. It was the ninth round of the 1992 Formula One World Championship. The 59-lap race was won by Nigel Mansell for the Williams-Renault team, the Englishman also starting from pole position, leading every lap and setting the fastest lap of the race. Riccardo Patrese finished second in the other Williams car, with Martin Brundle third in a Benetton-Ford.
After Mansell won his home Grand Prix, the British spectators invaded the race track to congratulate their hero. Mansell's car was blocked by the crowd, preventing him from driving back to the pits. Eventually Mansell was returned to the pits by track marshals to attend the podium ceremony. The win was the 28th of Mansell's career, thus making him the most successful British Formula One driver of all time in terms of wins (surpassing Jackie Stewart's 27) until Lewis Hamilton won the 2014 Singapore Grand Prix.
Future World Champion Damon Hill made his first start, for the Brabham team. Two further future champions, Michael Schumacher and Mika Häkkinen, scored points. - Sport
People in 2023: Red Bull is so dominant
Mansell in 1992: You want to see some real domination?
Imagine being in P6 while 4.5 seconds behind P1🤯
Mansell and Williams were something else that year.
Mansell nearly put 2 seconds on Patrese. I remember this race as the pinnacle of Mansellmania. The crowd went bananas after the race.
If 107% rule had been in place and used without any exemptions allowed, there would have been 12 drivers starting the race.
4th position Michael- you're looking mighty fine there Sennnnnaaaa
3th position Ayrton- da fuq you looking at mate?
Engineer: Great job Michael! Only 0.300 seconds of Ayrton Senna!
Michael: Thank you guys, amazing to start on the front row tomorrow!
Engineer: Euhm, well actually....
Jeremy Clarkson stole Nigel Mansel's Wax Figure recently 😅
Thought it was Nigel Mansell himself. Definitely had his voice 😂
As someone who doesnt know much about F1, is that... the same Brundle guy who does the commentating for the races?
Yes he is
Yes, he drove in F1 between 1984 and 1996 with 158 grand prix starts and has 9 podiums. He drove for Tyrrell, Brabham, and McLaren (and a few more).
@dominik6439 wow, I figured he was someone entirely from outside F1 who was very good at what he did. That's all a bit impressive!
@@kl5_racing251also will add Martin Brundle is a Le Mans 24hr winner for Jaguar and drove the GT1 Toyota and Nissan in the 90s. And also the GTP Bentley Speed 8.
@tippersimracing6070 This guy's definitely a jack of all trades, but that's almost an insult, because he's more than a jack
The ultimate challenge for you: a video of every F1 driver who participated in at least 1 GP. That will be truly satisfying, though I know that it will be a nightmare to collect the photographs but still please do give it a try.
Yeah, that would be an absolute nightmare!
I made a video last week with all F1 drivers between 2010-2019 and am now working on a video of drivers between 2000-2009, so if I continue this, I will soon have a picture of every F1 driver in existence (and there are 774!!)
@@tommyracing2011 Yeah I saw that one. But I guess the only problem with these kind of videos is that one driver can appear in multiple videos, but then again it's a comprehensive breakdown of GPs participated by a single driver in each decade. It was nice to see Sir Lewis Hamilton at the top of the 2010-19 video in the same way Michael Schumacher headed the list of all Ferrari drivers.
@@thetruthshallprevailtoi I also liked seeing Michael at the top of the Ferrari list. Making a video with all F1 drivers was actually already one of my goals, but it is probably going to take some time (maybe even years) before I can finish something like that. It would be nice to see although the video is probably going to be an hour long😅😅
Also, drivers appearing in multiple videos is not something I can avoid. Schumacher will be in 1990-1999, 2000-2009, and 2010-2019 but I'm not complaining😉
@@tommyracing2011Can you do abu Dhabi 2021 with modern graphics 2022
@@annehenricot6863 Anger and pain, yet a much needed break from the 7 consecutive driver's titles preceding that season.
The Reason Why I Know And Remember This Race:
1) Nigel Mansell.
2) Williams FW14B.
3) Adrian Newey.
4) Paddy Lowe.
5) Powerful Renault Engine, And.....
6) Track Invasion For Nigel Mansell.

One of the most dominant driver + car duos in the history of F1
@@tommyracing2011 Yes. Fact.
WHAT AN AYARTON SENNA PHOTO
The second row is the first class!
