@@David_D.sennas consistency by finishing on the podium in nearly every race he finished is what gave him the title even while Williams were dominating the mid season and latter half of the season. But yes it’s essentially Williams reliability issues allowing Senna to win 4 in a row at the start which sealed the title pretty much. Senna still the best in qualifying that year though

This footage is Great!!! I loved this time in F 1 particularly, certainly the golden era for racing and F 1, cars screaming, sparking, sliding, vortices coming off the rear wing, the drivers having to take a hand off the wheel to shift, look ma one hand through the corners, and they did all this at scary speeds with no gizzmos keeping the car on the track, lower safety standards and downforce. James Hunt and Murray Walker commentating and Senna battling with the other greats of that era, Mansell, Prost, Piquet, Patrese among others. It was Great!!!

I'd highly recommend you go and try driving an actual F1 car yourself if you say it's that easy. Today's F1 cars still are massive weapons. But I'd say that if we'd have the modern style of tv footage covering cars from the 90s, I'd still fall asleep, because it looks clinical. I actually enjoy watching onboard footage from current F1 without the commentary, but it looks so perfect that it's unable to capture the speed of the cars. The onboardcams from the 90s give you a much better sense of speed and I think we should conduct a test to show my point.

Damn I miss this. Senna was so exciting. The raw onboard shots always fading for all cars on the same part of the lap. Drivers were more engaged on the side of the circuit or in the garages, now they just jump out of the car and disappear. Who knows who is the best these days, but there are no rivalries left. Senna Mansell, Senna Prost, Hill Schumacher, etc, etc. Even Hamilton and Massa in the modern era. Particular cars used to run away with the season but at least there were opportunities for team mates to push each other, or various retirements adding a bit of excitement, that doesn't happen anymore.
