Also since it's burning E-fuel it is more environmentally friendly than a F-E car since they are recharged with petrol generators.

Just remember that the fw14b did have quite a few electronic systems. Active suspension, traction control, sequential semi automatic transmission. This is why it was so dominant in 91 and 92

I was at many of these races back then and earplugs were a must back then - Spine tingling sound. Believe it or not Ferrari was even better again. Isn't Vettel such a great ambassador for the sport - Such a pleasant contrast from other clowns there
Im all for it. Vettel used to be the obnoxious dominant winner that was pretty easy to dislike if anything. But through the years Seb has become such a wholesome and amazing human being and I absolutely cant help but root for him!

Bring back V12s, and use bio fuel. Current V6 engines dont have the same impact.

@Hatrask But they didn't need to change a thing on the car to run it with that fuel... which is fucking impressive in itself if u ask me.
Also this fuel "only" costs ~6€/liter which sounds high but google how much actual F1 fuel costs.

Absolutely love the sound, wish they could bring back atleast v8 or v10s from 2026, but they should keep ers. Ers brings strategic use of battery backup.
I'd remove any electric stuff, bring back the six speed manual and remove any restrictions on engines and fuel flow. Id bring back refueling too.

What a beauty. It's sad that this sound has gone away, but innovation is much more important than some nostalgic memory. Both V10's and V6's sound beautiful.
the thing is, what you see here is innovation. The car is run with green fuel.
The ninetties brought us some of the most beautiful racing engine sounds imo. Mazda 787B, Sauber C11, Peugeot 905, Ferrari 333SP and McLaren F1 GTR(BMW V12) in sportscars; Ferrari F1 V12 powered cars since 1989 till 1995, Renault 3.5L V10 F1 engines from 1989 till 1994, Lamborghini F1 V12 (Specially the one Senna tested with McLaren at Estoril in 1993).
And that people is how F1 cars are supposed to sound, It would have been extra nice too see Michael Schumacher go around in that as well that would be one hell of a bonus.

I bowed out of F1 not long after this... If they still looked and sounded like this I'd still watch it. What's been produced in recent years just doesn't have any character for me.

The sound is so evocative yet, when several teams used what was RAF Abingdon for testing, when they could be heard on the other side of Abingdon and beyond, it was too much for the authorities.

I think people missed the point here, that car is running on sustainable fuels. I do not know if anyone realized but this is a big middle finger to the people who created the demand for efficient turbo hybrid bull crap. Its not the manufacturers fault. Its us the consumers who simply created that demand.
Breaking news: 2023 - Sebastian drives red 5 at all races AS THE SAFTEY CAR. This will also employ a team of older mechanics and visual sponsors foot 2/3 (running cost ONLY) of the bill Renault, Labatt, Cannon, Elf. Otherwise get a cheap mid packer with a snappy engine + 16,500 rpm and rebadge it every race. But if your going to say "sustainable fuels" have it run on non petroleum, non food based fuels that don't use farmland THEY SHOULD USE GARBAGE AS THEIR SOURCE, WHICH BRINGS IN PLASTICS and where back to petroleum. I'll shut up now.
I just feel sorry for this new generation who never got to experience F1 in its finest hour. The cars may be faster now but what is speed without sound? What is a hot woman without any brains? Boring.
For people saying V6 aren't loud, it is because of new mics used by F1 Media. If you have actually been to a race, you will know that these V6s are still loud.
I also prefer Honda (RBPT) downshifts crackles instead of those whinny scratchy v10 which I cant listen to more that 10 min.
Yes the new engines, they are loud, but having seen and heard both in real life, the new engines just aren't any where near the pitch of the old ones, v10 could just about get away without ear plugs, the v12's of the ferrari not a hope!

@@junedmomin2106 early 2000s. V10s screaming with air horns and flares being thrown. Going to a Monza weekend in 2004 was like you were en route to heaven. There will never be atmosphere like that anymore. People were passionate back then because besides on tv it was the only way they could see the cars. Now we have it all on the net, phones, computers that we are to lazy to come and experience the real thing. Besides people today are npcs and out of touch. They come to the races to film a story for IG instead of enjoying the moment. See Schumachers victory lap at the end of Monza 2001. He almost ran over people it was crazy.
Why is F1 not racing these engines instead of these muffled, complicated hybrids? Bring on the sound FIA!
