      Hey! You can enable name blinking to indicate which preset is currently active.

  • @TheDilligan
    @TheDilligan Před 10 měsíci

    So is there any way the HX stomp would actually share names with the MC6? Like so you can leave a name blank on the MC6 and when that switch is assigned to control the Red Squeeze, for instance, it would put that name on the morning star? Or the same with preset names?
    Or does that have to be done separately by connecting to a computer?

    Question. I'm super new to MIDI control. I've had a BigSky for four years, and I just ordered an HX Stomp and have full intention of using them together.
    So suppose I make different presets on the BigSky to correspond with presets I make on the Stomp. Would I be able to program the controller to "align" the presets of both the Stomp and BigSky together?

    • @MorningstarEngineering
      @MorningstarEngineering  Před 5 lety +3

      Hi Caleb! Yes, you will be able to do that easily. You can call up any preset from each of the pedals with a single MC6 switch press. You don't need to align your presets, which would be difficult and a pain. Cheers!

    Hi, I just bought the HX Stomp and I'm thinking of buying the MC6 to control it but I have a couple of questions:
    1. Can I have the pedal in Preset or Scroll Mode and change presets with the Stomp's switches while also having the MC6 control specific functions within the presets?
    Basicaly i want to switch presets on the line 6 stomp and with the MC6 being able to turn on/off any block or change parameters. Is this doable? I guess i would need to plug both MIDI IN/OUT to the MC6 so that the MC6 banks also scroll along with the presets right?
    2. Can I use the MC6 to control the Looper parameters like Reverse, Octave up, etc... without changing what the footswitches do on the Stomp itself?
    Thank you in advance!

      Line 6 hard coded snapshot recall to MIDI CC#69, value 0 = snapshot 1, val 1 = ss 2, val 2 = ss 3, val 8 = next ss, val 9 = prev ss.
      Set a switch to toggle on and send a message over MIDI CC#69 and then pick the values of which 2 of the 3 snapshots you wanna toggle between positions 1 and 2. You can also assign any range of parameters to any or every one of your effects to any MIDI CC# that Line 6 hasn't reserved to toggle between min and max values. MIDI CC programmability unlocks near unlimited potential of digital gear beyond preset navigation that lets you perform without having to dance on the level of Fred Astaire.

    I Love the mc6. One Question though:
    1. I switch on my Comp in Sound 1A on the Helix
    2. I change directly to Sound 1B on the Helix
    3. MC6 still shows CompON - but in Sound 1B Comp ist actually off
    4. I have to presse the Comp switch on the MC6 2 Times to switch in on again (because Toggle 2 sends Value 0).

    Hello! This is from Brazil. It clears up a question I have about Morningstar.
    I noticed that there is the MC6 with a light screen and others with a dark screen, is there any difference in model that can be distinguished by the screen?

    • @MorningstarEngineering
      @MorningstarEngineering  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Hi. From 2021, we moved to LCD screens with white backgrounds for the MC6 MKII. The Quality Control reject rate of the previous black ones was getting too high and we could not continue to use them. We changed all our product photos to reflect this change in color as well. Since then we've also had some customers ask how they can change their black screens to white (and vice versa). The white text on dark background was cool but the QC rejection rate was something we could no longer accept. This is not to be confused with the MC6 mk1, which also has a white on dark screen. Please email us if you need further clarification or confirmation.

      Hi Lee. The way snapshots work is they are activated for the current preset you are on. So you can recall whichever snapshot you want as long as you are at your desired preset. If you want to jump to a snapshot from one preset to another, you can send a PC message (to change presets) and then a CC message (to recall your desired snapshot), all with a single switch press. @MorningstarEngineering  Před 5 lety +1

      The HX Stomp can receive midi messages to trigger any midi function at any time. Each switch on the MC6 can also be programmed to trigger whichever function you want, even within the same MC6 bank. Cheers!

    1. Is cc16 a free cc in the U.S. Stomp?
    2. Is the midi channel for the HX stomp channel 1?
    3. Is the HX Stomp sending midi out to the MC6?

      @MorningstarEngineering  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi.
      1. Yes, CC #16 is free and unused on the Stomp
      2. It is set to channel 1 in this video. But it can be on any channel you want. Check out this video on MIDI basics: czcams.com/video/JIzCEYvwt1M/video.html
      3. In this video the Stomp is not sending any MIDI out to the MC6. If you'd like that to happen, watch this video we made explaining how to set up 2-way communication: czcams.com/video/7IF8gIMN4jA/video.html

      @TobyJBall Před 4 lety

      You might want to use external pedals with the stomp. To save blocks on my stomp, I use an external reverb and delay in the stomp's loop, which can both be MIDI controlled.

    • @luisaguilar4979
      @luisaguilar4979 Před 4 lety

      I believe it’s more of a preference thing. Some people (like myself) just prefer to use the HX stomp with a regular pedalboard. I mainly use my stomp for the Cab and amp sim as well as modulations and some extra stuff but I have my own delay, reverb, overdrives, etc. Because I just prefer it that way. If it’s easier for you to just get the helix then go for it! It’s all up to you my friend!
