Thanks for the kind words folks! Always a pleasure to be down Andertons world.
Always love your playing.
This looks like a great product as well...
Your playing, passion for the product (and patience!) is top tier, man.
This product isn't about its limitations, but is about how it hugely expands possibilities on a traditional pedalboard.
The channel misses you, no chance of you coming back? Pwease
Yamaha/Line6 is lucky to have you Paul! I’ve only had my HX Effects for a couple of months and it is truly brilliant. It’s a great time to be guitar player!
paulhindmarshmusic what IR do you have loaded for that Friedman patch? Sounds absolutely incredible
Paul should pop in more often. Even if it's not Line 6 related. He's good.
absolutely! Love for Paul and his playing!
What a player !!! The touch, note choices, he's got very unique thing going on!
I'm just now seeing this video though it's been out a while. I have to say that I really appreciated Lee asking the hard questions and talking about what it won't do as much as what it will. That's super helpful in making gear decisions. The Stomp sounds like a great option!
Paul killing it, as usual. Incredible, inventive playing.
Man, gotta love Paul's charisma and playing of course. Can't wait to get one!
Currently on the cusp of buying a Helix LT, so it fills my heart with joy that Line 6 are continuing to commit to the Helix family :)
Sir Paul Hindmarsh, I must say, every time I hear you playing, I'm blown away by your musicality. You're hands down the most talented guitar player seen here on this channel. Congratulation. I wish you the best.
Very kind thanks.
Hallelujah! PAUL!!!!!!!! Just made my day! What a brilliant guitar player. More please
This device is absolutely awesome. Paul is great player, so much feel snd expression !
Paul is best. Always good to hear him play
Man, I wish this was out sooner! I've recently-ish switched to a helix rack to replace my amp in a couple situations have been loving it. Honestly if you don't have an amp sim, get one of these for silent practice, adding layers to your recordings, and backing up your amp in case you pop a tube at a show. In fact I've even considered having an amp for me at gigs but a helix for the house.
Re-watching this and other HX- Stomp videos from a bit ago... and man, can Paul play and really as great job showing some unique features of my favorite pedal in my studio (is it even fair to call it a pedal?)... Awesome piece of "kit" as some of you across the pond have been known to say! Just dialed in an amazing "Wicked Game" ....uhmmm..."patch"? and it's.. as our good friend Dan from Down-Unda would say....EPIC! Unbelievable value and more things to do in there than I have time for (hence the up 'til 2am session in my studio room last night!)... thanks again Capt. Lee for all your cool videos! Keep on Rockin'... and Roxy gives it ...5 Tweets! 😎🤘🎸🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦
Great stuff. The thing that always put me off buying one of the bigger Helix units was the sheer amount of things that it was capable of (in terms of routing etc) and that realistically I’d only ever use half of it. Really tempted to give this a try.
Pauls playing is always a great moment
Thanks for getting straight to the switching issues. That's the factor which gives me pause, as well as that tiny screen.
I thought this was a very good review, Lee actually picked the guy to pieces about the functionality of the unit so that you knew exactly what you were going to get from it without actually trying to sell it. Maybe it’s a sale ploy? I don’t know, but it ultimately made me buy it from Anderson’s. Great review! I was going to buy the full version, but for my needs, this review told me all I needed to know. Thanks!
Nice litte thing!!! And Paul is the best when it comes to play while someone is playing with the effects on your helix!!! If I didn't have a regular helix, I would definitely buy this nice little unit!!! Good job on this one!!!
That Revstar though
Love that guitar!
A baby Helix that fits in my guitar case? Yes please. I don't need four parallel effects chains and a dozen footswitches, I just want a good amp model and a couple of good pedals. The lack of amp modelling on the HX FX was a real disappointment, but this looks ideal for my needs.
J Dietrich it is
My thoughts exactly!
If there was a light version of this one, I'd use it as an amp in my office. The amazing thing about this is that is has cab emulation and a headphone out.
Pauls a beast of a guitarist.
This looks like fun, but I think I still like the full size versions the best! 😎 Always fun to see new stuff from them and to hear Paul play!
The return of the POD - helix edition!
Equally shite just 2020 shite.
So many touring bands I know are making the switch..I love Line 6.
I LOVE that Lee points out the cons! It's the stuff you really don't think about until the pedal is right infront of you
That is some nice playing! Love the Yamaha Revstar
I bought a Sire S7 Larry Carlton from Andertons (thanks guys) and a Helix Stomp - running through my Orange Crush RT20 with a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 990 Edition 250 Ohm Open Back headphones for when the family are in bed.
Simply amazing setup.
Listening to Paul play that Friedman model blows my mind.
Sounded great! 🤘
This is going to be great for so many musicians
I've been looking for the perfect box to match up with my THR-100 HD... it's finally here!
Sweet playing, Paul. Need more Paul on these Anderson’s vids
Paul's playing is just joyful.
Hope Paul has some more vids lined up. Love his playing and he makes the Helix line sound great.
Paul Hindmarsh! This dude's playing is amazing!
Monster playing as always Paul 😎🤗
Thank you.
A pretty killer little package - sure its a bit more limited than full size helix, but I think this is actually the perfect model for my needs.
I already have some nice overdrive/fuzz pedals (which tbh I've always thought were the weakest - or at least most digital sounding parts of the Helix effects anyway) so best of both worlds if I used this to replace modulations, delays, reverb and amp/cab sims into a single unit.
Whoever is responsible for working out the limitations of the Helix line, is doing a really great job. The LT vs the Full helix is a good compromise. And the LT to this is great. Tiny foot print makes it compatible with any pedalboard. With midi switching you can do whatever you want.
It’s still too big, I’ll wait until they come out with the “HX pick”
....wouldnt that be lovely *sigh*
We just need to wait 2/3 years for that, really. This units are just gonna get smaller and more powerful with the years.
And it will just disappear like every other pick I've ever used
@@chrismartinez1370 wait a decade, and all that power will be crammed into something like an amplug with built-in wireless transmitter going directly to PA. and a wireless footswitch.
Or even a helix guitar
HindMONSTER! Amazing chops and tonal knowledge!
WOW I like this a lot. This alone in an effects loop? WOW
Wow. I'm really looking into this type of Helix. Sounds amazing. What Paul does with the sound is really good. Soo.. I guess it's also how you play it.
wow amazing playing!!
Always enjoy a demo with Paul
Stunning playing by Paul as always. Definitely one of the best players that Andertons has had on their channel, regardless of whether or not he's 'selling' a product. I'm always inspired by the guy's skill. The interface on the Helix range of products does seem to be some way ahead of rival products, even if others offer equally compelling sounds. I agree that Lee seems a bit negative in this vid. Not sure why.
Wow that's some really nice playing!. Helix sounds sweet. At the beginning lee is looking like.... Yep he can play!
I would love this in the HX FX form factor.
Great questions by the Captain.
Really nice piece of device. I was a bit sceptical about it at first but once hooked up my guitar and after playing with the simulations, cabs, modulations etc for a while I was stunned. This sounds beutiful both with the amp (Marshall DSL in my case; 4 cable method) and alone with just headphones plugged in (it is quite easy to get Mesa Rectifier sound which with some stereo reverb/delay sounds awesome). One needs to get used to the limited number of knobs and footswitches but still it is workable. The cons may be up to six blocks which may turn too few for some (especially when you include your preamp via 4 cable method or IR which also occupy the slots)
Looks like a fantastic little amp/ effects pedal.
Lee was so salty on this video; but Paul and Lee really showed this one off in the best way. I was starting to think I wanted to just get this one, but seeing the differences between it and Helix floor, I'll still be saving my money for the Helix. Thanks for the review guys!
Lovely to here someone playing something tasteful. It really helps rather than drop tuned metal riffing all the time.
I just saw the HX Stomp in person and I was shocked at how small it is.
Wow...this is actually pretty cool
This and the helix line in general just sound amazing. I love my Zoom G5N and its a better fit for my needs and skill level, but if I could justify it, I would buy this in a heartbeat.
Sounds really good
Talking about dynamics on modelling being better now, I recently got a Line 6 Pod HD 500x and was really impressed by the ac30 on it because I could set it to be at that perfect level that can be totally clean if I'm gentle and ACDC gain if I hit it hard. To be honest it sounded much more like my beloved Laney VC30 (that I sadly sold) than a Vox AC30. More of that upper mid scratch to it.
Omg I love that revstar guitar... it is outrageously beautiful
It really is a work of art.
Never seen one before, looks the dogs!
Then check out @reverendguitars. Even the name is similar.
@@farkaw I've never been a big fan of Reverend's. Unknown Hinson literally broke my heart when he switched from the SG to the Rev.
Which model is it?
Please do a Captain Meets video with Paul! Such a good player
Good ol' LINE 6! YEAH.
Finally the thing I've been waiting for
As the owner of some lovely valve amps and someone who's seen plenty of bands with real amps as well as these... The Helix plugged in through the PA/interface sounds as good as any valve amp mic'ed up.
Good enough to get rid of my analog pedals and go all in here?
Reviews like this made me buy one and I gotta say, after a week of trying it through headphones, effects returns, my interface, and monitors, I disagree entirely. It doesn't feel or sound real and it throws off my playing. I post clips asking for help improving the sound and people tell me it sounds fine. Guess I'm just picky.
@@malamute8257 cork sniffing tonesnobbing is a plague, say no to it. Your classic rock heroes couldn't care less.
@@valebliz for what it's worth, I just needed to find some IRs I like. I'm far from a tone snob. I've got guitars from just about every price range. If it's good, it's good.
@@malamute8257 i feel with good IRs the benefit of digital, at least for the hobbyst player, are immense. Of course if you are in the position to regularly play gigs and use a real amped cranked, good for you, but for everybody else digital is extremely convenient, dependable, occupy way less space, you can play it at any volume with pleasing results etc.
I'm a living room player, often playing through headphones, and digital gave me reason to keep playing.
I love this ...just what I need ...I love using real pedals just needed the amp options and was thinking the helix or fractal is just too much for just that this is just perfect plus the effects are a bonus :)
This would have been perfect for me. If I didn’t already have an LT. But I’d never give that up now!
oh hay Paul 🕺
The sales rep Vs retail manager dynamic was very apparent and enjoyable.
Woohoo Paul's back.
Something worth mentioning is that you can run the app on your phone via Bluetooth, so the thing even has a bloody Bluetooth in it. Beyond impressed. Used it in a couple of gigs straight into front of house and it just sounds amazing.
Stomp does not have Bluetooth and is only edited and the program is a windows app
Paul is so good!!!
amazing guitar work. geez paul is good!
Finally, a Helix "POD" sized product. Great move Line 6, was waiting for it for years. Really interesting but still quite expensive...
I must say, that Revstar sounded incredible 🙌
One thing that would help with moving up and down preset banks is to program the unit for either of these:
1) Give footswitches secondary functions if depressed for an extended period of at least one or two seconds. On preset mode, depressing any of the footswitches would change the mode to bank navigation and footswitch 1 and 2 will be for up and down while footswitch 3 takes it out of bank nav mode and back to preset selection on the selected bank.
2) Give the combination of simultaneous footswitch presses secondary functions. On preset mode, depressing footswitches 1 and 2 bank up and footswitches 2 and 3 bank down.
#2 would be faster.
Dat start was funkeh!!!!
Good players, good pedal. I felt it was a bit complex, but you’d probably get your head around it eventually. Neat.
What makes me happy about this is fact that we will get better tuner in next Helix update! :)
I'm still hoping for any tuner in native!
And It's now 8 blocks in 3.0.. There have some dsp limitation but I can use the Eq with extra block. That's great
Paul should make an album of his demo playing. Really beautiful playing!
I actually use my HX Stomp as a new POD Bean, I don’t use it as a floor unit. I originally started with the POD 2.0 and loved it (still own it).
this is just a must have.
That Revstar looks sooo good
The Captain as the Wah-Wah Wallah!!! Brilliant.
Interesting product.. I wish pressing down the two rightmost pedals would do bank up and the two leftmost would do bank down though. But nice work Line 6!
The Strat sounds great
The helix tested pretty decently against the axe fx and others for its price point. Now to have this being the size it is and the cost it is I personally think that this is a pretty cool unit and a damn good bang for the buck.
Paul Hindmarsh is the man. such a great guitarist!
make a kemper like that and I buy it in a heart beat
Love seeing a Revstar in a video. Best guitar ever
BROOO, that friedman sound was excellent! would you mind sharing the patch for the regular Helix Users? 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
All the Anderson’s Videos feat Paul are great. He’s such a classy player. Impeccable taste...Not wild about the pedal though.
I'm honestly surprised there's not a bigger buzz over those Yamaha Rev Star series guitars. They sound and play amazing, super clear and open pickups too. The YGD team hit it out of the ballpark.
They got me intrigued straight away, never heard or seen them before.
This looks great. They really need bluetooth and app support to make it awesome. Great demo as always.
Where do people see the Captain being critical? It's clear that he is more of an analogue guy, but this is a great conversation about this unit. Reasonable questions I would ask too.
Normally I am an analogue guy too, but this seems to be an unit that could replace my assortment of pedals and give me much needed space at home. And I can use my pedals too. This is great.
Wow, that DI sound was great. Maybe better than the amp sound.
PAUL IS BACK!
Sub-£500 with full FX processing / simulation power is *exactly* what I've been waiting for. Guess the credit card's going to be getting a wringing in the next few days. Arse.
Let's hold each other and weep, for I too will spend money I don't have. :( #gas
Olumiders Ekis The Boss GT-001 is $300 and does all of this and more. Not to mention it just sounds better!
I went from a valve amp with pedals to an ax8 and back to pedals because the ax8 was just too bulky and overkill for me. This thing is perfect for me! Already have one on order 👌
That Friedman patch! Whoa!
The DI sounds a lot like the amp. nice
If He and Honore .. made an album it would be something Special ...
Those Yami Revstars are so nice.
Great item
