I never cease to be amazed and amused by how Dylan Moran combines words and phrases into strings of wildly humorous musings.
I think he is in the tradition of Monty Python: a surreal view of life. What do you think?
Well I think he belongs to a weird and wonderful tradition which is surreal comedy and includes the Marx Brothers, Monty Python and everybody with half a brain who went to Cambridge and thought the footlights were a good idea so I have to apologize to a lot of people including Stephen Fry who actually participates in social networking against the advice of his friend Hugh Laurie. who ever is reading this you work it out, no-one reads what I write so who cares.

"fly diving and hole finding" lol
you sound poetic
"Blind fold yourself, walk around your flat and have a friend hit you with a stick!"--hilarious
I still go back an watch Black Books over and over because I love his stuff soo much.
Hoping one day they make another episode.
I loved "Black Books"! It was masterful! I go back and watch them routinely.
I have a copy of The Little Book of Calm proudly stood on my shelves. Love Black Books.
I thought I was weird for watching it so many times. Glad I'm not the only one.
Ooh what's your favourite episode? And why is it the house sitting episode?
Comedic genius. No other way of describing this man
I keep re-watching black books and love it every time. wish they would do a blue ray remastered thing although that's not really the point
You could describe him as several more things than comic genius.
Irish man.
Irish woman.
Irish child.
Man child.
Woman child.....
... Irishwomanchild?
Agreed
We lost Robin Williams and Billy Connelly, the latter still alive, still listen to Dylan Moran's podcasts. Sober and doesn't drink and still the smartest funniest person to draw breath and loves his wife.
@@evelynbaron2004 wait Dylan Moran has a podcast? No way! Do you know what it's called?
it started at cauliflower bar, continued to the ukulele patio, and finally at 'degree in marine accountancy' I finally couldn't hold drink in my mouth anymore! Dylan, you're a national treasure!
One nation doesn't get to keep him. The world is lucky to have him.
@@venkateshsah3935 A worldwide treasure, indeed!
Hopefully you are an Irish man Nick, otherwise hands offffff
IRISH🇮🇪 national treasure indeed
This degree in marine accountancy contains our whole world...
Love this guy. This is how I imagine the Ancient Greek philosophers lectured to their citizens going from town to town expounding on the absurdity of everyday life.
"Edwardian cricketer's beard". Good one. I usually refer to them as "Extras from the set of 'Gettysburg.'"
I refer to them as Ned Kelly.
He must have been referring to this picture. www.edwardianpromenade.com/fashion/the-clothes-the-man-cricket/
We joke about these types in New Zealand also.. the standard type has a beard (obviously) a native style arm tattoo plus various other tattoos and either works as a coffee barrister or boutique beer bar with some kind of web design or graphic design on the side. And they usually have a bulldog type dog or some kind of trendy cross breed. Basically a hipster NZ style. And they carry an apple MacBook around and sit in cafes drinking boutique coffee and beer. And sometimes some kind of tweed or tartan kilt for some reason.
They could remake that movie now and there wouldn't be a single false beard required. What has happened to the world?
@@emilyrobbins3238 Same. (we can't be the only people that googled it, surely?) Does it make Dylan more awesome that it exists, or is it fabulouser if he made it up. Not the first time he mixes up fable and reality, perhaps even his shtick, as I just realize that. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d5/W._G._Grace%2C_cricketer%2C_by_Herbert_Rose_Barraud.jpg
A digression on a diversion as an aside to a parenthetical footnote. Pure bloody genius this man.
May I offer my sincerest contafibularities aardvark
"Do you put two shots in the coffee here? He goes "YEAH", like I'd insulted generations of his family."
I laughed at this until I hurt.
👏👏
The contents, the delivery - absolutely brilliant! How come there is no Netflix special yet? What are they thinking? Dylan is beyond talented.
I love how you can tell Jimmy Car is there because that laugh is so distinctive
It’s not him. Only sounds ever so slightly like his inward laugh, but it’s not the same at all if you listen carefully.
Jimmy Car does not enter in this episode I love QI too but how did 156 idiots just cheered y up you idiot.
Fortunately as a Finn I get the nuaganoch of his humor
OMG I love you. Don't know if you watched the English version of Wallender which is probably misspelled and not Finnish but north of Canada where I was born ..... Kenneth Branagh total genius. Also Dylan Moran.
@@evelynbaron2004 I didn't even watch the Swedish version of Wallander. As for the rest... yeah you misspelled it and yeah not Finnish, no idea who this Ken is and I think Dylan is the comedian who's stand up act I commented under one night. But it's ok, I love you too, Evelyn.
@@AVJHalonen As an Australian, I appreciate that you are now a Finn whose comment on an Irishman's stand up comedy video I have responded to.
Hugs and Kisses
Sincerely.
@@DemstarAus My god! Can´t believe you are from Australia. I like pretzels.
I have no idea what you have, but it took away half the fun and half of my head altogether after reading this.
😶
"Edwardian Cricketers Beard"🤣😂
I choked on my coffee at, "psychotoccino." 🤣🤣🤣🤣
OMG I'm dyin here.
This bloke looks like he went he went to sleep in a bush after a heavy night of drinking and went straight from his shelter to the theatre to perform.
He's actually cleaned up lol you should have seen him before he was married
That's a pretty good summary of this guy I'd say
You need to watch Black Books!
he is describing every barista in my home town (Melbourne, Australia) 🧔🧔🧔
AND SYDNEY
oh god . flashbacks to living in Brunswick 😂
@@adrianapeace3601 😆😆
Your university must have department of marine accountancy then
Coffee barista?
It's the first time I'm seeing this material, he's absolutely my favourite ever, brilliant mind and amazing energy. Loved every bit of it!
He's absolutely one of the best to ever do it. 👍
Awesome
Watch black books
@@dejonger1963 I have, him and bill have a crazy energy together, and b. Bayley is also brilliant. But thank you all the same! 👍❤️
Ditto!
Dylan is the best thing you can have with coffee on a gloomy Saturday.
or wine
Or a big fat spliff after a long day
@@samwahab8976 I use a bowl myself, in fact I'm puffin on it now.
@@lonelyp1 enjoy this great combo 👌
In lockdown, awaiting the virus test 😏
Dylan is like an angry Pippin. Love it.
I had a very similar conversation with a barista in Sofia. I just wanted a coffee and was confronted with the same kind of super intelligent barista with a degree in marine biology. When did life get so complicated?
That is hilarious and entirely possible.
PS Sofia is as far as I know the capital of Bulgaria. My Dad is the smartest man ever to come out of the former Yugoslavia but ......
It's all fancy hipster cafés here now. There's even one where they make your coffee in a beaker-thingy. It's why I get coffee from the non-stops 😅
Actually love this man! So so hilariously funny, one of the best comedians around. Saw him 2 weeks ago and had one of the best nights out in a long while. He is just brilliant.
This man is the king of sarcasm and I love him dearly!
Dylan is hilarious I loved his character in Shaun of the Dead!
I cant watch Dylan's stand up without thinking of Bernard Black throughout. Especially if hes having a drink aswell
Great movie!!!!! His girlfriend was Dawn from The Office, Jasper Carot’s daughter! Such a funny couple😀
There is a word for this level of funny. Let me think... Oh: Perfect.
First seconds. 7am, midnight. I can't control myself laughing.
I love this guy! His growling and moaning and complaining about everything. He's inspiration for laughing. ;-) :-D
I laughed so hard I cried half way trough..
Can also confirm I nearly pissed myself at the end too....... Brilliant.
Dylan Moran is every woman's secret dream man.
Perfect man !!@???!
Love him in the little box on my phone where I can switch him off once I've had my bout with sane insanity....to rock my world out of complacency....
He's three and a half inches tall tho
Maybe women who secretly hate everybody.
I love his humor, he is so intelligent and witty; properly good comedian, would kill to have him as an uncle. But… when I have finished laughing and turn off the screen I realize that I have more disdain for the world (and hipster baristas) than before I started. That’s not something great to live with all the time.
It’s ok to enjoy intelligent cutting sarcasm but somewhere you’d need a break to actually love life enough to not drink yourself to death.
Here’s to Dylan 🍸and to the women who secretly desire him. ;) all those killer ladies who can’t get enough of his banter.
@@burtan2000 guessing you care cause no one else who prizes intelligence would care about height.
Ain’t it the truth.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. No other words for this genius.
I am obsessed with this man's comedy honesty the absurbity of uncertainty and mortal coil is why I love it. A class act.
You are brilliant, Dylan Moran. Laughed so hard. 'Proper dog!' HAHAHHAHAHAHAH... I AGREE!
It would be interesting to hear a 2021 update of this show. You have to watch the whole show. He's brilliant.
That is cool but your guitar is white
@@somegirl558 It certainly is. It's the only one, though.
The Bob Dylan of comedy
God, that is... classic Hugo and Miles
Umaminess! ❤️😹
He is really funny. Dara O'Brian is another irishman who makes me laugh but Dylan always seems slightly drunk. I wonder if he is? And oh my God I love his messy hair..it suits him so well. He actually reminds me of my uncle Michael. He looks like him and sounds similar too plus my uncle was always telling jokes. He would start every conversation with 'Did ya hear the one about the englishman, the irishman, and the scotsman...' and every time he told a joke with that beginning it was a new joke! I don't know how he knew so many!
Its actually been sober for like 2 or 3 years
Acting drunk is part of his act. It's his stage personae.
He doesn't smoke anymore either. It wasn't so much that he wanted to quit, he said it was basically a choice between smoking or breathing.
I'm pretty sure the apparent drunkenness is part of the act. We saw him years ago and he did the thing of getting louder and angrier and slurier, but he was actually sipping from the same glass of red wine the entire show. Unless he knocked back a lot at the interval, he was as sober at the end as he was at the start.
Blindfold ye, walk around yer flat, and have a friend hit you with a stick!! I'm still laughing! Thank you!
This man is the absolute nr 1 Comedian in the world. Netflix go for it ❤🎉
I saw Dylan the year he won the Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Fringe. I knew then he was pretty special. Funniest man alive.
man, still got it. he's a poet this guy
Off to rewatch Blacks Books, yet again!😁👍👍👍👍
Edwardian cricketer’s beard😂
Ach, Dylan, now that you've finally reached a proper age, yer better than ever. Bring on the snark, lad. I'm loving it.
Ukulele patio. Wonderful
Dylan just keeps getting better and better...
37 Marine Accountants disliked the video
And he says he doesn't drink any more... hahah, he's brilliant.

Dylan is so funny. ❤ Love the accent! Sharing from 2:51 onwards to those on my barista course today.
The comedy Black books is the best! Dylan on turbo.
Yay new Dylan material! 😊 Haven't seen this yet! I'm so pleased. 🙃😁💟
Have you seen my glasses? 😂
So true. We are not people, fathers. I settled for being a hybrid avalanche / volcano construct, who eats chocolate. And drinks beer.
Dylan Moran may just be the funniest man on the planet.
I'd give that spot to Eddie Izzard. Dylan can have the next.
Easily
what about danny bhoy
@@Dethian666 He's in the conversation too, for sure.
Add Billy Connolly Robin Williams and the Monty Python gang plus my dog and that's how I get through life great comment.
Was anyone else a little disappointed that he never called the barista Mr Beans?
Massively so.
definitely. anyone who attempts to intellectualize or make an art form out of pouring hot water and milk into a cup definitely needs to be brought down a peg or two
Irish accent, so beautiful...🥰
My favorite comedian ever
Hilarious! I so relate to trying to order coffee and almost giving up because there were soooo many options. :)
There are too many funny sentences crammed into this, i nearly died
I just came in from walking my dog where I overheard a Hipster on the telephone, going: "That could work, if it would work, but it win't work, and now I have to tell him that…"
Labradors being human being in dog-form seems kinda appropriate.
Marine accountancy 🤣
god how i missed Dylan. haven't laughed like this since Monster
Haven't winced like this since the doddery neighbour cut the communal hedge.
is jimmy car in the audience it sounds like his odd laugh in the beginning.
As someone who loves to climb mountains in january, I very much enjoyed this.
You are a force of nature - too funny.
well that monolog just saved me from suicide !!!
Best impersonation of a Labrador ever
Degree in marine accountancy or whatever it is 😂🙌🏻💯
Brilliant!
Just brilliant!
I needed cheering up and you did it!
It was the coffee sketch!
"nobody knows this guy" 😂
Dylan is my Spirit Animal. Lol
He seems to be getting more and more furious with life as he ages. In about 15 years he'll be where I was at when I was 9.
😂😂😂😂
Actually he quit drinking and smoking and nothing has changed except fortunately for all of us he will live longer. Podcast Sirius XM.
He no longer drinks or smokes and still madly loves his wife according to him podcasts and post Covid another tour. I will be there to applaud.
Love Dylan Moran! Brilliant!
Jimmy Carr is sitting in the back row but you can still hear his laugh.
Dylan Moran is my spirit animal
One of the best, his work is sublime
Somebody in the front row sure has a unique laugh and seems to be tickled.
Looks like a car wash with teeth... 🤣
Sunday morning 7am midnight, right? lol
Love the 20 somethings who call me Boss or Chief.
One of Irelands best comedians. 🇮🇪
Yay. New content. Love this guy's humor
Definitely one of the funniest comedians.
love this!!! thank you!!!!
Gold. Love this.
ps Billy Connelly Robin Williams Dylan Moran and Stephen Fry for that brilliant intellect .... anyone who says no is a lunatic.
so Moran literally lives as Bernard Black trying to make sense of the modern world. XD
pure.. comedy.. genius
The weird and wonder full imagination of dylan moran
Fly diving and hole finding. Hah!
Absolute feckin genius....
Hes my most favorite human being on the earth at this moment go Bernard
Ooooh... a headwess wabbit...? It wasn't me - it's DUCK season!
(If you ever need brain surgery, sounds like Starbucks is the place to go.)
Oh, how I adore this man.
Love him. 😂
I've known rocket scientists less arrogant about their craft than baristas. Funny, that.
I'd appreciate the penguin.
Ooohhhhh !
I expected the barista had dubbed Dylan
"Mr. Bean"(s) on Dylan's coffee cup order
...I'd love a woolly penguin that swears in dutch.
