  • My Eye Lift Plastic Surgery - Before & after blepharoplasty
    I had cosmetic surgery to reduce the appearance of my heavily hooded upper eyelids and decided to share my experience. In technical terms I had an upper eye lift otherwise known as a blepharoplasty in Auckland, New Zealand.
    This video was shot eight weeks after my eye lift surgery. I am now over 50 and still love the results of my surgery.
    Thanks for watching.

    I'm 22 and my eyelids are already hanging lower than yours ever were, my brows are also lower. I can't wait until I can afford surgery.

    I noticed some changes right away when I turned 32. I wasn't freaking out. I was just hurt and felt broken by the change. I actually cried for a while. I tried everything. I changed my diet. I only drink water. I don't drink smoke or do drugs. I work out. I sleep 6 to 8 hours a day. I take my vitamins. I tried everything but nothing seems to work. I have no one to talk to about this. I keep it hidden away from the world. If I tell my friends about this they will think it's silly and probably laugh. I feel like surgery is the only option, but I can't afford it. I really hate looking at the mirror now cause whenever I smile I see it... I see it always.

    Thank you so much for this video! I am saving up courage for this procedure. I'm only 30 years old but I am genetically predisposed for this "condition". My eyes were so pretty up until about three years ago when the make up started to disappear and I always look tired in photos. I so miss my big eyes! Just so scared to look startled and not being able to close my eyes or havin my eyebrows being dragged down. Your results are beautiful! Don't wanna get botched....

      Hi Mia - I was exactly like you - I was super scared of looking strange and looking like I'd obviously had plastic surgery. I really think the key is finding a very good, well respected surgeon. Good luck :)

      +The Style Insider I have the exact same problem. I had gorgeous big eyes now I have droopy lids which conceal my eye shadow. My biggest problem is one droop is uneven from the other. I'm also 30 :(

    It looks very natural. However, I would be also worried about not being able to close my eyes completely while sleeping, and dryness in my eyes. I am aware this happens after surgery, but resolve, although, sometimes it doesn't. Did you experience this, and how long did it take to resolve?

    • @Thestyleinsider.
      @Thestyleinsider.  Před 7 lety

      No I didn't experience this at all and I'd imagine you'd only really get this if too much skin was removed and the whole thing was overdone. I think the really important thing is going to someone who has a great reputation and very experienced in this kind of surgery. Good luck!

      @Thestyleinsider.  Před 10 lety +1

      Hi Debbie sorry to hear that but it's still very early days for your surgery so I'm sure they will continue to get better. My surgeon said the healing process can take up to two years so try not to worry too much and give you body time to heal. x

    "He talked me through the procedure, how long it involved, how long it would take, how much down time..." Any chance of explaining this in full? My girlfriend is thinking about having this operation and wants to know the details, if possible, like how long the stitches are in and who takes them out, etc. Thanks.

    Hi Leonie,
    Could you please tell me how's your scar now? I got eyelid surgery nearly 2 months ago and now one of my eyelid got scar got worse, it's not even, not smooth. I think I can call it "keloid". The other eyelid is good and smooth. I'm really worried. Any way can I contact you?

    • @Thestyleinsider.
      @Thestyleinsider.  Před 10 lety

      Hi Linh
      One of my scars is actually a little worse than the other but it's still not very noticeable at all. I'm sure this is just down to how each person actually heals. There are laser treatments you can have to reduce the raised appearance of the scarring which may be worth looking into. Have you talked with your surgeon about your scars? I'd definitely have a discussion with my surgeon first and foremost. Good luck. Leonie

      Thank you and it may be worth checking with your doctor because this op can be covered if your hooded eyelids are affecting your vision. Might be worth exploring that avenue?
