You don't need cardio to lose weight. Calories in vs calories out is the key. Cut your carb intake down tremendously & reduce sugar until it's almost obsolete from your diet & you'll see that you can lose weight without even trying to.
Paul Thomas they’re just pointing out basic scientific facts, no need to get worked up. Diet objectively has a bigger impact on your weight than exercise does.

I’m saying that it’s dumb to say it’s fatphobic that fat people are more likely to die because by that same logic it’s skinnyphobic that skinny people are more likely to die as well (someone like Eugenia Cooney would not fare well- even worse than a fat person).
We are litterally all getting together and social distancing to protect the vulnerable like her. We are greatly inconveniencing ourselves to protect her. Think about that. This woman is aweful. Just to add a dose of reality for you. A disability rights organization has filed a suit in Alabama for exactly the reason that this woman states in her Instagram post. The state has care rationing plans which clearly outline that if a person has an intellectual disability (including a high-functioning person with downs syndrome) or age-related disability (e.g. dementia), they would be "poor candidates" for ventilators. Similar guidelines exist in 25 states across the US. Both Washington and New York were considering blanket measures to allow doctors to make decisions about who they would/would not attempt to save when overwhelmed. It is not, therefore, unreasonable to believe that this could include morbidly obese people. I'm not fat, but I do work in the field of public health and health disparities. There are thousands of very real, documented cases of health care professionals having negative views of fat people that in turn, has an impact on how they treat those people. The same is true with people of lower incomes, people of color, people who don't have English as a first language, etc.
Also, you may not be fat or disabled, but that in no way means that you are not susceptible to severe complications from this virus. If you are in perfect shape, but have asthma that is under control (many people of all ages fall into this category) you are at greater risk. If you have a long history of corticosteroid use (for severe allergies, arthritis) one of the side effects is weakened immune system, which is the underlying risk factor for all pre-existing conditions. You're not staying at home only to protect fat/disabled/elderly, you're staying home to ensure that hospitals are not completely overrun with cases that they can't handle. You're also staying at home so that if you, say, got in to a car accident right now, you wouldn't need to be in a clinical setting where your risk of catching Covid would increase.
And because in these conversations, having a nuanced opinion is considered being a fat apologist, let me be clear: I don't think that a person of 300lbs is healthy. They may not have debilitating health issues at the moment, but that will not last. I don't believe in coddling people and playing to their emotions because something is difficult. However, I also believe that there is real negative feeling against fat people that is expressed in ways that can be harmful. I have helped to develop training sessions for medical professionals on how to have effective conversations with people that need to lose weight because it's just as bad to belittle someone as to ignore their real health issues because you don't know how to talk about them.

Me being a 22 year old, healthy fitness trainer being wrecked by covid, i can only imagine what it does to people that are not trained dont eat healthy and already have not much room to breath because all of the fat around their organs. Stay safe people covid 19 is no joke.
I was one of those people.. i wasn't fat or overweight but i really liked to eat fastfood, didn't workout, sometimes booze and went to sleep late for years bcs of gaming all night.

When I was crazy fat I was sick a lot. Because my eating habits were crap. You don’t become morbidly obese eating fresh veggies and lean protein. For me it was lots of pizza, fries and chips. After developing a good relationship with food I lost 110 pounds and rarely have been sick. Does it mean I won’t get sick? Nope. But I am giving my body the tools to naturally fight shit off. This woman is unhinged. Stay healthy and safe out there.
Does no one remember polio? They shut my entire state down in the early 50s to stop Polio - and some people who caught it and lived have lung damage to this day. It ended up being something you *needed* to get vaccinated for and people feared and avoided. But how fast we forget. People have it too damn easy nowadays.
And that's the whole problem.. where Im from many people are like "why should I stay inside, they dont have the right to tell me what I can and cannot do".. so many people dont realise we have it so easy and they have food/ water/home/internet etc so they get bored I guess? We created so many stupid, ignorant people.. it just sickens me to see we follow the rules and they think those dont apply to them.. I truely hope karma is real...

At the end of of the day in most places it’s a strong recommendation but is not actually enforced. So the whole “I can do what I want”attitude is pointless

I'm 23 and am currently recovering from having it. Out of work (mental health worker) for a week already and my doctor wants me to stay home from work for 2 more weeks. Anyone can catch it. It sucks. Stay home and protect yourself, those you care about, and the vulnerable. I am grateful to have been in good health when I caught it. It hits hard. Do what you can for yourself and work towards strengthening yourself and optimizing your health.
There's people in Italy and even where I live in Spain that refused respirators and special care in order to give it to a younger person. Many times I've seen this shown on TV and the people that are hospitalised many times are obese. People of old age sacrificed saying they've lived long enough so doctors take care of the young and obese. Guess what they say: please save this person so they can pass this virus and get healthy to live a long life. In times like these we don't need to be bullshitting around, this is serious people.
Edit: the chosen for death thing reminds me of this one dude that said on national TV that the virus was programmed by China to attack Europe and the US... Yeah that happened and not as a joke it was said very seriously and sadly many people believe what this man says everyday.

@Al Connolly the sad thing is that sometimes when don't know what's happening in our own country. Our government lied to us in Spain and now they expect people to praise them for their actions. It's very sad not being able to trust the news, but we all know those news are all manipulated. The president is answering the questions people ask that are convenient for him. We only see the truth with our own eyes, we can't trust any media in any country. I hope out of this situation we learn to seek for the truth of what's actually happening instead of just listening to the lies we are told most of the time

The old, the sick, the fat and disabled are getting sick because there bodies are not in top health. Weakened by age, and other medical factors. Illnesses are not prejudice. Be safe everyone, practice social distancing and stay healthy and strong the best you can. We will get through this. Flatten the curve.
uh, the anti-aging industry mainly just cater to people's shallow need to look young, and frequently at health's cost. Not much about making you really healthy, just "healthy" looking.

I heard on tiktok of a content creator who died of covid 19, I checked her page, and she was huge. Past morbidly obese. It also looked like she had pcos. But that just hit home for me so hard, and it's scary. And a diabetic locally died a few weeks ago too, she appeared a healthy weight, but the diabetes was definitely a factor.

I am mordbidly obese. I'm done with excuses. I am living in reality now. It's so refreshing. I'm taking one day at a time. Each day, I'm putting thought and time into what I eat and what my kids eat. I'm eating vegetables and fruits more now than I have in years. I'm eating grass-fed beef and steak. I'm being patient with myself, because it took me YEARS to get this way, and it's going to take a long time climbing out of this hole. This is my gift to myself. I want to feel better, period!!!

I may be older( turning 60 this year), but I am strong with a good immune system thank you very much. I am so thankful that I can workout and move everyday. I am so thankful for being able to enjoy quality food. I am thankful for continuing to learn and better myself. Thank you sir for doing so much good in this world.

Wanted to leave a comment: Thanks for the video and the entertaining advice! I've been here in China since the outbreak started, quarantined all through February and am working online. Nothing has been more helpful than all of the advice and challenged for fitness, health and cooking and it's been helping me and a lot of others in our community to take mindful control of our health.

Well in my country fast food restaurants will be closed until further notice from tonight. We are going to have to cook by force...healthier physically... in theory.
Yesterday I saw a video of a woman who is morbidly obese having a full meltdown in KFC because her chicken was too small. It hurt to watch especially since I am still in the obese category and fighting the urge to binge crap (which is easier now that there is less access to crap). It was like getting a dose of cold water thrown on you.
Still going to stay keto (still debating between strict keto and carb cycling) and walking/jogging (in yard) to improve health. Hopefully I reach out of the obese category at the end of April. And I hope that this virus is under control soon

Like everyone we think that Nations should try to unify during this situation and help each other but they are doing the opposite actually . In France we were supposed to get mask from China but the US government were willing to pay 3 times more to get those mask so now in France we are missing so much mask for nurses and doctors. Just to say that if our governments have egoistic behaviors ( Even though I can understand that they think about american life first) I think people should support each other to end this health crisis.
