    so many decades ago lol, 27 turn with 34 degree brush timing makes a Hornet pretty insane. racing back when it had to be 27 turn with 20 degrees at the brushes, it also had to have bushings not bearings. Hornet entry level stock class racing on a deep groomed soft dirt short course was always the most fun because they're a bit squirrely.

    When I put the 21T in my Hopper, I ran it on the street using the same rear tyres as you did and I couldn't get it to full speed, it was wheel spinning at 3/4 throttle and I didn't feel in control of it. I didn't use the wd-40 trick though 👍🏼
    I love the look of those rear tyres but yeah, disappointing off road. Great video 👊🏼

    • @ShenRC
      @ShenRC  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi you need to get a radiolink radio with the gyro receiver it makes the old cars so much better to drive it holds it in a straight line it's 100 times better. the WD40 does help though. if you search my channel for radiolink I did a test with the gyro in my sand scorcher showing it running with it turned off then on and the results are amazing,,,so good I got the receivers with gyros in my hornet and grasshopper now also. Thanks for watching.

      @@ShenRC I actually recently got a gyro for my Flysky and my son's Dumbo RC. Just got them in the DT-02'S currently but great idea to have one in the Hopper. • @ShenRC
      @ShenRC  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Man, I broke it in dry at 2V actually but three is ok also... under water method works great but you have to keep checking your brushes because they can wear down real fast under water you can't run them long like a dry motor break in. Thanks

      @ShenRC  Před 3 lety +2

      @@NCMOUNTAINSbackyardRC Hi I don't think no motors are pree broken in but they do come with rounded brushes on some that couture the come better but you always need to run a brushed motor at low voltage first for a while to properly seat the brushes to the come before using the motor making a load on it...if you don't do this the motor wont run as good or last as long because the brushes when not mated to the come good if not broken in will make arks and foul the com and cause it to get damaged and worn pre mature.

    How have you kept the battery slip In place, did you put a long screw in and dremmel a space for the clip?

    • @ShenRC
      @ShenRC  Před 8 měsíci

      Are you speaking about the battery tray on the bottom of the car? I drilled a small hole in the tab on it and one directly above it in the chassis when it was on the chassis and I used piano wire made a small loop in one side pushed it through the battery holder tab and made the loop in the wire just big enough so it cant pull through the tab. then put it through the hole in the chassis marked how height I needed it to make another loop in the end that you can then slip the body clip through to hold the battery tray on the car. Hope you can understand this. Thanks

    Don't forget Stewart Mac got twice that speed. In a hornet. Spike tires would have probably been better for the snow. I consider those tires a rally tire they're decent for off-road and they're good for on-road.

    • @ShenRC
      @ShenRC  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes I am not into super speed why I took the WLtoys 17T out of this buggy and put a new 21T in... these buggies are not good and are just about on the edge with standard tamiya silver can motor for the best balance and control of these hopper type buggies anything faster just disrupts it and makes them real bad to drive. Thanks for watching.

    • @JimBoBJames-no5db
      @JimBoBJames-no5db Před 7 měsíci

      Stew Mac. I've seen his video and I'm dubious for a few reasons. Firstly he has his speed metre obscured with a cable tie. And it's damn impossible to see the display on his speed metre. Secondly the Hornet handles terribly at much lower speeds , so how did he get such a high speed and not crash during filming. Thirdly the car stew Mac was driving was never in view on film. All we could see as viewers was when stew Mac claims he reaches these speeds. But again it's downright impossible to see his speed metre. Steve here at Shen RC is absolutely trusted and a sincere genuine guy. Steve at Shen RC actually shoes us the speed metre and isn't making ridiculous claims like Stewart Mac. And I'm from Australia. I'm Australian so it's not me being unpatriotic to a fellow Aussie. We just can't see what speed Stewart Mac really achieved. I love your work Steve at Shen RC 👍👌💪

      This motors fast I am using the gyro because without it it would really be hard to keep going straight. I have that GT tuned in my super hot shot I don't like it bad problems I had with it arcing up the com burning it up I had to take it apart and clean it and let it slow break in on like 1.5V for a hour to get it working again... to much $ and it's no better than a $13.99 motor.
