also another possibility if you jump the pins and the fans work, and relays seem to be good, it could also be the coolant temp sensor thats making the fans not kick on at all

Wouldn't the fan still turn on when you turn on the ac? Even if the coolant temp sensor isn't working?

Great video. Loved the fact that you moved slowly and deliberately. So many people make these videos, and they talk too fast and move too fast and jerk the camera around. Please make more of these types of videos. You have the knack for it.

Your instructions are very easy to understand! I'm having problems with my Tahoe 2010, sometimes the temp will spike up 2-3 lines while cruising or during traffic stops, then back to normal temp after 10 mins. Flushed the cooling system, bought a new radiator, thermostat and expansion tank, $200 later temp still spikes up. I noticed that during temp spike (overheating) episode, my passenger fan is still off and will intermittently turn on and off. Need to check my fan and relays. Thank's a lot for your video!

Very helpful. I have a 2015 tahoe ltz that is having an issue where the fans are running wide open. I replaced the engine coolant temp sensor like everyone recommends but it is still doing it. I've had the engine cooling fan relay go out on a jeep before and assumed that this was originally what was wrong but I couldn't find the engine fan relays. They're not labeled by GM in the book or on the lid. Also appreciated your recommendations for trouble shooting the relays.

I noticed my fans not coming on, unless the air conditioner is on. It’s over 100° out. The truck is not overheating. However, after driving and allowing the vehicle to sit and idle The fans still do not ever come on unless the Air conditioner is turned on. I’m wondering if it’s possibly the relays or the thermostatic switch?

need some help! My cooling fan was only working when my AC was on. It wouldn’t turn on at all if it was off. Today the truck started to overheat a little. Pulled over and noticed the fans weren’t working at all. Got home turned it off and turned it back on and the fans started working again but only with the AC on. I live in Kansas today it’s 35 degrees. Could the weather have impacted this? I’m thinking of just replacing the relays to see if that changes anything before I spend $500 on a new fan assembly.
