I was having overheating issues on mine and I went ahead and replaced the water pump,thermostat ,radiator hoses and temp sensor and the fans weren’t working. I found out thanks to this video and my mechanic that those specific trucks kick the fans on at 225. Rather high but I’m expecting to take the truck to get it tuned.

Solved my 03 Impala would never kick in the fans at operating temp at 195*. I now know with your help most GM will kick in at at least 225*. All relays are good, fans works great when ac is on.

My stepson has a 2005 Silverado 1500 He told me his truck started overheating the other night. Today I told him that he should start with replacing the new Auto Zone Thermostat he bought the other day. Now he has circulation in the cooling system, but the fans are not turning on. According to the gauge the engine is at 210, so it's still below normal but he told me a half hour ago that it went up to 240 and still no fan operation...
Thanks for the video. I told him that as long as the 3-relays are good, it would either be the fan, or the sensor...

The factory settings are too high! I had mine hp tuned to kick in at 205 and 210 for my H2. F that at 225 factory settings

Im having the same issue on 2008 Escalade. It has a new waterpump so im gonna swap the old thermostat back

How did you test the relays to make sure they were good? I'm having a problem where my fan is not kicking on when I turn the AC on.

Switch it with the other relays
They are the same

2005 chevy 1500 5.3L it has electric motors for cooling fans but doesn’t have relay for the fans nothing shows up except ac relay they don’t kick in . What can I do if I don’t have fan relay

The relay box to the fans are towards the firewall
You need to remove plastics to be able to see it
