My wife and I decided to get a minivan a few years ago. We considered 3 of the 4 here. The Chrysler was out due to poor reliability and poor transmission problems. We test drove the rest. I love the Honda's ride best. It was comfortable over bumps. It had adequate power. It was roomy. But I ruled it out because it was severely dated. Dated looks, like the designer didn't even try. Dated infotainment center. It looked like it was designed in 2016. The backup camera was horrible. My 2014 Pathfinder had a better backup camera. The Sienna, which was my favorite before the test drive, simply because my mother in law had a 2005. It was very reliable and we were very comfortable on long trips with it. However, this one was passed over because of the lethargic engine. OK..you get 34-36MPGs. That's great. But at what costs? Everything comes with a cost. You pay for it with power. The 4 cylinder engine is not enough for a van this big. Sure you have a battery powering the wheels. But it's not powerful enough. Sure, some mommas driving their kids to soccer practice will say, "I have no problem". Well I did. Acceleration was LOUD. I mean very loud because of the CVT. You go off an exit ramp and you have to literally have to floor it. And between 60-70, it takes too long to bring it into another gear. I couldn't handle the lack of power. Unacceptable for a vehicle this size. Sorry...I will pay for the gas. I'm paying nearly $50K for a minivan. I can afford the gas. What I can't afford is the lack of power when I need it. The engine is just not acceptable for me and I'm not a fast driver. But I need the car to stay with traffic if everyone's moving quick. The infotainment is also dated like the Honda. The touchscreen was sluggish to respond. The screen wasn't that big. And the backup camera seems like it's 10 years old. That leaves the Carnival. We weren't sure about buying a Kia. But they did well with the Stinger. They did great with the Telluride. Let's give the Carnival a try. The looks are great. Everyone can agree this is the best looking of the bunch. The interior was great. You just get a ton of stuff for the money. Heated and cooling seats in the back? Do the others have that? No. Reclining seats in the back for those long road trips. Wow. You don't anything like that unless you're in a Maybach. The ride was decent, probably a little behind the Odyssey. But the ride was predictable over bumps and around corners. I also loved how comfortable the seats were. Then you get a bunch of things that are just nice to have in a family van: Rear camera view, blindspot cameras integrated into gauges, Nice Bose audio, all the safety features, adaptive cruise, and lane keep (among the best in the automotive industry). It even detects movement in the back if you forget your pets or kids in the back and honks the horn. In the end, we bought the Carnival SX Prestige. Kia simply gave us too much for the money to pass up. That's their value proposition. They have to in order to compete with the big boys. So what were junky cars only bought by people who couldn't afford Japanese made cars a few years ago, are no growing into the best in each class. And it gave us a 10/100K warranty. You don't get that with the others. It's been two years since we bought one. We've taken it on some very long trips. Oh...and packing 4 people and luggage would produce 28-29MPGs. Not bad. So in the end, the Carnival is the clear winner. And no, I'm not a Kia Employee.
Fun fact: In EU, where the only* way to get a minivan is to import a used one from the US (usually the after-collision ones sold at auctions) we mostly import Pacificas, cause they loose value faster than Toyota and Sienna and therefore are the best value for money. And if we get problems with engine or transmission, replacing for a used one is 1-3% of cars value (each) and replacing for a new one is probably still less than 10%.
So basially the Chryslers unreliability does not matter, cause the oversupply of engines and transmissions is big enough here to make changing them on par with changing all the fluids in the car cost-wise.
*actually, Lexus announced it will offer Lexus LM, which is a minivan, however this is a rather specific vehicle and extremely pricey.
@@TheBlobik "the only way" - cmn, man! In EU I had Rifter, which was bigger and cheaper than any of US minivans. I can't now find anything similar to Rifter in Canada and very sad about it :(
I've been a GM and Nissan guy for decades. Due to the fact that all the companies seem to be not making sport sedans anymore, we looked at Kia. My father has had four in a row and he told me he was going a couple weeks later to get his fifth. We went to the dealership and we're shown the forte GT. Long story short, price, technology and performance won us over. We love the forte GT and that's even more apparent every time I smoke a Civic SI!
Thank you for share, I plan to buy a minivan for my family, Can you share some information about Carnival's reliability.

Chrysler Pacifica here. I love it! I don’t have kids at home either.
The same I brought a 2023 chrysler pacifica S and have to say I love it. It comfortable luxury ride good and to me the best looking minivan on the market. Being able to have stow n go is also great to have.
Absolutely love our Chrysler minivan. With that said they seriously need to get the price down. And offer a version that has no bells and whistles, just basics.
We just bought a 2023 Chrysler pacifica plug in hybrid, we hope reliability isn't an issue.
I have a 2013 Chrysler Town & Country with 409,000 miles and she still kicking along and is in good shape. So when ppl say chrysler dont last long that's a lie. My father always said if you take care of it it will take care of you. So i went and brought a 2022 chrysler pacifica limited S and have to say i love everything about it. From all the bells and whistles it rides great very comfortable seats and enough power to get around town with a really good sound system.
I must agree on this one. Maintenance is key to any vehicle. Recently we had a chance to drive the Pacifica and it was a pleasant experience. We have a 2022 Carnival which we picked because we fell in love with the looks and interior. We traded a 2017 Odyssey which had some electrical issues (9-speed version, stay away from that one!). The Carnival is very comfortable and spacious as described in the video. But recently we had to drive from Florida to OH on a rental Pacifica S trim (flights canceled, thanks Frontier...) and I must say I have no complaints. It drove through rain and a bit of ice and snow without trouble. Excellent power, felt secure in the highway, and seats were comfortable too. I still like my Carnival better due to slightly more cushion on the front seats and personal preferences around overall design and interior aesthetics. Performance wise they are both very good and I wouldn't mind having either as a daily driver. If I could add something to mine is the the hybrid engine option; sounds good depending on extra cost. Our daily commute is just 40 miles round trip so this would pretty much be driven on the battery which would save a lot of gas.
Every van should be as good as Toyota in today’s times. We send people in space for Pete sake. My 2004 Sienna LE will be 20 years old in October. I love this van. Rides like new.
I’ve had the 2021 Sienna for two years now.. not a single complaint! For those saying it lacks power, it does not at all! I’m used to driving sporty cars and this has enough juice to do what needs to be done, no one’s hot rodding in a van lol. Over 6 months in Texas I’ve averaged 32.4 mpg. I use this as my daily driver and work vehicle so bc I do lots of short city drives daily my mpg suffers a tad. But it’s been an amazing vehicle. Had a few trips to Florida and it did fantastic. I’ve removed the middle seats for a couple road trips, not hard at all, just four bolts.
I've taken one over high passes in the Rockies. It does fine. Engine noise is a problem but the power is fine and is similar to what a typical V6 minivan had 15 years ago which means enough for family use even when fully loaded.
Honda odyssey will be my pick
I just got my 2023 toyota sienna xse at the beginning of may had to order in march of 2022. So quite the wait. However totally worth it. Me and my wife just had our second baby 2 weeks ago. I plan on having this van for at least 15 years. And cant believe how much easier it is to use than an suv.
congrats
My 2006 Sienna works great after 3 timing belts changed. I love that I can remove the seats and fit 2 sets of sofa into it when I moved. Today, I like the Sienna Hybrid, but not enough available. Maybe I will wait for the 2024 one.
Toyota Sienna only offers a hybrid with a 4 cylinder. Too bad. The nice v-6 would have been my solid choice. Hopefully, they will bring that back. Making second row seats removable seems like a “must do” to me.
I'm used to working on Kias and I like the price. I'd probably go with that.
My family and I (there's 8 of us) have the Kia Carnival. It's everything we needed and so much more than we imagined. We're able to take rides that are comfortable for everyone. We absolutely loooove it and are so grateful to have it.
What's your favorite part of it? How reliable is it?
2023 Chrysler Pacifica limited hybrid fantom blue is my type of minivan. The others suck
2023 Kia Carnival EX will be our pick. Drove both the Honda and the Kia to compare and hands down the Kia in my opinion beat the Honda by a lot. The Honda felt like a typical Mini Van, but the Kia goes over the top!
I like Toyota Sienna.
I wish minivans made more of an effort to look more stylish. The Kia Carnival is perfect except that it doesn’t have AWD. The other minivans on the list look like they kept the same design since the 50s
Kia Carnival is one the good looking minivan in the market!
…..eh
But the 2nd row which is call VIP seats it’s so bad. It’s so hard to get to 3rd row if you are using it.
It does look great, but reliability is dismal.
My mother bought a Nissan Quest new in 1993 & it lasted about 20 years before finally falling apart one day. If Chrysler could make a Pacifica with THAT kind of reliability, this would be no contest for me anyways...
We have our 2022 Sienna XLE. We absolutely love it, the fuel efficiency is mind blowing with 40mpg. The only negative is personally i feel its soo light, I prefer something heavier while driving. But overall its worth every penny.
The Kia looks so beautiful and luxurious.
I bought my wife a 2021 Sienna XSE around March 2021…great buy before the prices sky rocketed.
Completely agree with you
I will prefer Toyota Sienna, because of its sky-high resale value.
May have to wait for more than 18 months to get it…..
…I ordered one Jan 2033 and the salesman couldn’t promise a delivery date. He said may take up to 1 to 2 years
@@stephenfiore9960 Why are they scarce?
Instead of waiting we got 2023 Odyssey Sport model 2 months ago
@@TheKDHK you did it right , dealers will happy to sell your order to make money.
We had a Honda Odyssey 2018, mid trim 9 speed transmission, and unfortunately it gave us lots of electrical issues. Traded for a 2022 Carnival SX and we absolutely love it. I've gone from OH to FL and to PA on it several times and is is a very pleasant drive. Depending on your appetite for throttle it can be harsh like 26 mpgs; however, if you take it easy and use the eco setting while keeping it at 75 or below you can hit 30 mpg. Really depends on how much you push on that pedal. Kind of a challenge because it does has a nice engine note when pushing a little 😉. Overall we are quite pleased with it and hope for many years of service out of it.
I think 2023 Sienna comes with Safety Sense 2.0, not 3.0. Toyota is not producing enough Sienna as there is a huge backlog. I think Sienna would be better if any one can get one.
I would get the Kia if I could.
I own a 2022 KIA Carnival SX and love it. It is powerful, smooth and quiet with tons of room. The Honda is nice (my son bought a 2022 Touring edition when he couldn't find a Carnival at MSRP). It is a little cramped for larger people in the front seats and legroom seems less than the Carnival. It is not as premium looking as the Carnival inside, either. The Sienna is nice but can't get out of its own way...no power and is pricey. The Chrysler is, well, a Chrysler. Very overpriced and unreliable.
I feel like your chrysler take is a bad take. Makes me question the rest.
If you tow or haul the Sienna is a loser. Fixed 2nd row seats just kill the interior hauling capability. If you're carrying only people it can be tolerable, but you're losing a good bit of what a minivan can do. The stow and go 2nd row seats in the Pacifica are a real advantage.
Minivan towing things makes it look funny and out of place. That is for trucks.
@@kenjkbs I know that you won't be impressed by the fact that minivans are actually considered to be trucks. If it has a flat load floor and a full opening rear hatch the EPA considers it to be a truck for fuel economy purposes. Thus you have such weirdness as the PT Cruiser being considered a "truck" but PT convertible being considered as a "car". In fact the original Dodge Caravan was designed by the truck division. After the car side saw how well it sold they snatched later designs away from truck so they could claim credit for it. Not that any of that has much to do with reality.
I’ve hauled Sheetrock and 1200 lbs loads in the thing… it’s awesome. The seats move up super far.
I agree 100 Percent,.... :)
Best Car of the year❤
Oh wow so great 👍 and very beautiful 😻❤️ and very good design with the new 🆕 technology for the new 🆕 generation hument and very easy to drive and comfortable ❤
I'm looking car with AWD minivan or AWD SUV which has same capacity(cargo space) as minivan. What would you recommend?
Although not on the list, I’m considering Hyundai Custo (only available in Asia so far), it’s really good value for money, it costs about ¥24k for a basic modification + excellent fuel economy (1.5 turbo engine).
Ypu can't haul around Americans with a 1.5 liter engine...... they're too fat..
Thank you for the comparisons.
Put a v6 in that Sienna and I will buy in a heart beat
Exactly, I don't like the complexity of having a Hybrid system.
@@dennisclouser3458it’s not complicated at all lol
There’s already a 2 year wait. I think Toyota is ok.
@@trumptookthevaccine1679 CVT tranny pulling a heavy vehicle around? TWO electric motors? Regenerative braking? More battery packs (very bad for environment)... That's complicated. laugh all you want.
@@trumptookthevaccine1679 $10,000 dealer markups, 2 year wait and quality issues....Have at it.
I got the kia carnval sx prestige and boy is it freaking nice as hell and not as ugly as the other vans. The lack of hybrid was the reason we got. Don't want a hybrid that's underpowered and can't tow worth crap
My mom got her Odyssey in 2003 and its still kicking. The worst thing that had to be worked on was the doors electronics at around 15 years
Thnks
Kia is the Best Option. Thanks 😊
Wow nice video
Lexus LM 300h is the van that I actually want but they don’t offer it in the states😢
Toyota Sienna all the time, every time the most reasonable choice. Peace of mind😅😅😮😅😮😅😅😅😂
I like the spacious & lowered wagon compare to SUV
I agree minivans provide several advantages over SUVs, so it is unfortunate that Ford, GM, Mazda and Nissan no longer make minivans. GM & Ford just want to make big SUVs because they make the most profit
add up alphard and vellfire too
Toyota Sienn because have hybrid system, best reliability and durability
Pacifica is the best
I agree Toyota Sienna xle is my next car to retire
I love Toyota 😊
I will pick 2023 soenna
Super 💖 🚗
Can’t wait to get my Toyota Sienna, I love that they’re all made Hybrid now, 36 mpg 👍
Drove a 21 odyssey from Philadelphia to outer banks and got 32 miles a gallon .

We got 2023 Odyssey Sports and we love the comfort and smooth drive plus odyssey is known for high resale value too, love the sport with black out trims
Can't go wrong with Honda.
It’s smoothest of all!
honda ugly as hell
All the compact cargo vans are dead in the USA and I can't afford a full-size van nor do I want one. I wish Toyota would bring their small vans over here, or at least offer a stripped-down cargo version of the Sienna for a reasonable price.
Hello everyone, I need a minivan badly. Want to know which one you don’t have to wait and no markup.
Thanks
The Toyota Sienna is my choice I had a 2012 and it was one of the best riding vehicles that I've owned. I plan on buying a 2024 but want cord and plug connected like my RAV 4 Prime. This battery-add was discussed for 2024 and would make the Sienna impossible to beat. With my RAV4 Prime, I rarely buy gas as it goes 44 miles on electric, I want this feature on the Sienna.
My friend have been driving his 2012 Toyota Sienna LE since 2012 doing TAXI. The van has over 500,000 miles now.
Sir What about 5staer safety
What's ur opinion or Volkswagen Multivan
By any chance, is Toyota Sienna coming with Hybrid technology?
I got Odyssey 2022 - very nice car
Toyota Sienna for me 👍
I have a 2017 sienna xle with dvd. Got it for 35k. Now 75k miles and no issue at all, dealer offer $22k

Dealerships offer lower prices for convenience. This way you don't have to sell it to random people. I'd keep your Sienna if you like it.
I had huge issues with transmission(idling or hesitation between acceleration) 2017 Honda Odyssey and ended up with trading it for Highlander because dealer service could not do anything about it. And I got to know that it was not only my problem, but two other my families also had same issue and sold them before 50K miles of ownership. Never will go back to Odyssey or even Honda...
Honda minivans have known transmission issues. But apparently the 2020 and newer have the 10 speed transmission which is supposed to be great.
Have a 2012 and 2018 with 10 speed transmission. No problems.
Change transmission fluid and disable vsm
TOYOTA SIENNA 🙂👍

Not being able to remove Toyota seats was a deal breaker for me. Shame.
I love mty2014 Sienna. Apparently there is a huge waiting list for new Siennas. yhere is probably a good reason you can get a Dodge or Kia right away. Pay as you go.
I love my Toyota Sienna it’s great and I haven’t had any issues in 3 years so far.
I also had a RAV4 I enjoyed and before that I had a Prius that was and is my favorite car ever to have. I hated to give it up, but hubby couldn’t get in it with his back issues. Otherwise I would still have it.
siena/osesy difrent leage,but i really like pacifica.
If it can be removed 2nd row seats, It will be the best!
I would rate them as follows
Depending on trims
1 pacifica hybrid pinnacle 1 Toyota
2Toyota sienna 2 pacifica awd
3Kia carnival 3 Kia carnival
4honda 4 honda
How can honda get #2 spot with a van that dosen't offer awd or a hybrid option?
Not even maybe!
Toyota only has electrical awd. Not mechanical awd. So it's more than a rear wheel assist. The engine is loud and underpowered. I dont believe that a brand new model of any brand can be called reliable as of yet.
Pacifica offers more options
Plug in hybrid
Awd and stow in go middle seats
Best interior trims with the pinnacle.
Our 2020 Awd pacifica has been rock solid, and i would buy one again in a flash.
With the hybrid pacifica you could technically run on pure electric all the time, seeing as most vans are driven short distance haling kids and gear around.
The awd gas version is not as efficient but it offers middle seat stow n go also and the best infotainment and interior trims, and a true mechanical awd system. And a good power.
You write like a confused feline
American and Australian Honda Odyssey is so different. I like the Australian one better because lighting is All LED and at night time it looks so cool.

Not having AWD is not a downside. It's not needed as these are all FWD-biased having the majority of the weight over the front wheels. You also reduce the price by around $2000 + any maintenance over the time of ownership relating to the AWD components.
Remember tires: no need to replace all 4 at once!
I live in the forest and have to have AWD for those snowy trips down the mountain. Ice too. It's too dangerous not to, but we need the van size, so AWD is a key factor.
I thought i heard that the Kia carnival is coming out with a hybrid
Toyota seems to be the best out of those 4

But it is the ugliest of all vans.
Top 4 minivan, more like the only 4 minivans
Marvel carnival kia
Sienna is the best I have one
From 2011
safest family van
It would be nice if tesla made a minivan. The cyber truck was supposed to be 6 seat but now only 5.
Its not about the van being electric... after driving a Tesla and getting used to its seamless controls/interface I couldn't go back to any of these older infotainment/User interfaces.
You also don't talk about the condensation problem with the Sienna's engine. Reviews talk about not being able to drive the car constantly short distances esp in cold weather or condensation builds and the oil breaks down. Wellll if you are typical family you are often doing short trips -drop off at school, sports run to the stores. Seems like a really big problem.
Thank you for bringing that up ! I thought I was the only one who knew that. I’m hoping the 2024 will fix it but then again I need all the seats out so I guess that’s a moot point.
Put a new thermostat or higher temperature thermostat, much colder calamities partly cover the radiator, cheers☕ .
@@rajlowkie6616 I don’t think it’s that simple, being a hybrid , I’m waiting on 2024 , maybe the CCN will have good news

Do they even sell those in the US?
My favourite family mini van ......sienna car
Toyota is super ...I love that mini van..it worths the money
Ok we own a 2020 dodge grand caravan i want the Toyota senna yea
❤🎉
I like # 1
Sienna 👍
My 2005 Chrysler Minivan has power lift gate I find it ridiculous that it isn't standard on all minivans. It also has power sliding side doors. Honda needs to get with it.
Honda has that too. And the kick open feature
I would rather choose reliability over features
@@kenjkbswhy are you choosing between the two? They are standard these days

Hello khoyrul bay
Aku milih angkot, semilir.......
Thanks for watching!
Sienna
there are total 4 minivans in the market to choose from....
2023 sienna best minivan. But also the most elusive and impossible to get. Pricing is very reasonable but can't get any inventory so dealers mark up $5k to $20k!!! Kid you not my local dealer flat out said $20k over msrp and said there's always someone desperate to pay for it.
I liked the idea of having the hybrid sienna. Found one in vero beach Florida if I wanted to pay dealers fee of 14,999. Nope not for me.
I have a 2016 odyssey that I do love, just wish the back hatch was automatic cause closing hatch can be a little difficult at times.
@mianucrew here in Long Island NY a dealer is asking for a $20k over MSRP for a Sienna XLE. It's just sick what these dealers do. Auto mfg need to do away with dealers and sell direct to consumers.
I prefer Honda odysse coz of safety features

Yes, SUVs are waste of time; lucky you in North America region, you can get them. I really regret that not available in Europe, at least in Poland (second hand only); all of them are master pieces, maybe really to choose one only would be Pacifica because of outlook
We are about to get access to Lexus LM in Europe (and Poland specifically is expected to be a market for those) but the price is overwhelming, you can get a reasonably big apartment for what LM is going to cost.
And, if you are blind and thus dont mind the ugliness I guess you can get VW Multivan / Mercedes V-class, size-wise they are like a minivan, shape-wise they are like a van, equipment-wise they are underequiped unless you pay for the extremely pricey options (this gets you close to the LM territory of expensiveness), and quality-wise they are German cars - good marketing, but not as good as hyped.
But yes, it also saddens me that if we want a decent minivan we kinda have to import in most cases. My Chrysler Pacifica is on the way via the Atlantic - Pacificas are the most commonly imported minivans as they do not have such high resale value, so you can get better value for money when you buy at auctions.
And since so many get imported for body parts, chryslers low reliability is not a problem - if your engine or transmission breaks, you just get another used one cheap. A set of rims for the car is more expensive than the transmission, and replacing engine costs roughly 5x as much as changing oil in it.
@@TheBlobik angular shapes ... Dangerous zone of negotiations with my wife 😉😊 besides VW which prices are exploding, still v from MB or new Opel Zafira life, Peugeot Traveller (if I am not mistaken) same platform with Toyota proace I think, lexus is not my favourite, but in case of any reason you have to be with CO2 under 150 wltp then, nothing on the market, only private import, tough time 😕
Toyota senna
