Steering Wheel Refinish and Replacement - Lexus ES300 Redo Project

Continuing with the ES300 Redo Project, we replaced the worn out and leather damaged steering wheel with a replacement steering wheel obtained from the salvage yard. We sanded, cleaned up and refinished the replacement wheel with SEM color coat vinyl flexible cordovan brown spray paint. After allowing it to dry for a day, we applied vinyl clear coat spray paint to give it gloss appearance.

If you guys want an aftermarket steering wheel for the 99 Lexus es300, the Lexus is300 steering wheel hub adapter will fit nice on this car! The boss kit 121h hub adapter would be the one.

I found some really nice new Lexus LX Steering wheels on ebay. I am wondering can the LX steering wheel fit into my ES? Here is a link as an example. Thanks in advance!

You could try but I doubt it. The LX is a completely different car. Also, you'd have to get the air bag with the steering wheel. And I'd guess that there's push button controls on the LX wheel that not compatible with the ES.

What size socket did you use to remove the center bolt?

Don't recall ... must be either 17 or 19 mm.
