We shot this video in a similar style to Halo Follower, Rocket Sloth, Fallout Plays, and Pongsifu in parts. We have been influenced by content creators like HiddenXperia, Mint Blitz, Chopper, and Evade.
The AR now actually has a skill gap. Mid range fights are now viable with short bursts. It's no BR but damn is it alot better than before.
Also if you happen to pop an enemy's shields before the mag runs out, stop firing so the reticle resets, then 1 long burst will end them faster than just holding the trigger the whole time

Shoot while walking backwards so when they go to melee they miss and then you can kill them - works 85% of the time

It was actually a lot more skill based on the beta in my opinion. Don't know why they changed it.
I like to keep it on me and spray and prey them once I break their shields with whatever other weapon I have. Lol. The sidekick is a quick firing beast tho. Sometimes I can mop the map with just the sidekick. And if my mag runs out, I still got 36 rounds in my ma40 bud. Lol
Yeah the Ole Spray and Pray! Honestly irritates the hell out of me cause I prefer more precision based guns like BR, Pistol, and Bandit etc but if you miss just a couple of shots aiming for the head more often then not the AR will take you down or end with a trade. Just feels like the odds are not in your favor if you are trying the more skill based approach and miss a shot or two while there minimum aim needed approach usually prevails..
….orrrr you can not always run and the enemy, tap fire, or circle strafe in a moderately close range and the thing melts. 🤷♂️
It’s way more versatile than this video suggests lol. I’ll tap fire it a snipers just to keep them descoped, something I’ve done with SMG’s all the way back in H2. Sometimes it does just enough to get you out of a death trap.

I love the commando. Great accurate weapon if you fire it like a semiautomatic. I really like tha bandits too.
I hate that they phased out the sidearm and replaced it with a BR or DMR mode depending. Just turns every match into a mini sniper match. Literally changes the dynamics when everybody just has an AR and a pistol.
Never understood people who enjoy spawning with a BR
BR for long range, AR for mid to short. Sidearm is kinda good for long range, but I prefer the side arm for closer together maps so you can whip it out real quick when you run dry on your AR mag.

In all fairness, halo infinite does not need a skill gap, I consider my self half decent at the game, but If there was a big skill gap to use weapons the game would be deader then it already is, 343 is killing halo as we know it, only 2 good things they done was 1. The new forge and 2. The new custom games tab. And that allowed for new players to come in and enjoy the game. Start messing with the basic AR and make it harder to use, the game would die

Ah yes, in a game that makes headshots easy to get, the assault rifle takes no skill. Lol
Not skill based? Positioning, cycling, total tracking, reaction time, requires use of nades and Melee, multi tasking, and it has a head shot multiplier. AR is a far better start for game types than the br. The br is a power weapon and should only be a pick up, there's like...actual gameplay with the AR.

@JohnnysBox I'd rather have a legit discussion about it. Halo is an old game now that needs to be careful about how it's going to chop out a corner of the market it can be top of. Having a hit scan, no recoil, bullet magnetism burst fire weapon against big, slow moving targets, may be the least skill based "shoot them in the face" gun of any big shooter out there. Every other fps does it better than the BR. That being said, the BR is very unique in its own game FULL of very unique, different weapons that used to incentivize a healthy utility based meta with halo's standout health system. When you have a BR start, especially with how wide open most of the maps are, you just give the best gun in the game to everyone who can now shoot at everyone from all distances at all times. It's extremely repetitive, mindless gameplay. And while having good aim does make the BR better, on PC everyone is proficient and you will almost always lose the 2v1 without getting atleast one with how slow the health is. AR start allows players to close the distance and actually use cover, melee timing and nades for a much more personal, brawl like fun that halo can offer in a market that mostly lacks that experience. I love the BR in infinite, it's my favorite version of it yet, AND the AR is also my favorite as they've finally balanced it. I just strongly believe the BR needs to be a pick up only outside of swat so players actually have the time and incentive to actually pick up the great variety of other weapons in halo infinite, forcing a much more complex game with a wider sandbox, of which most shooters can't offer with most of their guns being identical in their core mechanics.
