@@rizescrappy8729 yeah, it's literally always worth the money to get a lawyer and go to court, I got pulled over for doing 80mph in a 40 at 4am on an empty road and while the cop was cool and just wrote me for speeding not reckless driving or anything, instead of paying the $550 ticket that would have had mandatory traffic school without removing the points, I payed the lawyer $250 and he got it down to $200 in court fees with no points . it is literally always worth it

But then why did the male officer clarify that the reason he was explaining, and not her, was because "he got him on the radar." Which implies some individual control, and not shared control of the radar. Confusing.

You don't need big balls to call cops out on their BS. I've done it since I was 18 years old. Was taught never to admit to anything and question everything. Especially when they flat out lie and you know it. Been pulled for 127 in an 80 before. When I knew the cops were radaring in the area , my cruise was set with traffic , the guy in the right lane beside me saw the cops and panic break to like 50 kmh and made it look like I was tearing passed him. So they pulled me and wrote a ticket , questioned the crap out of them and denied the speed. Took it to court myself , to have it thrown out.

They get thrown out. They dont pay these tickets unless they are actually guilty, i would be shocked if they even pay those tickets due to the cops not wanting to fight them in court. 1 email from their rep (likely ticket dismissers) they probably drop the ticket almost every time.

1. In Cali they don’t have to show you the radar. They can if they want, but won’t.
2. They can’t radar/laser your cars speed if they’re following you or facing the same direction. She would’ve had to be at a dead stop to get your speed then proceed to break every moving violation to catch up to you at “115 mph.” She could’ve paced you, but that’s sketchy at best.

I started college majoring in criminal justice, this is how you know all they did was take some quick test, pass through academy and stopped learning there. Imagine sitting there, being able to clock someone going 115mph and then catching up to them going 115mph+. This is getting dismissed easily.

Not really. Most states only require the radar/lidar calibration and service every 3 or 6 months and most agencies make sure they fulfill that requirement because there is a lot of money on the line. You can still ask to see the calibration and make sure it's in compliance with state law, you have nothing to lose. However a different line of questioning may be to call the technician who performed the calibration and service as a witness, which they will not be present, and then object to the evidence being admitted on the grounds that there is no person there to cross examine as to it's validity. The confrontation clause of the 6th amendment allows the defendant to confront his accusers which includes any witnesses who give professional statements or written testimony on the evidence. I the last 15 years this was affirmed to include such things as lab results from drug testing to breathalyzer printouts ( see Melendez-Diaz v Mass and Bullcoming v New Mexico).
@@dcsteve7869 I brought up a radar calibration issue during traffic court 20 years ago when I was 17. I asked the cop to provide the calibration record and the judge stepped in and spoke for him saying "he does not need to provide you with that". I asked, "So how do you know he's telling the truth?" Judge said, "He's a sworn officer of the law. He's cannot lie under oath. He does not need to provide you a calibration record." Lastly, I asked the judge, "Your honor, are you acting on the behalf of the defendant (cop)?". Oooh ..she flipped a lid with a "HOW DARE YOU?!!!" and gave me an earful!!! In the end, they reduced the fine to $0 and just docked points on my driving record.
