I'm pretty sure the reason George Lopez played those 4 characters is because they were all different perspectives Max had of the teacher character. The electric villain is obviously for that whole "give up on your dreams" bit, the robot thing because the teacher is generally doing his job, and the ice golem thing is because he's also a parent and parents are super protective and stuff. That doesn't make it good, of course, but I think that the choice was very deliberate.
Yea
Holy crap that's genius
Great point
It makes too much sense.
Also: fun fact, the "Strangers" you see in your dream are likely people you saw in public, and their faces were put into your subconsious.
OF COURSE Max's characters in his dream would be based on his teacher, he sees his teacher every day.

This movie was literally dreamed up by Robert Rodriguez's kids, that's why it says "a Rodriguez family film" because the director was inspired by his children to make this movie. Robert didn't change many things he allowed his kids to think up the story and he wrote it as his kids were telling him which is why it seems a bit bad to some people but it's because the idea came out from the mind of Robert Rodriguez's son one of them who's name is actually max and that's why they named the main character that, because the actual max was a dreamer. PS. When he says shark girl and lava boy it's super halarious!!
