- Preparation of the substrate with dry pack mortar. After dry pack mortar is dry next step is porcelain tile installation 24"x 24" or 60cm x 60cm with rectified edges (sharp). T-Lock™ tile leveling system makes the installation easy and fast. This system ensures that the tile installation will be leveled on the point tile to tile (each tile is leveled by all tiles around it). It also prevents tiles from warping as the thin set cures.

30 years in the business...Just doing kitchens and baths now...That job is the biggest dry pack ( we call them wet bed in philly) I have seen done...We usually just go with the lay of the land, unless its real bad then we patch and fly...:)...Nice job! Good mechanics too!
Thank you... good luck with your job
You'd be surprised by how much drypack is used out there on a yearly basis me and the crew I work with do average 60k sq2 of drypack sometimes over a foot thick. Sure is a great workout
you Guy's are doing great job. nice work👍👍
Really an excellent job.
Really nice install.
ótimo trabalho, um abraço aos brasileiros do vídeo.
Actually the complete opposite, been in the tile trade over 20 years and still love it as much as the day I started. I make great money and love what I do
good job
great Job
My knees started hurting just by watching first guy prep, 😲
it's a dirty job but somebody's (the real heros) got to do it.
Tile layer is missing the pointer on his right glove. Nice job boys, real nice!

How thick was the bed of mortar and how long did the mortar take to cure/dry before the tiling started
Thanks in advance for your feed back. Great videos
Did you ever get an answer to your question? I was wondering the same thing.
Very nice job. I love doing these large dry pack jobs but noticed that this man does not compact his mortar.
Cause they don’t know

Did you not use tile expansion joints recommended at 5 meter intervals?
Not really needed in a climate controlled building, unless it's controlled at near or below freezing temperatures
If this is like Ditra (green uncoupling material seen here) isn't this guy installing it wrong side up? or wait....is there a special reason to do so ( i.e.install it fleece side up as well as not even bother to smooth and embed it properly )over these smaller areas prior to the dry pack?
That is hard work! I would never make it at that job.
cooldog60 why you are quitter... before you even started.Do not to do to yourself in subconscious mind
Before I even started? What do you think I am 10 years old?
cooldog60 if you are 10 or 50 doesn't matter, you have to like it what you do...This is the main thing.Good luck with your career I hope you like it what you do or will do.
My career is long over I retired over 10 years ago.
What is the wet adhesive between old concrete and new dry pack
you can use pure cement, or portland often known as a slurry coat. you mix it up very soupy and broom it onto the slab and immediately cover it with drypack before it flashes over.
You lay the tiles in to a freshly screeded floor before the screed has set?
maybe there was little risk since it was dry pack, but maybe not
اني اسطه من العراق ماكو شركه عمل تسحبني من العراق اعمل معاكم
Alright, but that beat was fire tho xD
Ratio of mixture? And after how much days need to cure before installing tile on surface?
Did you figure how long it needs to cure? I was wondering the same thing.
How thick is the dry pack bed?
Sparq Dry pack bed is 3/8" (10mm) to 1' (26 mm) thick
Next time you have to try this : czcams.com/video/O0L8GMptU4U/video.html capacity up to 5 m^3 / hour
😎😎
Is it just me or did the guy putting down the uncoupling sheets put them in upside down?
Makes no difference if you uncouple the top from the bottom or the bottom from the top. There is no upside down
t-lock no theres in my country-indonesia.....sell in my country .pleaseeeee....i wait more

Can't blame someone else for ruining something you have complete control over.
If this skill isn't in your toolbox then your Not a true tile setter. Mud work rocks!
You should learn to bid your jobs I guess, i get 6 to 7a SF everyday for ceramic 12 for granite, it's all about skills and clientele.
wow that's a lot for ceramic
Jason Morgan so your poor and your back is killing you?
imarn tail fiksar

Polmaster Construction & Tile Ltd
thank you
How thick was the bed of mortar and how long did the mortar take to cure/dry before the tiling started
This is how real tile setters do it, pay attention and do likewise. If you've never done a large drypack job your not a master level setter!
Jason Morgan
Who cares?
I use to get $3.35 sq. ft for ceramic and $5.25 sq. ft for marble in the 80's. The Mexicans ruined that trade a long time ago. Now ceramic is $2.50 sq. ft and Marble is $3.75 sq. ft. I'm sure you can do the math.
Nice job but do all you all a favor and get PROKNEES
Please let me never to have to do this.
Joey Mac Yea they really look like they hate their lives
Its hard, really really hard.
hey wheres the helpers lolol

Polmaster Construction & Tile Ltd hye i m mujahid 4 Pakistan nd im tail fikcer plz contect me i want to this job
That's terrible because they didn't put it in there good
Thats not how you do dry pack. Where are your elevation pads? Where are your screeds? Why aren't you guys compacting your dry pack? This is completely wrong. Can't believe there's people that have no pride in their work.
that guy looks like he hates his job. I bet he gets miserable pay.
Imabeast191 / Tile setters make 400 to 500 a day. He looks like he's having fun to me.
They do? Not in a unionized company on an hourly rate thats for sure.
13 plus years doing tile steady and I have bursitis in both knees and nerve issues in the lower back.
@Chiafade now its not for everyone. Separates the men from the boys
waisting of time with this tool and actually is not good at all. When You lift tiles You got an air under that tiles. I would like to see two or three womens to walk around that floor. It will be ding dong effect everywhere. Good luck beginners learn from the master not from amater.
Beko Vasje please watch this czcams.com/video/sMjZAYlHvks/video.html
Beko Their screeds look flat and his mortar beds are consistent and uniform so I'd bet their only lifting a tiny fraction of an inch.
