Out of all these bikes which one would you choose?
the first Cannondale!
Cannondale! no doubt, nicest bike in peloton for 2023 GdI!
Aurum it looks traditional and beautiful I love it. Bike manufacturers take note, you will NEVER sell what I don't like or want. Basically every other manufacturer take note!
Well, my Steamroller has Speedplay pedals, a Bolt, and some electrical tape. So, as I already basically own most of the second bike, I gotta go with the EF Cannondale. To me, modern bikes look ugly, but that machine is gorgeous.

The best thing in this video is the enthusiasm vibrating off Ollie. 👍
I was waiting to troll you had you written "The best thing in this video is the enthusiasm vibrating off [of] Ollie" . . . as an English Teacher! I'm happily disappointed😂
Sooo true!! I love it when Ollie nerds out!
Ollie seems very artificially enthusiastic to me….
@@mebunzing Nothing artificial there! Hard to meet someone more passionate about bikes!
Ollie's enthusiasm over the recycled paint had him thinking that the Danish rider Magnus Cort Nielsen bike was that of American rider Nielson Powless. Dr Bridgewood does science not geography
The Danish flag next to his name was a clue. As was the use of his surname to identify the rider.
@@johnwestwell2241 yes, the famously danish Neilson Powless
*facepalm*
Not make geographers are going to have any clue who those people are or what a Cannondale is...
That chain wax check and peeping the electrical tape, no one gets more excited about marginal gains than Ollie.😂
I must do that valve thing but I hate Schrader, and yes so much I am trying to think how to adapt so can put presta valves on rims when I have a car
I doubt there's any gain for the Ceramic Speed rear jockey cover, just hassle for the mechanics.
@@charlestoast4051 I bet there is gains! Maybe like 1w though so unless really desperate then it is not worth going for it
@@mlee6050 dumb idea for a car. Schrader valves are better for a car due to the volume of air and lower pressure.
@@charlestoast4051 a friend of mine tested that pulley cage and it gave him 2w over his previous oversized pulley system in the tunnel. This is on two bikes he tested on the same day. He never tested the drag with a stock cage though so it's hard to tell if you gain more from the oversized pulleys and aero cover vs just having a smaller cage with marginally less efficient small pulleys.
A horizontal (or close to it) top tube is always a fav of mine... diggin' that Aurum Magma. I love such a nod to classic road bicycle style.
Agreed. I love the Magna. Not in white though, please...with that translucent ice effect.
I am a big fan of Aurum frames as welll... Alberto and Ivan have done a amazing job ....
Pretty sure it's Magnus Cort's Cannondale.
Edit: spelling
my bad! i’d even seen him earlier in the day 🤦♂️
@@oliverbridgewood3929 Do you remember what frame size he was using?
it is also „sure“
@@yuckz0ne that 🎤 slipped in by mistake 🤣
YUP! A bit obvious! The team puts surnames on the frames
28mm tyres on pro bikes is insane. 10 years ago endurance bikes were sold with 23mm, just shows how things change in cycling.
Some things certainly change at glacial pace in the pro peloton. But it was all predictable.
Funny, Because my friend stocked up on a ton of 23 mm tires a few years ago.
Who is choosing the products now though? Riders or sponsors agents?
You have to go fatter heavier tires with road disc or you lock up the brakes too easy on the preferred 23-25mm high pressure tires that are still used for the hour record or in TTs.
@@bennettbrookstein4332 if they live somewhere with very good roads, they're not going to lose much by going with 23s. Plus, many bikes still on the road don't even fit 28s anyway
Ollie, cycling’s equivalent of a Star Wars nerd 😂 his excitement for simple gains is loveable 👍
The EF bike you were describing, do not belong to Nielson Powless (who by the way is not on the team for the Giro d’Italia), but to Magnus Cort Nielsen… the Danish flag 🇩🇰 in front of the name was the sign that gave it away.
Ollie was clearly too distracted by that stunning paint job!
Thanks Ollie ... great video. I favourite topic was the EF Education frame paint job ... brilliant.
I'd love the EF Lab 71, that and the cool looking Cube from Intermarche
Waxed chain patrol! Ollie you are such a geek :) we love you x
Love when Ollie gets his grubby little hands on new tech
That Colnogo bike looked absolutely sick
Just a regular black bike with a colnago logo. Actually its the most boring of them all.
Great vid man, love the tech
Are we sure we ever saw Magnus Cort and Neilson Powless in the same room at the same time ? Maybe there's room for investigation here 🤔🤔
ollie is in his element geeking out on new bike tech
These videos are really fun to watch. I wish we got more pro mechanic videos. Im really happy to see Cannondale making smart choices about thier new bike models. Also really cool to see all the riders going to side with tires. Road and gravel bikes getting closer every day 😅
geez the branding logos and textures on that UAE Colnago is impossibly sharp-looking. 💎
I absolutely love all of the bicycles displayed here. I am partial to Cannondale bikes since they are a brand I've raced with and still ride on the road, but ... the Cannondale I ride is in the frame style of the Aurum bike with much older technology. The one I loved the most of them alll, and not by much, is the Merida. Wow, I loved it!!
The Supersix is magnus cort nielsen's (not the famous nielsen powless we all know about)
my bad! you are correct
@@oliverbridgewood3929 no problem, nelson powless did basically every race possible on the calendar this year, let's say it's habit 😂
I like the wide internal ENVE wheels with 28mm tires. I Wonder how much smoother the tire will transition and how much faster they think they will be. I want a set of those!
Nice 1 Olli,
love your tour break down of the bikes in the pits, great that you have access & are trusted to do so, oh i dunno as i wouldn't say know to any of them, it is surprising how so many wax their chains & how many don't wax them, at this level you would of thought that all the teams would, some if not all the paint jobs of late & on MTBs are really really nice & individual nowadays,
Get some more back stage bikes if you can olli
love this tech talk ....fills in my devotion to cyclimg
The hidden valve stems are interesting. Seems like the next logical step after hidden brake and shift cables.
I think they're just angling to make sure they don't have to align them for bike vault submissions.
That type of value adaptor/extender for a presta value was on Triathlon bikes/wheels over 10 years ago. Zipp had one of the first extenders.
Awesome & Thanks :)
Intermarche's bikes are so beautiful! Love the color combination. Caicedo's is pretty cool too. And I think this video has convinced me to wax my chain.
Yes, yes, yes! Here's how to do it! 👉 czcams.com/video/1pndkk5fTiw/video.html
@@gcntech thanks ;)
You can recreate the multicolor Canondale paint. By spraying a thin spray of color paint over a thick solid base color. Then you wet sandpaper the thin colored paint to create a fade. Repeat and layer with different paint colors. Then wet sand to create that multi color fade effect.
Cube! I love Cube bikes. Everytime I see a cube i'm saying to myself " Tha'ts a nice cube " .
Man, the Merida is gorgeous. They really did that Japanese national champion bike right.
Man's on fire! 🔥
Well done. Pro Cycling was so colouful in years past. It would be great to see teams get back to that sort of style.
What's your favourite bike/kit of all time?
@@gcntech 7-11 Hoonved
Like a kid in a candy store!!!! wow, so much blingy new stuff to drool over....Love the Japanese Champion's bike, the doggie is super cool! Much love to the Colnago, just means biznezz!!
Amazing Scott Plasma. Built for speed 💪
The most beautiful paintjob layout on the LAB71 I have ever seen 😮😊
haha, bit of dutch there from Piet, "So it matches your pols" - pols being "wrist". ;)
That AURUM is a work of Art.

MERIDA is such a sleek, aero bike. Love the vid GCN! keep it up! 💪🏾🚴🚴
Thanks Andrew!
Again this is why Ollie would be my go to Pro Mechanic, he is very meticulous and looks at all the small details.
Paint on the first bike was amazing
I absolutely love those colors!!
EFs gear and kit are so good looking
That Cube is badass
Gotta be that Cube, reminds me of my old Huffy from when i was a kid...
Loved the side eye from Ollie, no wax…😂😂😂
Just started waxing my chain this week. Glad I did, wouldn’t want to disappoint Ollie😂
Did you use Ollie's chain waxing guide? 👉 czcams.com/video/1pndkk5fTiw/video.html
4:16 I thought Ollie did a taste test for a second 😂
Still deciding, i need a tt for fun , the dale is awsome , want an aurum , need a Colnago
Im pretty sure the Cannondale road bike was from Magnus Cort Nielsen and not Neilson Powless. (The sticker said Nielsen, not Neilson, and there was also a danish flag)
Interesting watching G’s interview at the end of stage 4 just now, he mentioned that some teams were pretty nervous with their tyres descending in the wet… Is that the new Vittoria’s I wonder?
I actually ordered that griptape the other day 😬 seems I wasn't the first to think about it.
1:41 showing the Danish rider Nielsen. Ollie, with a straight face: "this one belongs to Neilson Powless". LOL!
Shrader valves was quite surprising but what Ollie didn't mention is the fact that they are much faster to fill and empty because of larger inner diameter and much easier to fill with sealant. They even resist blocking by sealant better because of a larger valve seat.
The hiding inside the rim was a nice feature too.
Next we'll see side cutouts à la disc wheels on all high profile rims.
Rotational drag - one thought is that car tyres are balanced with counter weights. My tyres always have a weight imbalance so the there is some form or eccentric force that much affect performance ever so slightly. Are pro wheels balanced to create an even distribution of weight?
good segment ollie!
I'd be intrigued to see if you guys could find out about the Eolo TT bikes - Aurum don't make them and last I read they used a Ribble. Could you guys shed any light on this?
Intermarche/Cube going for the MuddyFox MTB retro look
11-34t cassettes is interesting. Normal on my rail trail/road touring bikes here in Victoria, Oz. I won't be touching a 55t crankset, though.
Last year I rode 30mm Schwalbe Speed, this year Pirelli PZero 13:00 28mm F& R
Ben Healy has some kick ass custom shoes to match the kit and bike, too.
It's Magnus Cort "Nielsen"'s bike (EF, Cannondale)
I'd pick Colnago. Always Colnago, closely followed by a Pinarello, though the only ones I could ever afford were LeMonds and Serrottas. I can't believe they are pushing 58 chainrings in front, or 60 in TT. While I've never reached race-caliber, a 52 kept me plenty challenged.
Beautiful bike ❤❤❤❤
Nice Aurum bike for the Yollo Kometa
What psi do they use with 28mm tires ?
I just started waxing my chain for the fist time, so far its been a good experience. A little costly at first but shouldn't be as bad going forward.
I am committed now, too. My biggest issue is the never-ending wax “snow” (wax coming off the chain) that keeps cluttering up my frame and parts. Hard to clean. I use a car detail brush and vacuum but it just keeps snowing. So you either have to deal with constant chain snow or black lube marks. Wish there were a cleaner solution.
Replacing the master link once every 7-10 days adds up in a hurry for high mileage riders. Or are you reusing ?
@Kevin Barkema I've been reusing for about 3 times haven't had an issue yet.
@Kevin Barkema I've reused "non-resusable" links a good 8-10x through nearly every chain I've owned in the last 200,000 miles of biking I've done. Some of those chains had "reusable links". I've broken 3 chains during that period and none were at the removable link
the litenings paintjobs are really remarkable
Some nice stuff there. Assimilate me with the Cube please, Captain Ollie !!
Cool bikes, but I like the cap better than the tiara... I mean, hairband :D But I understand it's a tough job, someone has got to do it!
loooling over wax chain patrol :)
EF Cannondale looks amazing.
Ollie I have 28mm Conti GP5K tubeless and they ballon to 31.2mm @55psi on my 303 firecrest which has a 25mm internal rim width.
the valueless wheelset is also very stable and balanced
Ollie well done on your own TT result...sooo close to that 18
My top Colnago VR4S with fat tires and also Pistoleros Bike "AURUM MAGMA"
The Aurum pleasingly a little 'old school' or tech has caught up with me
10:19 best bike I’ve seen in years. Horizontal top tube. No dropped seatstay. Round handlebar. Normal stem. Aaaand even tubulars.
You mean worst bike? They are charging 4100€ for frame alone, which is ridiculous considering it's outdated. I mean, it is supposed to be a lightweight climbing bike, but frame itself isn't that much lighter than something like Elves Vanyar, which costs 1/4th of Aurum. The Aurum bike is a literal waste of carbon.
Also, flat top handlebars are arguably more comfortable than round bars.
The bike of Magnus Cort Nelson Powless a Danish American bike rider 🙂
行け!幸也 行け!is a simple self motivation translates to Go! Yukiya Go!
That flipped forward seat post on the new superslice...where the noobs now who said my 'seatpost was the wrong way round' hehe.
The Cannondale TT bike looks like a Look 795 with that stem
Like the Cube bikes
Any updates with the Factor bikes?
I would be happy with any of these bikes, but I would choose the Colnago or cannondale!
Aurum traditional geometry= Love!
THIS WAS AWESOME!!!
That Newmen wheels have been released around the TdF last year. But they are hard to spot without the valve stems. Only one question, how should these wheels be oriented for the bike vault?
Colors, yay!!
that bile belogs to magnus cort nielsen not powless 😂😂 1:41

I like the cannondale
Great vid. Loved the comment, "I wish you could experience what I'm feeling right now." Ha😉 Which one do I like? Can I have one of each?
Ollie's enthusiasm is magic. Those invisible valves will mess up the bike vault rules!
Logo still has to be aligned
Let's not pretent Ollie doesn't already change the rules every week! 😂
Please measure the next time the wide of the tires...
Thats a big different when 28mm Pops Out to 32mm on the rim!
11:50 thought I'm the only one carrying my phone in my shoe :D
I wonder how they keep the thickness of the paint really consistent and light?
I’m betting it weighs around 11.4kgs/25lbs. I had an OCR 1 which I really liked.
Ollie has clearly not watched his GCN show. How often did they mention that the Giro fortunately has NO territory restrictions? New Daneo-American signing Magnus Nielsen Powless is also new to me. 😂
I noticed this too. Dan’s been banging the ‘NO RESTRICTION’ drum for a few weeks now, almost as long as he’s been wearing that Pink Stelvio t-shirt! They’ll need a crowbar to get that shirt off his back by the end of the Giro😂
@@98408143 And on stage 21, they reveal that it‘s actually a tatoo, not a shirt.
