I worked at WalMart and I was always looking for interesting coin in my till. There were actually much less error coins 100 years ago. Now there’s errors on pretty much every coin. I’m guessing somebody at them int figured out they could be sitting on a free gold mine.
Quarter roll. Why would a quarter end up in a roll of nickels? Besides the error coin is actually in between the sizes of a quarter and a nickel. So in reality it was probably in a bag of quarters. When they were fed through the rolling machine. It got rejected and some overpaid manager took it. Don't worry it's the only one.
I have a whole roll of Dr Sally ride, bought a role at Bank started to unroll it and notice the roll and then I just took the quarters and pushed them in to another roll all untouched.. Nice
I'm literally in tears rn. So a couple of months ago (same time new quarters came out)I was over at the 7-Eleven. I forget what I purchased. I came home pulled out the change. As always I give a quick look at the coins & noticed this nickel that seemed to be a nickel but for some reason it kept throwing me off. At other glances it appeared to be a quarter, but I noticed it being smaller. I put it to the side hoping to not have it mixed w/regular coins until I get it looked at. Well somehow I've misplaced or spent it. 😢
I have a good few old pennies of my dad's to go through. Is there a chart or something where I can see worth of certain errors? And the really valuable pennies?
I have a 1971 half dollar that weighs 10.46 and a reg 1971 weighs 11.20 what do You think it's worth..?? Oh it is in very very very outstanding condition 👍👍
Seems like you may have a silver one. Check the rim of your coin, If silver, it should look the same silver color around the rim of the coin. Whereas, a non-silver one shows a bronze/dark copper looking color around rim of coin -if silver, the silver half-dollar coin,, would indeed weigh more than a non-silver half-dollar coin. There is so much info on the web regarding this subject so you can easily look up the average value (and/or avg resell price) for a silver 1971 Kennedy half-dollar. My bet is you would get whatever the current market value is for the silver itself. (& the value of silver does fluctuate constantly) In other words, it would be the same as you selling silver jewelry at the same weight.( I personally wouldn’t sell that coin for just its weight in silver) Now, a *Silver* Half-dollar coin is cool but not super rare, your silver half-dollar is worth “More” than another ‘regular’ half-dollar.. But what you really need to do is check your coin for any & all *MINT ERRORS* . Again look online, and if u find out that your coin has even a really small mint error, I’d bet the resell price would be larger then whatever it is for the current market price of silver.
I just started my coin collection and I would like to know how to mint my coins and how to get a list or possibly a checklist to keep an eye out for any rare coins.

What is going on?we now shop mistakes instead of rarity. What are our machines made in China. We're stumbling into hell. We no longer do anything right.
It would also be slightly smaller in diameter. Probably enough to be rejected by the rolling machine. No way this coin was found in general circulation.
This is probably the biggest and most valuable error for ANY 2022 or 2023 coin!! 🎉🎉
