People do not have to use coinstar. Wal-mart sales paper rolls for your change. Once you roll it you can spend it at walmart. Trust me or call walmart they will tell you they take all currancy. Dont loss money from your hard earned money. I had an issue taking rolls of change to customer service. They tried to tell me they cant accept it. I said so your turning down money. They said no we are not accepting change in bulk. I said its money. I asked for a manager and told the manager. They had a huge meeting about the currency acceptance. All currancy is allowed. Please dont waist money on these machine.

Coin collector here. Abandoned homes are great places to find good coins, because they've sat there untouched for years. No finger prints,no scratches, just dust in most cases. I found a key date quarter from the 1820's worth about $15,000 , in pristine condition...too bad they drilled a hole in it , to make a pendant ! But, I've found other great coins in the last few years
I got a bucket full of pennies. I helped clean a ladies house out who was a hoarder. I found green coins stuck to the floor. Time now to check that bucket I filled just from that house.
I get the idea of trying to find valuable change but the issue is is that thereâs a million different defects for all different coins of all different years and to a normal person wouldnât know the different issue that are common and trying to find one or two specific things wrong is like finding a needle in a haystack compared to knowing many different thing that comes with years of doing this. The ones thatâd be the easiest is to look at quarters and dimes to see if theyâre silver or checking pennies with magnets to see if any are steel.
