      It will be cool if you get an answer. But until then, we can speculatively analyze. From what I can see, it is as simple as you described. However, the plexi is not transparent. It is covered by a slightly translucent holographic film. The film is not simply slightly translucent (82% light passing is what the spec of the foil says), it has a manufactured special way the light which passes is disbursed. prodisplay.com/products/rear-projection-film/ is the foil they used... I will be using this product in an art piece I'll make for my thesis project.

      I believe they used either plexiglass or a self adhesive film applied to plexiglass. Product from this company: prodisplay.com/products/rear-projection-film/

      But sometimes some plastic sheets are used. There is a plenty of tricks of that, And is not bad to know which exact material they use

      8 Bit Otaku actually it is some of of foil that has 99% transparency formed by three layers ultra thin special material not a piece of glass

    • @TheAmoscokkie
      @TheAmoscokkie Před 7 lety

      the glass is a glass but is pasted with acrylic film which allows the rear projector to project on the see through. One example is 3m vikuiti rear projection film
