"entirely on device.. no data leaves your computer or goes to the cloud". I've heard that one before!
I know, it's a really good joke in the industry.
"you can delete your Recall data" I heard that one too, quite recently
This may be naive, but I do believe at least Apple is intending on going that route considering the amount of engineering theyâre putting into their chips being able to do local AI compute.
Apple is not a saint, but they have shown some level of commitment to privacy. The reason their maps have such bad traffic data for instance is because they donât collect the same type of data that Google does, so while Apple maps used to be worse it was my preferred choice. Now Google maps is unusable from a UX experience so all is well that ends well.

BTW the Recall feature does not do anything to hide your passwords, financial information, or any kind of sensitive data that it screenshotted. Once the bad actors figure out how to hack into that, its a pretty nightmare-ish scenario.
If the information is stored locally on your machine, and malicious actors are in a position to access the contents of your system freely, then you already have pretty big problems.

@@josep43767 It will start on-device (as now is the most attention on it) and slowly for "improved customer experience" leak more and more data (over time). I have been a dividend focused investor for a long time. This does not mean I don't own growth stocks, I do. A well rounded portfolio should be a mixture of both categories. One way to minimize the anxiety out of stock market investing, is to make sure you keep a large cash cushion. I invest in the market, but never put all my money in market.
Dividends are dope. Personally, I sometimes use my dividends to buy other dividend and growth stocks for diversification instead of reinvesting in the same stock. To each their own methods though. I get it now. Apple released M4 on iPad just so that when Microsoft could say their new ARM systems are faster than M3, people will say "Aren't they on M4 now?"

Apple released the m3 right when the X Elite was going to be announced and released the m4 a week before Qualcom released their product. That cant be a coincidence.
M3 was developed using N3 Node, while M4 on N3E which is cheaper and more efficient process from TSMC. They have to stop building M3 using N3 and hence they released M4 on iPad.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Windows, is in fact, Copilot/Windows, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Copilot plus Windows. Windows is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another paid component of a fully functioning Copilot system made useful by the Recall spyware, awful PowerShell and irrelevant system components comprising a full OS as defined by Bill Gates.
Many computer users run a modified version of the Copilot system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of Copilot which is widely used today is often called Windows, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the Copilot system, developed by Microsoft.
There really is a Windows, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Windows is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Windows is normally used in combination with the Copilot operating system: the whole system is basically Copilot with Windows added, or Copilot/Windows. All the so-called Windows installations are really installations of Copilot/Windows!
