They looked similar until the center dropped in brightness, I'm guessing it entered a battery saver mode (which they must've disabled on the MacBook 🙄)

The Mx Pro and Max SoC SKUs are all massive heavy metal-slab laptops with two giant fans.
Thus is Qualcomm’s FIRST SKU with the Oryon CPU core(s) and is entirely aimed at slim and light form factor.

In the video they were talking about the Snapdragon X elite not the plus.
Also, unless its hard to find, no mention on MS's website about which SKU they are talking about, happy to assume your guess is right.

@@benedictco6109 Neither of these have ever competed with the Macbook Pro. I’ve been using Co-Pilot on Edge. I find it handy. Apple doesn’t have anything nearly as useful. Certainly not trash siri who never says anything useful.

This is actually cus chrome recently got a version for arm. Which means that it actually can open more than 2 tabs without crashing on an arm pc

Love the battery comparison where they forgot to turn down the brightness on the mac, no shiz the pc runs longer if it is at half brightness
mistrust with Microsoft is getting higher and higher, why they even do this PR stunts. Every year they the best, but nothing good with them.
They both start at the same brightness, but the Surface dims at around the time the Mac turns off. My guess is that it switched to battery saver mode.
The way they cut away before showing the result of the background removal was a bit odd

Tbh I don't thinknit means anything, even if it doesn't work as expected, they could have easily finesse it. Besides there are a lot of apps that can do that now, so its not an issued

I think you're confusing the base model pro with standard M chip (not what i'm talking about).
Apples naming conventions could be better.
We don't need more and more power on chips. The M3 or others are powerful and yet you don't use all the power! Is it just the pleasure of knowing that the chip is powerful?
This highlight could've included more details. Realistically, a lot of this presentation is about battery life and barely demonstrates the power of the new NPU, except for Minecraft. I'm sure people will walk away thinking, 'but what can I do with it?' or 'is it worth the upgrade?'
Expecially when openai is also releasing Gpt4o on Mac already anyway

Giving CoPilot control over settings, a way to view the screen, and potentially file-management makes it a vector of attack - an unpredictable one at that. I think these rapid developments are cool, but concerning. More care should be put into the integrity of the OS. There should be hardware and software levels of isolation between AI processes and the user space to allow an easy cut-off if an AI task takes actions that are damaging. I really think Microsoft is rushing things to remain competitive
its ai they didnt see ur things but they process it with ur hardware on ur device, thats why there is a chips that builts for ai processing
Nah they just want faster and more efficient data harvesting, as well as those juicy defence contracts they are surely getting, preparing to track every single user action and report it the government on first demand

This happened with macs when they transitioned as well. It was so difficult to work with legacy softwares, or ones that require some legacy dependencies.
They're promising better emulations this, let's see what reviews say!
This is the BIG question. People paying this much for laptops expect them to run all their apps. It took Apple YEARS to get the major apps ported to M1. I still need to run x64 emulators sometimes and they are DOG SLOW

It really is absurd how much more responsive Linux is vs. Windows. Already have have my rigs moved off, soon moving the rest. So very done with Windows...working with customers' daily issues really drives the point home how Windows is just horrific for productivity.

Word is probably the easiest to use productivity software there is. I dare you to try Altium, PADS, MatLAB, or 3DS Max.

Have you done a search in Microsoft's forums or Reddit or the internet in general for what the vast majority of people think of the app? I've been using computers since before 1990 and Word since the mid 90s. It has always sucked. Word 6 was the worst, but it's not much better now.

Will the search feature be finally improved? On macs you're able to find files almost instantly using words inside the word document or powerpoint etc, whilst in windows takes like 5 minutes and often just referring to file names instead of content
Technically, Microsoft power toys are better search features, almost like in Mac, but idk why Microsoft still didn't include windows. Maybe because it's too much like in Mac 😂

Of course! You can turn off the Copilot button on the taskbar, install an older version of Windows that doesn't have Copilot, or try to hack Copilot out of your system. Now, you'll only be bothered by the Copilot key, which you can pry out, and the soldered NPU and Qualcomm chip.
Doing some dodgy comparisons with the battery life. The middle Computer clearly has the brightness turned down while the Mac is still pimping max brightness.
Still a great PC but it would be nice to see an honest comparison.

Great performance and battery life (nice OLED screen too). My Surface Pro 7 is still kicking so unless they have some sort of trade-in then I really don't have need to spend on this.

@@navaneeth_anand Not now, but at least months ago. But then product development takes alot of time so these devices are most likely was still from his era and maybe the hardware after this. It may take 2 generations before we witness new hardware from new leadership.
@@pylotlight No solid confirmation of course since its all internal. But speculations were due to some disagreements with directions of Windows and the Surface Hardware. Many think Surface Duo and Surface Neo was one of his pet projects that now discontinued.

M4 is only 25% faster than M3 so this is on par with M4 air and beyond. I hope Snapdragon launches M4 pro and max equivalents.
@@AS-yf4jr Some real competition is always good for us consumers. Intel is the shining example of this. When AMD's Ryzen processors came out, Intel had to cut prices and release affordable higher-core count CPUs to stay competitive. When AMD wasn't competitive, you had to pay $1000+ to get 6 or more core-count Intel CPUs.
@panzer_TZ Yes, Intel is to launch its equivalents in Q3 of this year, lets see. Snapdragon will launch another series of X-elites later this year. Thing are getting spicy.
They compared these new pcs to the base m3, not the m3 pro or m3 max lol.
@mysticaljp1 Because they are air competitors, wait for the surface studio when sd releases newer x elites, They are yet to go 3nm, adding extra performance to this isn't even an issue, getting manufacturers on board is. X86 is still huge, especially for gaming. It will take a while. A year or so, maybe.
How is the gpu and speaker quality? Can we play steam games with no issues?

Surface isn’t a pro laptop it doesn’t have strong graphic performance. This surface laptop is meant to compete with MacBook Air and the surface studio is the competitor to the pro

On the Minecraft example: how sad for human development to now replace human interaction with AI interaction. We have gone from human-to-human in-person interactions, over human-to-human online interactions, to human-to-AI online interactions. Next step will be human-to-AI-Robot in-person interactions. That might be the end of our civilization.
How long before NVidia comes out with a stand alone AI card for PC's. I'm sure the next GPU cards will have it on the boards but I wonder if they will have stand alone's for people that want more performance. Seems like a logical business case.
Hey, I just was wondering about that problem: I would love to have one of those Surface devices. Ultra mobile and really powerful AI integration. But I also want to work with Unreal Engine and other 3D Software. If I would connect an external RTX 5090 and put the Output onto up to 3 4K Monitors in my Office, that would be best of both worlds. This reminds me a bit of the usage of external audio interfaces and other pro audio hardware.
What we need is free Thunderbolt over USB C. Then we could see a rising in eGPU market.
nvidia is going back to making their own Arm CPU cores as well as SoC to go with it.
They are desperate not to miss this train.

I know that Minecraft demo was fake because copilot called the husk a zombie. Extremely small detail but it's a lot easier to get wrong than an AI
