Great video again Bob!
I love the plecos!
*_Keep up the good work and thumbs up!_*
Thank you Danny 👍👍
Wow what a beautiful tank
Nice vid, both plecos look good.
great video really enjoyed it love the zebra pleco.
Thank you D.P.K. 👍
Big Steen!
Awesome video!!!!
+Fonseca Corals thank you :)
no problem!! I subscribed!!
Great plecos thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching Mr Mac 👍
Both look incredible... And incredibly expensive! Love that triple stack 20 set ;) I do hang on front filters too! much easier to access :)
The zebras and leopard frogs are in a neck and neck race for my favorite pleco but I'd have to say that the leopard frogs are taking the lead right now.
Its a pretty tight race
LR Bretz tank looks nice !
It's really coming around =)
I love zebra plecos but those leopard frog plecos are really adorable looking 🤗✅
Need the good ol aquarium co swap.
They are both gorgeous!! But I think because I'm colorblind, the zebras contrast makes it the winner for me.
I am also colorblind and agree
What color do you see them? I’m not colorblind and I see black and white
Luckily I don’t have to choose. Have tanks full of both L46 and L134’s. Also keep L397’s and L333’s. Love them all. 😎👍
Do you keep the L046 and L134 and L333 in the same tank?
the fish still look awesome
Love the Leopard Frog pleco by far.
dream fish! especially the zebras!
Gm how many gals and how many fish behind you when this vid started, thanks brody.
They look awesome man thanks for sharing. #bringbacktherick
Thank you JAWB 👍
The zebra and leopard frog are both amazing really liking the leopard frog pleco
Llk
#bringbacktherick - nice morning update 🤠👍🏻
Zebra Plecos
What are you feeding your l134?
Both gorgeous!! But my heart is with the leopard frogs!
What size PVC do you use for zebra pleco?
Just now seeing this one, hey stick a fx6 on that 20L for some flow LOL
I love he leopard frog plecos and I love the channel
Thank you shayna 👍👍
I keep them both. With enough caves, I see them out about the same amount. Though my leopard frogs seem quicker to hide if I move. On their behalf I've owned them for a shorter time then the L046. I cant choose between them. I need more of both! only 5 L046 & 4 L134's.
Hey Bob, I love both but if I had to choose I'd pick the zebra...just wish they weren't so expensive.
+EJ Fishes 76 me too, but they are coming down in price
I have to say I'd choose the zebras....... although I love the green phantoms. What are your thoughts on dithers? I noticed most of your 'pleco focused' tanks don't have dithers, is there a reasoning behind it or just coincidence? Love your channel by the way.
+Franz von Köller Hi Franz, I don't use dithers because I don't feel it's worth the risk of a dither fish getting sick and spreading it to my plecos. I know it's pretty low odds but just not worth it to me.
Thanks for your answer! It does make sense, especially when you have the fancier plecos.
Absolutely the Zebra Plecos!!! L046, Hypancistrus zebra-had two back in 1996 for one year, then we got orders, and I rehomed them with a young man who was thrilled to get two healthy Zebra Plecos for free. He left with written instructions as to quarantine/water temp/ph/high volume water flow/lighting/feeding/caves/appropriate tank-mates/frequent water changes-25% once or twice per week according to tests. I was *determined* that my fish would have every chance at a long life (15 years) with him, and LACK of vital information would NOT be to blame. 😏🇺🇸
Hi Bob I do find the zebra pleco very attractive. What is the sex ratio male to female with plecos? What is the minimal tank size? Did you say they are in a 20 long? Hmmm how many inches is a long? My tall is 24" x 12" x 16".
My vote is for the leopard frogs. Striking colors and pattern. Zebras are nice too but I can't afford either ones so I'll stay with my bristlenose
I would go with gold nuggets as my favorite plecos
Great video Bob.....as usual. My choice is the Zebra...So beautiful....Say...could you put the filter on the side of the tank...that way you could have a better view...and the flow would go from end to end?
+Penny Cantua thank you penny :) the filter is too big to put on the side. The stand gets in the way :(
Heck.....
I'd have to say zebra pleco, but I love leopard frogs too
My fav are the L046-Zebras!! I want them!! Don't get me wrong, te Leopard frogs are cool too but ZEEEbras
I think I still prefer Zebra plecos, but the leopards are very pretty.
Leapord frog plecos are some nice looking fish, but I gotta go Zebra Plecos. They're one of my favorite plecos though, so they had an advantage already :p
Zebras have a slight edge over the Leopards for me =)
I find the Zebra frog pleco to be the most beautiful of the plecos, but I've heard the leopard frog plecos are slightly more outgoing and don't hide as much. I'm not sure if that is true but its enough to make me consider getting a leopard from pleco instead- also where I live the Zebras are $400 and Leopard from plecos are $150-$200.
Love both but zebras win in my opinion. STEEN ON BROTHER
Thank you Bjorn 👍👍
I thought this was a fish keeping channel, CLEAN the glass before filming!!!! LOL Please!!! Pretty Please!!! I cant tell or did u address if u can hang the filter on the left side of the tank. Love the Vids, keep it up Steenfott Aquatics. Peace Out!!!
is the aqeuon your go to for hob's?
Yup, when on sale at petsmart they are super cheap, have a ton of room, and self prime.
Is one more outgoing, less shy, than the other?
They are both pretty shy, but it can very
i got 5 of those leopard plecos from corey also. im not sure how to sex them but depending what i end up with i might trade you. if your sportin an eaglemont golf course hat i think theres prolly a good chance we live in the same area.
I love all plecos!! But going to say zebra
I like the zebra pleco more although the leopard is a gorgeous fish also
David Betancourts aquariums I agree
About how i feel =)
How hard are you trying to breed the zebras?
I think I like the leopards better!
+Michael Tette not too hard, once they are adults I'll be putting more effort into it.
I like the leopard frog picasimus best
Pimp my pleco. lol I love them both the same.
Are leopard frogs kinda like zebras in worth like how much they are. Personally I like zebras more
In my area Zebras are around $150 and Leopards are around $100. But just a year ago you could get Leopards for under $50. Their price is really skyrocketing due to their natural habitat getting wiped out.
Is there a cross of a zebra and leopard pleco?
No, they can not interbreed
Steenfott Aquatics oh man that would have been a cool looking fish.
I think the zebra's are cool
Are those crypts from Cory?
Nope, i bought them from my LFS
Its a hard choice....I love them both. I guess if I had to choose it would be the leopard frogs. But both are out of reach for me....they are so pricey unfortunately
Shelley G. Yea they are really jumping up in price. luckily I got mine before the pleco craze and their natural habitats got destroyed.
You are so lucky to have both of those. You dont know how jealous I am LOL. Maybe if you get them breeding you can sell them and ship? Right? :)
Shelley G. hopefully :)
L134's Leopard Frogs all the way.
Leopard Frog ,all the way !
Do either of them swim very much or spend much time out in the open? What are their care requirements? (same/similiar?) I know (?) they are lousy algae eaters and prefer a wood/omnivore diet. Fragile or bulletproof or inbetween?
My bristlenose will suck on my hand and allow me to lift them out of the water - out in the open most of the day - but then my tank is just a tangled mess of wood. I remember the first time I saw a zebra - 1992 in Seattle - $29.99.
They are pretty similar, i keep the zebras a little warmer because they are younger. I wouldnt say they are bulletproof like a bristlenose, but they are pretty hardy. A lot of people think because they are expensive they are harder to keep which is just not true.
Both are beautiful but if I had to choose....froggies.
I prefer the Leopard frog
bob my vote is the Zebra Pleco cause I live in Australia an I found baby Zebra Pleco for sale an 650 bucks each so thinking of buying 1
Thats so expensive lol
My vote goes to the leopard frogs.
I prefer the zebras
And if you want to see your plecs more often you need to add tons of hiding spaces. Because they have more hiding spaces they will go out more often because if they get scared and need to dart away there is allways a hiding space close by
My 30 long is bassicaly one big hiding space of wood rocks and plants and my plecs are allways out grazing on the wood
And adding a shaol of chilli rasboras or cardinal tetras also works very good to bring them out
I am not too concerned about seeing them. The zebra pleco tank doesnt even have a light. I just put one on it for filming. The breeder i got them from doesnt light his pleco tanks either. I have thought about throwing in some dithers, but i figured since i dont really care about seeing them, its not worth the risk of bringing in possible contaminants.
L046 zebra pleco
the zebra pleco
I Iove zebra plecos but I've never had them before you know if you get baby's you have to sell me one lol
talk about overfilitration
Yeah Buddy!!! 👍
Leopard, Leopard and Leopard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Zebs for me....but not the prettiest hypan high white 236 every day for me.
Those are super nice too
Steenfott Aquatics I found a group of 8 L397 the other day prettiest panaqulous ever certainly on top 5 list for me i would get them but very pricey.
HOB and the word "sweet" ???
I really like them when they work =P
yea...Zebra pleco fry
get a wave maker
dont need to go that hardcore
Leopard frog plecos are way cooler.
Leopard frog pleco... much cheaper and bigger😂😂😂
they look cool but one of the most boring fish you can get.
Its definitely more of a cool factor fish than an entertaining one.
