Tarkov Budget Kits: Cheap Early Loadouts and Efficient Midgame Gear Sets!

  • In today's efficient kit guide, we take a broad look at different gear sets that you might want to consider, all the way from Level 1, through to the midgame and some late game suggestions too.
    This is intended as useful inspiration for both new players starting out, as well as returning players either resetting their account or starting fresh from a new wipe! Ideally, the best kits until the far endgame should give you the most efficiency possible, i.e. high effectiveness for the lowest cost, which will allow you to be effective whilst upgrading your hideout, levelling traders and progressing in Tarkov!
    We start off by looking at the early loadouts that are available right from the beginning of the game with the traders, before moving onto mid level gear and finally touching on the budget end of high gear, including full gear sets that you might want to think about running.

    ** Some extra things to point out:
    - AKS-74U from Prapor can only be bought after completing his first quest, Debut!
    - Debut is now easily completed for the MP-133 shotguns by completing "Introduction" from Mechanic, unlocking Jaeger and then buying the shotguns from him (as find in raid is not required!)

      thing u didnt mention. IFAK is a god send now. heals light and heavy bleeds.
      the heavy costs like 210 heavy. and 30 light. uses. but still better than taking a bandage and the other red thing every damn raid.
      it saves 1 extra space. which for non EOD users is a MUST and if u only take light hits. its still 300 heal.

    I think that, when you're actually new and starting out, armor in general is a money trap. At most, a PACA vest will help you against scavs without costing a fortune (for a new player's budget)--but even that's unnecessary. For a new player, an armor vest probably won't save you if you're making the kind of major mistakes new players will. But since you can barter three half-face-covers for a fresh PACA vest from Ragman from the start, it's relatively accessible.
    You're right about the headset part--it's often too expensive to run both a decent helmet and a headset together, but just getting a GssH headset instead of a helmet is good advice. Comtacs are substantially better, but twice as expensive, while GssH will get the job done, at least against scavs and careless players.

    • @Gigabeef
      @Gigabeef  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah the armor one is tricky because it's super annoying getting one shot by a buckshot scav which is why I kinda like having paca, but I don't disagree that most totally new players will be dying without ever knowing where they got shot from etc, its definitely about experience rather than gear at that stage!

    This is really good info. I'm almost to 2k hours so I don't even know why I watch videos like this, but, this is the most comprehensive yet succinct explanation of everything I've learned. I'm 100% in agreement, and one thing you say that few others do, is point out the importance of a headset. For me, that's second to only a gun in importance.
    Helmets are really a 50/50 for me. They do save your life sometimes, but I feel the silhouette of the tin can helm is so ubiquitous that people spot that a mile away just like an uncovered face. If I'm going DMR/Sniper or a map suited to that, I'll often wear level 5 chest and only a shemagh for my head. I'd take the risk of a dunked head shot over a very likely spot imo.

      @Gigabeef  Před 3 lety +2

      That sounds good, I don't use the saiga much but like the idea of that build. Only part I don't like it the helmet for lack of sound, I can't manage without the headset but that's personal preference!

    • @gamerbg294
      @gamerbg294 Před 3 lety +1

      @@Gigabeef I like this helmet and face shield, because it has a very good price on the flea market (around 50k rubles), and as you mentioned in the video the most important thing about using the headset is to increase the distance you hear, but i don't worry about wearing a headset in a CQC situation, but what I like most about this helmet is the fact that your face shield does not affect ergonomics, that is, you wear a helmet that provides reasonable protection (obviously this loadout is more budget, but the intention is not diying from 1 shot in the face for scavs / scav players) and has little penalty in ergonomics

    Building on your tip about the AKS-74U - Since you can buy an unlimited amount of them, you can use them as a constant source of BP ammo for a relatively decent price. the 74U is ~28,823 roubles, once you strip the rounds out of the magazine, sell the gun back to Mechanic for ~12,640 roubles. Your loss ends up being 16,183 roubles for a full mag of BP, which works out to 539 roubles per round, which isn't a bad price to pay to have decent ammo pre-flea market. Once you get level 10, you can buy BT ammo for even cheaper, I see it regularly up for 200-300 roubles/round and BT has 37 pen(compared to BP's 32 pen) which is solid even against most Class 5 armor.
    You can also build AK-74N's at Workbench Level 1 for just a wooden AK handguard/stock and 1x weapon parts.
    5.45 AK's are definitely a great choice for early-mid game, once you unlock higher level traders and can get high tier recoil reducing attachments, I would suggest going with 7.62x39 AK's loaded with BP. The flesh damage of 7.62 makes them far more effective in most circumstances.

    • @Gigabeef
      @Gigabeef  Před 3 lety +1

    toz shotgun. a nice little backup for when people get close. get the 4 mag. so u have 5 shots for under 10k
    also toz reloads faster than most other shotties. it just needs to cycle after a shot. but if u like shooting slower go for it.
    pro tip. always load a high damage slug first. like poleva 3? then just slam in 2-4 buckshots. this way you can use the first shot carefully. and slam the rest at a faster fire rate.

      Effective durability is 64 for korund vs 81 for gzhel, so they are quite similar with the gzhel being a bit better for protection.
