Thanks for the tutorial. I used it to fix a SRM150 which has a completely different layout and it is much newer, but just re-soldering every joint did the trick.

You were staring straight at those large swollen mains filter caps but did not replace them as a preventative safety measure?

Hi! fantastic vid. Do you know where I can find the PACCOM 6800uf 50V 85° C or something comparable? On of my big capacitors in the row of four has gone bad.

Hi, Do you offer repair services on Mackie SRM450s? If so, could I just remove the amp/board and ship them to you? Please send me information if you do those type of repairs. Thanks

I fricken love speakers and stereo equipment!..apparently so do you!..lol..Thats awesome..That is a double sided board and technically is soldered from the other side..I would have flipped the board over and inspected the through hole joints with a jewelers loop and looked for the classic circle cold solder joint/crack that is from fatigue and vibration..It would be a lot easier to solder from the other side, but your technique got it done...On older equipment they used lead solder which is a fantastic joy to work with!..solders and reflows so easy..The new china crap they use lead free solder that i think sucks and can be a pain to work with... A tip on soldering is no need to heat up the joint first, just get on it and bridge a blob of solder between your tip and the joint..That will create more surface area for the heat to transfer from the tip to the joint and it will heat up much faster!...I see your using silver solder which is good for a plate amp like that that has a lot of vibration..I sometimes use silver but i always use lead solder, non of that lead free crap!..lol..Those double sided boards can be incredibly difficult to remove a 4 pin through hole component from!..i have some tips on doing that if you ever have to remove a component

Hi! and thanx for sharing your skills with us mortals! Ive recently discovered a problem on one of my Srm 450 V2. When powered up, and xlr cable from mixer is plugged in, it comes a loud sounding noise, full tone. Ive switched the external power cable and xlr from the one that is working with same result. Also when linked from the working speaker, the loud sound appear. Both mixer channel is ok.

My Mackie 450 stopped during a wedding!! Luckily the one remaining speaker was good enough to handle the evening without the guests noticing. You can barely hear anything but a whisper. Is the board shot? there was no warning....it stopped. Any info would be helpful. Thanks, Larry

Hello, any idea of why my digital inputs suddenly sound distorted? It was working fine, but now there is a distortion happening.. I'm new to this board, and I have checked everything I thought it could be.. Nothing... I use a brand new scarlette 18i20, and through the headphones I don't hear any distortion, only through the mackie's digital inputs..
