Recently scored a on some Mackie C300. I want to turn them into SRM450s, do you know if tgats possible, and where could i get a Mackie OEM amp. Cant find them anywhere.

Thanks for the tutorial. I used it to fix a SRM150 which has a completely different layout and it is much newer, but just re-soldering every joint did the trick.

Owners keep the srm450 v1, and it sounds great why doesn't mackie keep making these speakers?

They were great. The V3 are way better. Class AB amplifiers with 300 watts rms. V3 has 1000 watts with 500 rms. No comparison

Hello, any idea of why my digital inputs suddenly sound distorted? It was working fine, but now there is a distortion happening.. I'm new to this board, and I have checked everything I thought it could be.. Nothing... I use a brand new scarlette 18i20, and through the headphones I don't hear any distortion, only through the mackie's digital inputs..

Well that did the trick for the one buzzing really badly. Replaced the one with the more mild buzz and....still have the mild buzz. Maybe a different cap in there? Anyway, thanks for pointing in the right direction.

Thanks for posting this! I have a couple questions - what's the purpose of the bias adjustment, and how do you adjust the signal processing pots? I have 3 mackies, two of which are softer than the third and I'd like to calibrate them so they're all playing at the same volume.

Well... technically, it's possible to repair a shifted magnet. It involves some scraping, some shimming and some glueing, but nothing that can't be done in a few hours or so.

Hi! and thanx for sharing your skills with us mortals! Ive recently discovered a problem on one of my Srm 450 V2. When powered up, and xlr cable from mixer is plugged in, it comes a loud sounding noise, full tone. Ive switched the external power cable and xlr from the one that is working with same result. Also when linked from the working speaker, the loud sound appear. Both mixer channel is ok. So i thought this speaker is done. But if you plug a microphone via xlr directly into the speaker it works just fine! So im planning to open it up and do som checking. Do you have some insighsts to waht it might be? Best Kjell Arne

Very informative, thank you. I have the KRK ROKIT 5's. The Same tweeter humming or buzzing from both both speakers with or without input. Did I understand correctly that the location of the bad capacitor or filter would be in the same location for both gen 1 and gen 2? Thank you!

I had V1 also Made in Italy, also USA and also China, in Italy I have changed both 12 drivers, and I sold it. I regret every day. Made in Italy were very very good sounding speakers.

Ok Dj's this is a common mistake all brands like Mackie, Jbl, Qsc, EV put out some great speaker but its your choice i roll with mackie this is what i been using for years. But my point is depending on your set-up if you need highs you can get great highs out of certain application of any these speaker just remember 12' powered with horn more highs, 15' with horn more mids and bass so when you judge a speaker and say its muffed its not that its how the speaker was built and what application your using it for just my opinion have fun out there choose your brand likes rock DJSS..

These v1s have always impressed me, they could easily do a 300 person outdoor 5k without any subs and have plenty of bass.

How do these compare to the FBT xlite 12, the Box Pro 12s or Alto TS312 as then last 2 have high spl especially the Alto?
