FYI for all of you guys struggling: you don't need to get any stars with the cup, all you need is just the gold cup in the end which u get by having the most points in the end.

Ngl, every gold part should have max stats for offline and only offline. For online, they should have slightly better stats than wild Wiggler to not make it too broken.
no, replace rollers with slim/crimson slim/wooden, for a more balanced and good hidden stat lineup as well as the decent stats from bidibuggy and acc+tract glider like paper or cloud.

Man, any tips for unlocking the gold wheels? Like do I only need to do the base-game cups (Mushroom - Special, Shell - Lightning), or do I need to do the DLC too? Also, any tips on beating Joost in the first fire flower track? They always seem to immediately get ahead of me no matter what I do.
Statistically, the gold tires are some of the worst performing wheels to choose in the game. Otherwise they are just a flex in online multiplayer. You unlock them by winning against every staff ghost in 150cc.
Mr. Scooty is a bit safer online, but you got the point down :p His and PGP's stats actually impressed me, but I'll always main Yoshi :3 Actually isn't too bad himself :p

Metal Mario exists; 2: I have grown to hate 200cc so racking up the motivation to beat all the cups on 200 was like... Well, I think you know where I'm going with this. Unlocking Gold Mario was literally the last thing I did. When you add the fact that a certain Princess always has my attention this should be no surprise. lol
Well, at least the Gold Standard kart itself isn't completely useless. It can be viable with the right components. I remember the days when I mained it. Brings back memories. I occasionally use the Gold Glider too, depending on my build. On the other hand, the Gold tires ARE practically useless. lol
200cc was a massive pain lol. I’m currently halfway thru the ghost time trials and tbh they’re easy. The big blue was the main one that gave me so much trouble for some reason
If you can learn how to drive with the extremely fast but poor handling characters, you can gain a lot at least in time trials, maybe multiplayer is something else but they are

Unpopular opinion: Having most of the characters locked and have to be unlocked would've made the game more fun like in the wii version.
Remember this *was* originally intended as a port to make an alright mario kart good without much effort. Then nintendo made it their golden goose
