Lounge is the unofficial ranking system for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe! When you wish to compete, you will play against other players of similar match-making rating (MMR). Depending on your MMR, you will place in one of the numerous ranks in Lounge:
Iron 1: 0-999 MMR
Iron 2: 1000-1999 MMR (Placement: 1500)
Bronze 1: 2000-2999 MMR (Placement: 2500)
Bronze 2: 3000-3999 MMR (Placement: 3500)
Silver 1: 4000-4999 MMR (Placement: 4500)
Silver 2: 5000-5999 MMR
Gold 1: 6000-6999 MMR
Gold 2: 7000-7999 MMR
Platinum 1: 8000-8999 MMR
Platinum 2: 9000-9999 MMR
Sapphire 1: 10000-10999 MMR
Sapphire 2: 11000-11999 MMR
Ruby 1: 12000-12999 MMR
Ruby 2: 13000-13999 MMR
Diamond 1: 14000-14999 MMR
Diamond 2: 15000-15999 MMR
Master: 16000-16999 MMR
Grandmaster: 17000+ MMR
Depending on your rank, you will only be eligible to compete in some of the following tiers:
Tier G: Iron 1 + Iron 2 + Placement
Tier FG: Iron 2 + Bronze 1
Tier F: Bronze 1 + Bronze 2
Tier EF: Bronze 2 + Silver 1
Tier E: Silver 1 + Silver 2
Tier DE: Silver 2 + Gold 1
Tier D: Gold 1 + Gold 2
Tier CD: Gold 2 + Platinum 1
Tier C: Platinum 1 + Platinum 2
Tier BC: Platinum 2 + Sapphire 1
Tier B: Sapphire 1 + Sapphire 2
Tier AB: Sapphire 2 + Ruby 1
Tier A: Ruby 1+
Tier S: Ruby 2+
Tier X: Diamond 1+
If you're just getting started, you will be placed in either Iron or Bronze. You'll typically see the seasoned veterans in Sapphire or above.

Just use a small character lol its not that bad
Honestly cant believe that gold mario and his gold parts didn't get buffed more in the last patch. So many things made better, yet the hardest to get character in the game isn't competitively viable
And it's not like gold Mario is bad. He's just a heavy and pretty much every character heavier than Link, Rosalina, and Boo lost viability after everyone else got buffed
It ain't the best combo by any means, but JPG still manages to give us a few "Golden" races.

Hopefully in Wave 5 weaker vehicles and parts get a buff. The main issue here is the gold wheels (and metal/slick/cyber) need one more point in mini-turbo to fully balance them out. Almost all wheels have a stat total of 6 with mini-turbo + speed, but the gold wheels only reach 5 total (4 speed, 1 mt).

Would u reccomend a toad + flame rider + azure rollers + plane glider combo for 200cc non-online? I love it for the handling but am wondering from someome with more experience if it is worth it

Jpg would you mind looking into a combo for me. Im a believer in the lakitu meta. Could you look at lakitu, splattbuggy, roller, paper glider. Its similar to yoshi inkstriker but you get slightly less mini and speed but you get more traction, handling, and acceleration aswell as invincible frames.
I worked so hard to get the wheels today just to find out i had a better combo while flexing
This combo basically just to flex you got all the gold parts to other players
You'd think the gold combo would be at least good when it takes the most work to fully unlock, but yikes

What's your opinion on the cushion tires, I found that they give the most invincibility boost out of all the tires
I just checked it on the builder website, surprisingly it has better stats than with the GLA tires (used luigi teddy buggy GLA tires paper glider as an example), it has less speed but it’s better stats overall
The yoshi in the last race is a bot
what sucks about the all gold combo is that its the one thing you have to go out of your way to obtain and even then you're better off just using the kart you get when you buy the game

I thought the unlock requirements were to get 3 stars in 200cc in all cups. So I spent a whole week torturing myself only to find out you just need gold for the cups. 😐

Can someone please explain this? I keep seeing the pro players sliding off a ramp at an extreme angle and not doing a trick? What's going on there?
My understanding is that sometimes it's better to drift off and build up a mini-turbo rather than to trick off a ramp.
@@unsightedmetal6857 I'm seeing this in situations where they're about to glide and take plenty of time getting to the ground, though.
@@Cartoonicus That is called "glider vectoring". Basically the game limits your speed on all 3 axes, but if you go diagonally you make a right triangle, and your speed when you do that can exceed the normal limit to speed.
That's what I've learned from Bayesic, at least.
