I get immense satisfaction knowing the record for Daisy Circuit was done using Daisy and not Funky Kong
Daisy and funky kong do have similar stats
The one that surprised me most was the fact that there were no mini turbos on peach garden. That's crazy

I believe it's super new. This year has been crazy, MKW was absolutely broken in the first few months.
It's kinda cool that this video has a combination of runs without shortcuts that last 30-40 seconds, and then you get Ultra Shortcut ones, like Grumble Volcano

@@natlus_ artificial luck wheelie is not cheating, it's tech where you cancel a wheelie by turning then wheelie immediately after, it's faster to do this here because you don't get the acceleration drop if you would have chained later at full speed

While the video is cool and all, I’d like to critique the editing. By making all the laps seamlessly connected, it leads to some confusion when a lap begins in an unorthodox way, such as for Coconut Mall, Grumble Volcano or DK Jungle Parkway. For instance, seeing a Peach Beach lap start down on the Beach just makes me wonder how that happened. I would’ve personally preferred at least some context for clips like that, showing a bit of the set-up required to start a lap like that. Still, I understand why you edited it the way that you did

my favourites will always be the runs like bowser's castle, where it's just really smooth and consistent driving and then they abruptly slip in a gamebreaking skip and suddenly the lap is over

Those glitches and ultra shortcuts caught me off guard,i wonder if are possible on my Nintendo Wii,i also didnt get it why people only use Daisy or Funky Kong,they tried to explain to me,but i didnt understood after all.(I just need to unlock Mii Outfit B,then its 100%).
Each character has hidden stats that get added to the vehicle’s stats. Funky Kong and Daisy have the highest speed stat so everyone uses them
every shortcut in the video should be possible on an unmodified copy of the game too
@@aluigiFromKart All of these times were driven on CTGP on a Wii or Wii U. CTGP doesn‘t change anything on RTs, but it‘s pretty much a requirement nowadays for RT 150cc TTs due to its anti cheat system

@@santaisrealmight have a higher speed stat but since its a light weight the fastest vehicle it can drive is the bullet bike, which is slower than flamer runner

It's actually not about the explosion! There's a wall clip done on the bomb to get around the finish line, and you're not even hit by the explosion.

it's better to reset the wheelie during the boost than to go for a chain, since chain wheelies lose speed and are inconsistent

I was so confused because I know that Luigi's circuit, Daisy's circuit and Moo Moo Meadows but then I realized it was from a year ago
Dry dry desert (edit: my bad, it's desert hills) really surprised me, is it really faster to use the second shroom right after the lake cut or was it because he would've landed in the dirt otherwise? I always thought that cutting the very last little strip of sand at the end of the lap would be faster
The Dry Dry Ruins "Ultra" is just a big offroad cut you can take by using the coping of the ending shortcut you mentioned to shoot up top on the right. The Fast lap version requires two mushrooms. The first mushroom is used in line with the start line and the second is to get out of the sand. Then that cacti shortcut after is the next biggest mushroom time save because Justin gets so much air at the end to make the ending cut shroomless anyway. 🤯

@@ratabreak3902 yeaah you're right! Sorry then, it's funny cuz in German these tracks are called "staubtrockene Ruinen" -> dry dry ruins and "staubtrockene Wüste" -> dry dry desert except in english it's desert hills. Totally got mixed up, my bad lol
@@khirek5335 don't worry sth similar happens between all these tracks in the Spanish European version (yep I'm Spanish)
Dry Dry Desert and Dry Dry Ruins are called "Desierto Seco Seco" and "Ruinas Seco Seco" both of them are correct translations and mean the same thing in both languages
However Desert Hills is somehow called "Desierto Sol Sol" which actually should mean Sun Sun Desert a correct translation would be sth like "Colinas Desérticas"
Also aesthetics of all these tracks don't help they seem pretty similar between them lmao
I love how none of these are how Nintendo intended them. Even SNES MC3 doesn't use the wall gap shortcut as a top-3 mushroom spot.

I love it! I can remember seeing videos closer to the game's release of the glitch shortcut in Rumble Volcano, but even that was a lot longer than the one in this video. Super cool to see similar skips on most of the other tracks.

Wonder why they opted for the Mii rather than Daisy for DK Jungle Parkway. Is it because of the drift acceleration stat (quicker turning)?
i think it’s because it’s a really short flap that doesn’t really have much regular driving, so the character choice doesn’t really matter, so the mii pick was probably just for fun

@@markymark443 i think it would matter if it was regular driving, but there’s not much of that in the flap, it’s just a pole clip and boosting thru the shortcut, so i don’t imagine it makes a difference. i believe it would matter if there was a bit more non-boost driving after the shortcut, but not in this case
@@markymark443 also, it’s a very short lap and i imagine the strat used is very difficult to pull off as well as shown here, meaning that doing it at all with any character is how it ended up being the record
he literally just used mii for fun as nobody cares enough to compete for that record, glitch flaps are kinda silly

In moon view highway on the second lap, when I raced, that blue truck finished making that blind turn near the bridge. Btw, I completed moon view highway in less than 2 minutes in a honeycoupe! I also did ghost valley in just 59.7 seconds (less than a minute) in the honeycoupe!
Ngl, the fast staffer in moon view highway is pathetic. They did it in 2:04, but I can easily do it in just 2 minutes.

I mean, you can look up tas ghost records but those aren't done by humans

@@jclkaytwo Because of the fact that even though the inputs are programmed by humans, the emulator itself is the one that's doing them. That's why they're completely repeatable. Because humans aren't the ones doing them. if they weren't completely repeatable, then there would be no point in tas.

I would’ve thought on Toads Factory he would’ve done the big cut at the end and on DK Summit why didn’t he do the turnaround cut right after the cannon
Those are only possible on 200cc, not vanilla TTs
