    I’ve had my craftsman 16” chainsaw for about 5 years now. The price is right. However, DEPENDING on how much you use it, spending twice as much on a Stihl or a Husqvarna is worth it, in my opinion. But hey, it’s lasted me 5 years...

    Make sure to disassemble and clean it every few uses. Especially the bar rails and clutch. Sharpen the chain every session, grease the nose sprocket. I just picked up an Oregon advance cut chain for mine, should be better than the stock chain.

  • @johnnorman7708
    @johnnorman7708 Před 3 lety +3

    Chain tension depends on whether or not you have a hard nose or sprocket nose bar. Tiny droop on hard nose. No droop with sprocket nose....but you should be able to easily turn the chain by hand. I personally use a thumb and finger pinch and turn test. And remember to lift up on bar while adjusting chain and tightening the bar nuts.

    Sadly craftsman doesn't make tools like they used to, but some of the power tools made now are definitely worth the price. I've got a 2cyl handheld blower and trimmer from craftsman and they work just fine, though some tweaks had to be made for them to run effectively better but overall all's good. I've been using my old poulan chainsaw for my needs and has worked out quite well just for cedar and some oak, I have been thinking bout getting another chainsaw and from some of the reviews I've seen and read, craftsman chainsaws seem to be the way to go especially pricewise and for what i'd be using it for. Thanks for ur video, it has helped me make the decision on the craftsman chainsaw over some others I've looked into
