Any ideas to discourage my birds from sitting on my ceiling fan? I never turn it on, but they really like perching up there. It’s not safe because it’s made with unsafe metal and wood that they chew on and get sick from.

Hello! Leg bands are put on by breeders to show that a specific bird has been bred in captivity. They often contain an ID, the breeder's initials, the state of birth, and occasionally a birthdate or area code. If put on at an early age, leg bands shouldn't bother the bird at all! I would heavily suggest keeping your budgie's band on, as it's the only form of ID it has unless you decide to get a microchip. However, if you still want to remove it, vets have the tools necessary to remove the bands safely. Best of luck :)

@@lauram9889 Bands are usually put on before the bird is sexed, so that wouldn't be the case. Instead, take a look at the bird's cere (that bit of skin above their beak). It will be white, light blue, or brown if the bird is a female - and blue or bright pink if it's a male. This doesn't apply to all types of budgies, like completely white or yellow birds, but for the most part it should be accurate. Hope this wasn't too complicated haha.

Awwwe I have a budgie myself. His name is taz because it rhymes with spazz and he is such a little spaz. I’m going to have to look into the website I want to get another buddy bird friend budgie for taz and get a bigger cage for them and more toys. I also am moving soon so I want to make a bird room too.
I make toys and have a lot from preview pet products, also I didn’t know this before but around NC there is so many bird areas I know one I went or when I was little where the bird could fly around the bird rescue, there is one in Charlotte called companion parrots rehomed that I love, and then there is parrot university also in Charlotte and there is parrot mountain in Tennessee only 2 hours away from me. My bird died but once I repaint and re do the floor in my room and wait a while I’m getting a new bird probably a conure I hope because conures are perfect for me, or a cockatiel because I also love cuddly birds, Casper was my last bird and he died most likely from a respiratory infection, but we still can figure it out, He was very shy and probably not the perfect bird for me because he would stand in one spot for hours but I loved him

But cheap isn't always the best. I want to give my new birds the best life. Do you think you can help give me a couple of links within my 11 year old budget. Thank You. Keep up the good work. It all depends on why your dad is buying the seeds. If it’s because he thinks it’s cheaper, find a brand of healthy pellets that’s still a comparable price, and use those to convert. If he thinks it’s because budgies need seeds as food, let him know that pellets are part of a healthy diet, to get nutrients you can’t get from seeds alone. If it’s because you just told him “pellets” and he doesn’t know what that means, pick a specific name from the store he’ll go to and say that- “Next time you go to petsmart, I need Roudybush pellets” gives specific direction. In the meantime, adding in some fresh food and sprouted seeds will help round out the diet. And there are people who only feed fresh food and seeds when they can’t get pellets- it’s a lot of work, but any healthy fresh food will help you for now!

Hello I'm planning on buying a sun conure this coming fall, but I cant seem to find the perfect cage for him. I dont want to spend more than 400, so I'll have plenty of money for toys, food bowls, perches, food and ofc the actual bird. Do you have any good suggestions?
There are plenty of great flight cages out there! Yaheetech in particular has a good model on amazon for roughly $110 - I would link it, but CZcams tends to delete my comments with links for whatever reason. I believe it's on Elle's amazon page :)

I’m not sure how you could discourage them from going on it, but to make it more safe for your birds you can wrap the blades with natural twine.
Maybe wrap like a blanket around it? I’m not sure
If you want to follow the wrapping idea, vet tape is a good choice

Vet wrap/tape is a pretty good option!
